The Peninsula Paris, L’Oiseau Blanc Paris rooftop in winter: menus and rules

L’Oiseau Blanc in Paris is a rooftop table with 2 Michelin stars and, this winter, its bar: the summer terrace has closed for the season. Weekday lunch costs €125 a person, beside a replica of the 1927 biplane.

Who L’Oiseau Blanc suits in winter

Why go up

At noon the Seasonal Flight brings mussels, potato with caviar, pollock and fig to the table, service included.

The menus

When to look elsewhere

That menu disappears on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, and a drink with no dinner is simpler at Le Bar Kléber, which takes no bookings.

Without the lunch

A plane lost in 1927, above Paris

The name comes from a flight: in 1927 Charles Nungesser and François Coli1 left Le Bourget to cross the Atlantic in a biplane called L’Oiseau Blanc. The replica in the courtyard beside the dining room is 75% of full size, and the plane comes back on Bernardaud’s plates.

David Bizet spent 18 years at the George V1, winning his first star at L’Orangerie in 2017, then moved to Le Taillevent and took a second in January 2020. His cooking looks back to the Perche, where he grew up.

Hare à la royale is his autumn dish: the recipe won him a world title1, and it arrives in 2 courses8, with a herbed haunch, radicchio, mimolette and sea buckthorn.
