For a direct booking3, city tax is separate from the accommodation rate, which already includes VAT and other applicable taxes. I would ask for the stay’s bill with that item set out for the guests and nights booked. The calendar’s starting price cannot settle it on its own.

Q: There are 2 of us: can we book a Creator Queen?

No: the Creator Queen2 takes one guest. For 2 I would book Creator King or Wizard King; the Triple sleeps up to 3 with a king and a queen. None takes an extra bed. Settle that detail early, particularly when travelling with a child and a single-room rate looks tempting.

Q: Can I cancel if the work trip falls through?

Choose a refundable rate. The general terms3 require notice up to 24 hours before the check-in date for rates that give a refund right. Special and non-refundable offers may work differently. With an assignment still to be confirmed, that option is part of why I would choose the room.

Q: What about a week working in Milan?

I would open Stay Longer4, with bands of 2–7, 8–14 and 15–30 nights. Get the price for the complete visit, adding breakfast if wanted. Summing 7 separately priced nights does not book that week. Staying for 8 nights already moves you into another band.

Q: Can I add breakfast?

Yes, Stay Longer4 offers it as an addition. For a short stay, choose the rate with the inclusions you want. If I know I need to leave early for work each morning, I would decide where to have breakfast before picking an offer: the room is one expense, but the start of the day may look different.

I would start with December and the Creator King

December has the lightest typical night at €103¹, against €218 in September. I would feel that difference on the bill before worrying about which room to choose. For a weekend that can move, December is worth the first look. If work brings me here in September, I start with that larger budget, rather than the lowest figure I have seen beside the hotel’s name. Individual nights still move within each month; the calendar below shows how far apart they can be.

On 20 November, a Creator King costs €156 with Booking.com¹, while the calendar starts at €126. For that King I would allow €156: this is the rate that names the room. The lower figure catches my eye, but before choosing it I want the bed for 2 and to know whether breakfast comes with it. If the Milan appointment could still fall through, being able to cancel matters too. Those choices change the stay as well as what it costs.

The Creator Queen² is for someone arriving alone. Creator King and Wizard King take 2, with a reading corner in the Wizard. The Triple has a king and a queen for up to 3 guests. Extra beds are unavailable in these rooms. With a child or a friend, I would book the category that accommodates the whole party from the start. Reading “Queen” as a bed name is not enough: here it is the name of a room for one.

For work that lasts several days, I would also open Stay Longer⁴. Its bands are 2–7, 8–14 and 15–30 nights, with breakfast available as an addition. I would price the complete visit: adding 7 separate nightly rates does not produce the price of that week. The boundary between 7 and 8 nights, or 14 and 15, deserves a look while the return date is still open. An extra night changes the band; it does not automatically promise a saving.

Creator Queen sleeps one; Creator King and Wizard King take 2. The Triple sleeps up to 3, with a king and a queen. Children stay free up to and including age 7 in the categories that state it, but this does not add a bed to the room. With a child I would choose the accommodation before being drawn to the single-room price.

Its bands cover 2–7, 8–14 and 15–30 nights, and you can add breakfast. For a longer assignment I would ask for the complete stay with that choice already made, so I know what it costs to sleep here until the day I go home.

The Creator Queen² looks the natural choice for arriving alone: its capacity is one guest. Creator King is for 2 sharing a bed; Wizard King adds a reading corner. The Triple gives you a king and a queen, sleeping up to 3. These are 4 categories with different uses, and none takes an extra bed. Children stay free up to and including age 7 where the category states it; I would still begin with the beds the family needs. A room name matters more than a broad promise of value. Here I want to recognise the category I am booking, including its capacity to accommodate everyone coming with me.

I would budget more for September than December

For a trip that can move, I would choose the lighter month; for a fixed appointment, I would look at the nights around it. December and January are usually cheaper than late spring, with September rising again. Even November has a single night dearer than December’s maximum. The season alone cannot settle when to travel.
