The Venetian gondola ride: $39 a person, indoors only this season

For $39 and about 10 to 13 minutes, a Venetian gondola ride takes you along a canal on Level 2 of a shopping mall. Only the indoor route runs now: the outdoor lagoon is shut for the season, with no reopening date.

Is the gondola worth it

Why go

An indoor outing with children of any age, with a gondolier who sings.

The ride

When to wait

Open air and the Strip come back only with the outdoor route; until then the view is the Shoppes and their cafés.

Indoor or outdoor

From the desk to the last boat

  • Be early

With a booked slot, reach the launch 15 minutes ahead1.

  • Under the bridges

The boat goes under bridges and past cafés1, steered with a long oar and no motor4 by a gondolier in a striped shirt and straw hat.

  • Gondolier March

The gondoliers perform in unison along the indoor canal4, usually at 9.45am and 4.20pm: ask at the desk before you time your coffee around it.

  • 15 minutes before closing

So 9.45pm from Sunday to Thursday1 and 10.45pm on Friday and Saturday.

Questions about the Venetian gondola ride

Can I ride without staying at The Venetian?

Yes. The tickets sell to anyone2; there’s no room key to show.

Can I buy a gondola ticket on the day?

Only at the desk: same-day tickets aren’t sold online2. A busy day can sell out, so book ahead if the date matters.

Do children pay?

From age 2, the full price1 applies: no child rate. Under-2s ride free2.

Does the gondolier really sing?

Yes: gondoliers know the classic Italian songs4, and the resort promises it1 in as many words.

Check whether your date is a $34 one, then buy online for a set time
