Other Sunday tablesCounters from France, Asia and the Mediterranean
What the Ritz says of its Sunday buffet, and what guests of the past year found on it.
Le Grand Brunch takes over the hotel’s salons on Sunday. The page’s text says no more about the room; the caption the Ritz gives its own photograph of the buffet reads «Buffet under the glass roof». The hotel describes several buffets in one, «a voyage by land and sea» with stops in Asia and the Mediterranean, French specialities, plant-based dishes, and cakes and pastries made in the house. The cooking is done in view of the room, to a piano.
The Ritz credits the buffet to its métiers de bouche, which its English page lists as «de-scaling», cheese-making, baking and pastry-making. 2 guests who came in February 2026 thanked «les trois écaillers», the 3 oyster openers, for their good humour, and an Italian chef for a conversation about Calabria. The pastry has belonged since January 2026 to Olivier Lainé, the head pastry chef, who numbers the Sunday brunch among the 6 menus he is responsible for.
The pages read list no dishes, so the detail comes from those who have eaten there. A guest in March 2026 found salads, seafood, cold meats and cheeses to start, then main dishes, the seafood above all, a cheese table and the desserts. One who went in June 2025, without staying at the hotel, listed French cooking beside Italian, Lebanese and Spanish, a salad bar, and chefs behind each counter ready to advise; among the desserts was a fraisier.
The card gives 2 prices and names what they cover in a line each: for an adult, the buffet, a glass of champagne, «entertainment» and a wide choice of desserts; for a child of 4 to 12, the same without the glass. No drink beyond the champagne is named in the price, so whether coffee, tea, juice or water are inside it is not established. One guest in January 2026 noted that fruit juice came in carafes.
That guest is the sharpest critic of the buffet among the reviews read. At €235, he wrote, he expected crêpes and pancakes cooked when ordered and juice pressed when ordered, and found neither. A guest of June 2025 recommended the brunch and added that it does not come cheap. The 2 guests of February 2026 had thought the Sunday service at Le Meurice the best in Paris until that morning at the Ritz; a family in September called the brunch generous, and a couple who brought a small daughter on 14 June 2026 thanked the dining room and the kitchen alike. A visitor who wrote in April 2026 of going «for a brunch» waited 15 minutes without anyone taking the order; the review speaks of menus and does not say it was the Sunday buffet.
Some Sundays are dressed for an occasion: the hotel says the brunch takes on a theme for special dates, and its terms single out a Bastille Day brunch. On such dates the booking rules harden, as the table below shows.
5 things to settle before you go
- Reserve ahead
The Ritz recommends a reservation for brunch, and takes a card imprint to hold it.
- The service begins
The hours the hotel gives end at 2.30pm, 2 hours 45 minutes later.
- Smart, on a Sunday too
The hotel’s dress code applies; in the restaurants, elegant shorts are tolerated until 5pm.
- Give their ages
Those of 4 to 12 pay €150. The card prices no younger child: ask when you book.
- Cancel 72 hours ahead
Inside 72 hours each seat is charged at €235, or the prepayment is kept.
