If you rarely eat lunch, compare half board too. The included minibar contains soft drinks; bars and restaurants serve package drinks during their opening hours.

Leave the sand for a boardwalk above the water, or take the pontoon to a different dinner table.

Veli reopened after refurbishment in December 2022; it now has 67 villas. The water villas were redecorated in whites, soft blues, wood and stone. Anantara’s February 2023 article also describes the new Beach Pool Villas and an extra branch of the jetty. Today’s 7 categories offer a choice of sand or lagoon. (resort, reopening, villas).

The first crossing is by speedboat, with transfers available around the clock. An airport host meets you before the private lounge; cold towels and chilled water await on board. Anantara gives a journey time of 30 minutes, Booking.com 35, subject to sea conditions. A VIP seaplane is also available on quotation. (arrival, fine print).

The spa above the water is on Dhigu. Veli’s Balance Wellness has a hammam and sauna, with hot and cold plunge pools in the garden. Dinner changes the view again: stay on the island for South Asian cooking at Cumin, or walk above the lagoon for Thai food at Baan Huraa. (spa, dining).

The pool and Dhoni Bar

Dhoni Bar opens at 10am beside the main pool, with light lunch from 10am to 4pm. The bar is for guests aged 18 and over. (dining).

The 66 m² Over Water Villa has lagoon steps and a sundeck with a daybed and coffee table. The 111 m² Over Water Pool Villa adds a private pool; the 145 m² Beach Pool Villa opens onto the sand. For 3 nights from 16–19 November, Anantara.com was $1,088/night for an Ocean Pool Villa, with breakfast and free cancellation until 17 October on the Google card; Bluepillow was $994/night without a named villa or meal plan. Is Anantara Veli exclusively all-inclusive?

No. You can book breakfast or half board, or choose a breakfast-and-dinner offer. All Inclusive Indulgence adds the plan’s lunches and selected drinks. (plan, Stay Longer).

Is Baan Huraa included without a limit?

The plan gives $60 dinner credit per adult against the net bill on operating days, also at Sea Fire Salt and Origami including teppanyaki. Special menu items and promotions are excluded (terms).

Are alcohol and the minibar included?

Yes: the alcoholic and soft drinks selected for the package menu, during outlet opening hours. The included minibar contains soft drinks and is replenished daily. (plan).

Can families from Dhigu dine here?

Cumin and Origami accept families staying at Dhigu from 6.30 to 9.30pm. Dhoni Bar is for guests aged 18 and over; Veli stays remain reserved for adults aged 18 and over (dining).
