The Ned London prices: a Cosy from the hotel costs £362 on a March Saturday

The Ned London prices buy a night in Lutyens’ old Midland Bank and, booked direct, the 20-metre pool in the basement. On Saturday 6 March a Cosy for 2 costs £362, VAT in; I’d come on a Friday or Saturday, the cheapest nights here.

Who it suits

It suits you if

Your stay falls on a weekend: this is a City hotel, and a typical Friday or Saturday costs £315 or £316, about £125 less than a Tuesday or Wednesday.

When it costs less

Better elsewhere if

You need London in November: the typical night costs £472, and on the dearest nights the hotel has only studios and suites left, from £996.

Month by month

The weekend costs less than the week

The Ned is a City hotel, and here the week moves the price more than the season: on Google1 a typical Friday costs £315 and a Saturday £316, against £440 on a Tuesday and £442 on a Wednesday. January and August are the light months, at £314 and £318 a night; June is the dear one, at £476. November has the tallest nights, up to £930, and on those the hotel has no simple room left: on 10 November its first room3 is a Stairwell Studio at £1,139.

For Saturday 6 March the hotel3 sells its Cosy at £362 on Ned’s Winter Escape, free to cancel until 6pm 3 days before. Hotels.com2 sells the same Cosy for £340 and Expedia.co.uk for £354, both with free cancellation; Super.com asks £310, and on Google that comes as a price alone: its own site names the room. The difference is the spa: the hotel6 gives the gym and the pool only to guests who book with it, and in February 2026 a guest who came through Booking.com was asked for £15 each11 to swim. For 2 that is £30, more than the £22 saved.

Winter Escape takes 15% off for bookings made before 30 November 2026, with free cancellation until 6pm 3 days before arrival; on 6 March the Prepaid Rate costs the same £362, but it is never refunded. What every bill4 does carry is a discretionary 5% accommodation service charge, shared among the staff, which the £362 leaves out.

Guests11 notice it. In March 2026 one called it a practice imported from the US; in July 2026 another, who had prepaid £2,100 for 3 nights, found £80 of discretionary charges on the folio, and watched other guests at the desk decline to look at theirs. £80 is under 5% of that stay, with or without VAT, so ask what the 5% is worked on.

5 things to settle before paying

  • Read the bill before you sign

The 5% is discretionary: if you don’t want it, say so at check-out.

  • Book Winter Escape before 30 November

After that date, ask which rate replaces it. Before you confirm, read the cancellation line in the basket.

  • Book direct if you want the spa

With an agency, ask before you pay whether the gym and spa are included.

  • Do not book for the rooftop pool

It belongs to members and their guests: a hotel guest can only take children up, from 7am to 10am. In May 2026 a guest booked for that pool and could not use it.

  • Bring the card you paid with

A prepaid booking needs that card at check-in, and the hotel takes a pre-authorisation.

The Cosy6 is the entry room online: 20–30 m², a queen bed, a rain shower, 1920s wallpaper. That March Saturday, on Winter Escape, the Medium adds a king bed at £447 and the Large a super king at £591. The history starts upstairs: Heritage rooms7 sit on the Grade I-listed fifth floor, at £617 that night, and the Lutyens Suite is on the seventh. Stairwell Studios, at £744, sleep a family of 4.

Is Expedia cheaper than the hotel?

On 6 March Expedia.co.uk sells the same Cosy at £354, £8 under the hotel and cancellable, but an agency booking leaves out the spa. On 9 February Booking.com, Agoda and Expedia.co.uk ask £514 on Google, a pound under the hotel’s cancellable Cosy: before you pay, check on their own site that it is the same room with the same terms.

Do I need to be a member?

No, the hotel is open to everyone. Members and their guests get the rooftop and The Vault.

Pick a weekend, book with the hotel, and read the folio before you sign
