Gstaad Palace prices: in late June the simplest room is CHF 902, breakfast included

Gstaad Palace prices are a third lower in summer: from the hotel a Cosy Room for 2 with breakfast costs CHF 1,396 in mid-January and CHF 902 in late June. I’d come in summer and spend the afternoon in the spa, which the price includes: 1,800 m² of granite, an open fire and an indoor pool at 29 degrees.

I’d book with the hotel: on a Saturday in March its Cosy Room with breakfast costs CHF 202 less than the same room at Booking.com, and in late June CHF 160 less than the lowest figure you’ll find on Google.

You want a single night over the holidays, at a winter weekend or in February: on those dates the hotel does not sell one, and for New Year its rate card asks for at least 8 nights.

Winter or summer: when is the Palace cheaper?

The Palace opens twice a year: in winter from 15 December⁴ to early March, in summer from late June to early September, and in between it shuts, spa and restaurants with it. Summer costs less: a typical July night is CHF 1,122¹, a January one CHF 1,590. The year’s lowest, CHF 1,062, falls in the last days of June.

In winter the hard part is finding a single night at all. Between Christmas and New Year, on January Fridays and Saturdays and for most of February it has no price. The holidays sell as whole stays; for the other dates ask how many nights the hotel wants. For 7 nights in February¹⁰ it offers 2 suites on a rate called The Art of Staying Longer, 30% under the rate with the meal credit: the Deluxe Junior Suite Mountain View drops from CHF 4,935 to CHF 3,454 a night.

On a Saturday in March the Cosy Room with breakfast⁸ costs CHF 1,719 from the hotel, while on Google the same room is CHF 1,921 at Booking.com and CHF 2,034 at Hotels.com². In late June the hotel has no line on Google, yet its own site⁹ sells the Cosy Room at CHF 902, CHF 160 under the lowest figure there. Book with the hotel, and do the sums on its own page.

The Cosy Room faces north, and the hotel’s own description calls the view restricted. In August 2026 a guest paying CHF 1,200 a night⁷ opened the window onto a concrete wall: the hotel was full, and the 30% discount came only after a complaint. For the mountains outside your window there is the Cosy Room Mountain View, facing south.

The lowest price for one night for 2 adults, tax in; it comes without the room. 68 nights have a price between 15 December 2026 and 4 September 2027, with a middle night of CHF 1,396. The Christmas and New Year rules come from the 2026-27 winter rate card: ask for confirmation when you book.

Same room, same cancellation. That night a reseller, SKYLARK, asks CHF 1,712, CHF 7 under the hotel: on Google there is only its price, and its own site names the room. On Sunday 27 June only HolidayCheck at CHF 1,062 and Booking.com at CHF 1,063 appear on Google, with a price alone: ask which room they buy.

5 things to settle before paying

Choose between breakfast and the meal credit
The credit costs CHF 110 more a night, and on 12 January it came with different cancellation terms. Booking through another site, ask which of the 2 rates you are buying.
Ask what the room looks out on
The Cosy Room has a restricted view: ask whether yours faces the hillside or a wall, and what a move to a south-facing room costs that night.
Get the last free day in writing
The date on your confirmation is the one that counts, and it changes with the rate: on 12 January, with breakfast, it was 14 days ahead. Put it in your diary when it arrives.
If 1 night fails, try more
Where a single night has no price, ask for a longer stay and for the rate called The Art of Staying Longer.
Plan where the credit goes
At Le Grand or from room service it is worth CHF 100 a head, in the other restaurants CHF 50. From 7pm men wear a jacket in Le Grill, the Bar du Grill and the Veranda of Le Grand.

The Cosy Room³ is from 28 m² with a double bed, a bath and a writing corner, for 2, and it faces north with what the hotel itself calls a restricted view. The Cosy Room Mountain View⁹ faces south, also for 2: in late June it costs CHF 1,160 with breakfast against CHF 902, and the difference buys the view. When a figure on Google comes without the room, ask which of the 2 it buys.

Is half board (Halbpension) included?

Only as a credit, on the Best Available Rate: CHF 100 a head a day for lunch or dinner, with no set menu. The breakfast-only rate has none and costs CHF 110 less.

Does the price include tax?

Service, VAT and taxes are in the hotel’s rates, but it does not name the tourist tax (Kurtaxe). Ask for the total in writing, with the tourist tax shown.

Is the spa extra?

No, for guests aged 4 or over, on both rates. Treatments are charged.

When is the hotel closed?

From 7 March to 19 June 2027 and again from 5 September, spa and restaurants with it. Winter opens on 15 December 2026, summer on 20 June 2027.
