Hotel marketing plan and the work in it

Hotel marketing plan from Lumina: every month, one page on what to sell and why, drawn from your reviews, your competitors, demand and what is on in town. Lumina then makes the work in the plan, from the offer and its page to the newsletter and the posts, and publishes it once you approve. It is for hotels with 25 rooms or more, groups and chains; smaller hotels start free and pay as you go.

One page a month then the work in it

Lumina reads your reviews, your competitors, travellers’ searches and what is on in town before it writes the plan, and remembers what you tell it. Every piece of work in the plan arrives finished and waits for your OK.

What a hotel marketing plan includes

One page a month. Lumina reads what guests say, what travellers search, what competitors launch and what is on in town, and turns it into the three or four moves worth making. Each move names its work, its date and who approves it: the offer and its page, the newsletter, the posts, the ads. Lumina also asks for four figures only the hotel has: how full you are, how fast bookings arrive compared with last year, what your email list has been doing and your budget. Answering takes about ten minutes, and the answers change what the plan recommends. Try a monthly marketing brief free on your hotel.

Where does Lumina find what to sell?

In the reviews first, because guests describe themselves there in detail. For one five-star property Lumina read 3,600 reviews and grouped them into a handful of guests who turn up again and again, by why they came and what they noticed. Each month the plan picks the guest who matters most for the dates that need selling. For Ostro, a sample hotel on a cove, couples from Germany, Switzerland and the UK keep praising the terrace at sunset and the spa in the rock, so a quiet month starts there: an offer for two, built around the evening on the terrace.

Why local events belong in the plan

Lumina asked ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity about the big annual event in the cities of two five-star hotels. Between 53 and 69 per cent of the time, the answer named the hotel. Neither hotel had a single page about that event: AI assistants were recommending them for something they had never written down. That is a month of work with its own deadline, because the event has a date. When the plan finds an event like this, the move comes with its pieces: a page that answers what travellers ask about the event, an offer for its dates and an email to past guests. Hotel SEO services.

Who are a hotel’s real competitors?

Lumina checked the first page of Google for 100 searches per hotel, the kind a guest makes before choosing anywhere. The city hotel reached the top ten 9 times, every one a search for its own name. The resort reached it 0 times. Across the 200 searches neither hotel held the answer box at the top; Booking.com, Tripadvisor and a competing chain did. Lumina had listed seven five-star rivals for each hotel, and 70 per cent of that list was wrong: the sites in the same searches were Booking.com, Expedia, Tripadvisor and the big chains’ parent companies. The plan uses both lists. The five-star rivals decide what to say; the booking sites decide where to show up.

From the plan to finished work

Each move in the plan arrives as finished work in your hotel’s voice. Tell Lumina the terrace is empty after October, and it comes back with a winter offer: three nights, the third on the house, with the offer page, an email to past guests and two posts ready for your OK. Ask for a change in a sentence and Lumina makes it everywhere. Once you approve, it publishes the work and tells you every week what is live and what is waiting for you. When your reviews or a competitor give a reason, Lumina also brings work you did not ask for, with the first pieces started. Hotel email marketing.

Questions

How much does a hotel marketing plan cost?

The plan, with the work in it, is part of your marketing team: a monthly fee set by the size of your hotel, agreed with you on the demo. Hotels under 25 rooms and single tasks pay as you go, free to start. Groups and chains get volume pricing.

Do we have to replace our agency?

No. Lumina works with your agency: the plan tells it which dates need selling, to which guest and with what message, so its briefs come back sharper, and Lumina makes the work itself where nobody has the time.

What does Lumina need from us?

Access to your website, your brand guidelines and photographs, and your priorities for the next three months. Then four figures only you have: how full you are, how fast bookings arrive compared with last year, what your email list has been doing and your budget. Without them, the plan starts from what your hotel shows in public and says what it still needs from you.

How long does each plan cover?

One month, and the guest who decides it. A plan for a whole quarter gets rewritten before the quarter ends, because rates and bookings move faster than that. Your priorities for the next three months stay in view, and each month’s plan picks the moves for the dates in front of you.

Is the plan written by AI?

Yes, and that is the point. Lumina is an AI built for hotels: it knows your brand, your rooms, your reviews and everything you have told it, so the plan and the work in it read like someone who knows your hotel wrote them. Because it is an AI, the work comes back the same day and the price is set by your rooms, not by the hour. So the budget you spend on marketing today buys the work that never got done: the event nobody promoted, the strength nobody wrote about, the guest nobody spoke to. Nothing goes out until you approve it.
