Summer Island Maldives: all inclusive, villa and dining

Summer Island Maldives all inclusive covers 3 meals a day, a set list of drinks at the Nevi bar from 9am to midnight, afternoon tea at 4.30pm and one snorkelling trip a day. The speedboat, the snorkelling equipment and anything off the list are paid for separately.

Why choose Summer Island

Couples and families who eat 3 meals at the resort and drink beer, house wine and the cocktail of the day.

The plan

When to look elsewhere

Anyone who wants premium brands on the plan or a choice of bars: outside the 2 villa categories, the plan’s drinks are poured at Nevi only.

Before choosing

Choose the room, then follow the dining plan

2 restaurants and 2 bars, and a room category that decides between them.

Samuga is the main restaurant, an international buffet; Hiya stands over the water and serves, in the resort’s words, “exclusive fusion buffets with its own a la carte menu”. Which of the 2 is yours is fixed by the room, and so is Avi: the overwater bar, which the resort presents with live music, pours all-inclusive drinks only for guests of the Water Villas and Premium Beach Villas. Everyone else on the plan drinks at Nevi.

A Water Villa has a deck with direct access to the lagoon and a Jacuzzi bath; it takes 2 adults, and children are not allowed. Premium Beach Villas have the Jacuzzi bath too, on the beach. Neither has a pool: the one private pool on the island is The Summer House’s.

Superior Beach and Superior Vista are the same 41 m² on different floors: the Beach rooms on the ground floor, with a veranda towards the sand, the Vista rooms upstairs, with a terrace level with the palm trees. Both eat at Samuga and drink at Nevi.

5 choices for Summer Island Maldives

  • Start with your party

Water Villas take 2 adults and no children. The ordinary land categories sleep 3 adults or 2 adults and one child; The Summer House is the exception, with 6 adults or 4 adults and 2 children.

  • Check the restaurant

Garden Rooms and the 3 Superior categories eat at Samuga, a buffet; Water Villas and Premium Beach Villas at Hiya, over the water, a semi-buffet. Both menus rotate over 14 days.

  • Separate the journey

The airport transfer, by speedboat or seaplane, is compulsory and charged apart from the room.

  • Compare ground floor and upstairs

Superior Beach and Superior Vista are both 41 m². The first opens from a veranda towards the beach; the second is upstairs, with a terrace level with the palm trees.

  • Read the room and plan together

The plan’s drinks are poured at Nevi, the beach bar on the sunset side, which also serves afternoon tea with coffee and snacks from 4.30 to 5.30pm.

Meals, drinks and the boat trip

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner: at Samuga for Garden Room, Superior Bungalow, Superior Beach and Superior Vista guests, at Hiya for Water Villa and Premium Beach Villa guests. The sheet names no restaurant for The Summer House.
  • Drinks: regular brands of whisky, brandy, rum and vodka, draught beer, house wine by the glass, mineral water, canned juice, soft drinks and a daily cocktail, chosen from 7 drinks on a menu that alternates weekly. Nevi pours them from 9am to midnight, with afternoon tea from 4.30 to 5.30pm. Avi pours them from 11am to midnight, only for all-inclusive guests staying in Water Villas or Premium Beach Villas.
  • One snorkelling trip a day, without the equipment: mask, snorkel and fins are compulsory, 5 guests warn between June 2023 and September 2026, and can be hired. Drinks are served opened. Excursions not listed in the plan, special dinners, diving, spa treatments and the compulsory transfer are charged separately.
  • All-inclusive ends when you check out at 12 noon. 2 guests writing in March 2025 had to wait several more hours for their boat. Premium brands, which Avi serves, are not on it, and the sheet does not put the minibar on it either. The sheet gives no booking deadline, minimum stay, deposit or cancellation terms.

The resort counts 156 rooms in 7 categories. It does not say whether the sizes include the terrace. The earlier total of 157 kept in the guide conflicts with the 156 rooms in the resort’s catalogue and fact sheet, consulted on 5 October 2026.

  • The resort reviews

Guests are divided. 2 in 2026 advise taking the all-inclusive, because food and drink bought one by one are dear; one found half board enough (May 2025), another that the all-inclusive was not worth taking (February 2026). The reviews we read are on the hotel’s page: Summer Island Maldives

Questions about the all-inclusive

Who has all-inclusive drinks at Avi?

Guests of the Water Villas and Premium Beach Villas, from 11am to midnight. Everyone else on the plan drinks at Nevi, from 9am to midnight.

Do Water Villas have private pools?

No. Water Villas and Premium Beach Villas have a Jacuzzi bath, and a Water Villa a deck with direct access to the lagoon. The only private pool is The Summer House’s.

Does a nightly headline include the speedboat?

No. The return airport transfer is compulsory and paid separately: US$195 an adult and US$97.50 a child until 31 October 2026, US$198 and US$99 from 1 November. The resort quotes roughly 45 minutes by speedboat or 15 by seaplane. The price read on Google on 5 October 2026 is not shown to include the transfer, and the figure alone does not show which board it is for.

Are Superior Beach and Vista the same room?

The same size, 41 m², on different floors: Superior Beach on the ground floor, with a veranda towards the beach; Superior Vista upstairs, with a terrace and a view of the sea. Both are on the same plan, at Samuga.

How many units does the owner list?

156, in 7 categories: 7 Garden Rooms, 52 Superior Bungalows, 30 Superior Beach, 30 Superior Vista, 16 Premium Beach Villas, 20 Water Villas and The Summer House.
