Giraffe Manor prices: per person, per night, and what the rate covers

Giraffe Manor is not priced night by night on any calendar. On 11 October 2026 Google Hotels showed no price for any of the 385 nights to 31 October 2027, and it had shown none 10 days earlier. The price is a rack rate, per person, that The Safari Collection prints once a year on rate sheets linked from its site. We read the 2026 and 2027 sheets on 1 October 2026, by hand from the page images. On 11 October the site still linked both, but the reader showed only their covers, so every rate on this page is the one transcribed 10 days earlier. That day the hotel’s own page still gave «From $1,413 pp», full board and arrival and departure transfers included.

For 2026 the sheet gives $1,413 per adult per night sharing one of the 10 Superior Rooms, $974 per child sharing and $2,218 for a guest alone in a room. The 2 family suites, Karen Blixen and Finch Hatton, have a minimum room rate of $4,832 a night for up to 2 adults and 2 children, and $622 for a third child. 2 adults in a Superior Room pay $2,826 a night, on 15 October as on 16 November 2026: the sheet has one rate from 1 January to 31 December.

The 2027 sheet raises every line by about 10%: $1,554 per adult sharing, $1,071 per child, $2,440 for a single room, $5,315 for a family suite and $684 for a third child. 2 adults pay $3,108 a night, $282 more than in 2026. The manor is closed from 12 April to 4 May 2027, as it was from 10 April to 10 May 2026.

Take 2 adults for 2 nights in February 2027: $6,216. The booking terms ask for 30% of that, $1,864.80, to confirm, and for the balance 45 days before arrival. Nothing is added for tax, because VAT is in the rate. What can be added is what the sheet leaves out: Champagne, luxury spirits, selected wines, cigars, spa treatments and tips, which the hotel’s own page calls entirely discretionary.

What is inside is most of a day. The hotel’s page lists breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, all drinks except premium spirits, wines and Champagne, laundry, Wi-Fi and entry to the Giraffe Centre, together with the swimming pool, steam room, sauna, hot tub and gym of The Retreat next door. Transfers to and from the manor within Nairobi are included during check-in and check-out times: the earliest pick-up is at 11.30am, the latest at 11pm, and departure is planned for 9.45am. Rooms are ready from noon and given up by 10am, with no early arrival and no late departure.

Lower figures are still in circulation. A safari agent’s guide quotes $875 per person, which it gives as the 2021 rate, and a Business Insider writer paid $2,336 for 2 in a review published in February 2024. Neither is a current price. Residents of Kenya pay the same rate as visitors, the hotel says.

Guests who write about the price on Google mostly settle the question the same way. One, in September 2026, wrote that it may seem expensive and is worth every penny; another, in March 2026, that it is worth the price tag. A party of 5 who came for one night in August 2026 found the drinks included and good, down to the gin at a make-your-own cocktail bar, and advised 2 nights for anyone who can afford them. A couple in January 2026 slept in Edd, a room the giraffes do not come to, and judged the night worth the money all the same.

Because the price is per person, the question is who travels, not when. From 2026 to 2027 every line rises by about 10%; from a couple in a Superior Room to a family of 4 in a suite, the night goes from $2,826 to $4,832.
