La Terrazza opens
La Terrazza opens every day from 6pm to midnight and pours from the same list as the Bvlgari Bar. It stays closed in the rain, and the events page has it closed for the winter.
La Terrazza at Bulgari Hotel Roma is the hotel’s rooftop bar in Rome: a roof garden of pergolas, glazed pots and a mosaic fountain, with the Mausoleum of Augustus just beyond the parapet. It opens at 6pm and stays shut in rain and, by the events page, in winter.

You want a sunset drink above the Mausoleum of Augustus, your table waiting and the Bvlgari Bar’s list in hand.
The terraceYou want a rooftop in winter, at lunchtime or without booking: La Terrazza opens only in the evening and shuts for winter, while the Hotel de la Ville’s Cielo opens at noon and takes no reservations.
Other rooftopsAbove, more than 200 glazed pots and a fountain; below, beyond the parapet, the Mausoleum of Augustus. This roof garden was made for looking down.
The building is 1930s Rationalist, 7 storeys high on Piazza Augusto Imperatore, the hotel says; the Bulgari opened in it in June 2023, and the MICHELIN Guide gives it 3 Keys.
The garden is modelled on a Roman terrace, the hotel says: more than 200 glazed pots of local plants, set on a herringbone floor around a mosaic fountain.
Then there is the view, which the events page lists like an itinerary: the Mausoleum of Augustus, St Peter’s, the Tiber, the Pantheon, Piazza Venezia, the Quirinale, the Spanish Steps and Villa Medici.
To work out when La Terrazza is worth the climb, we read 9 pages and menus on the hotel’s website, watched the 3 videos shot up there and searched the 549 Google reviews with text among the 905 we gathered. The season was the grey area, and guests only half clear it up: 7 reviews posted between November and January describe an aperitivo on the terrace or at its bar, while one from April 2025 found it not yet open. Outside summer, the booking system has the final word.
Come up a little early and lean over the edge: below you is the square, with the Mausoleum at its centre. If the evening carries on to dinner on the fifth floor, that table is booked separately.
La Terrazza opens every day from 6pm to midnight and pours from the same list as the Bvlgari Bar. It stays closed in the rain, and the events page has it closed for the winter.
The house cocktail, the Bvlgari Cocktail, is €25 on the bar’s list; the other signatures go up to €35 and alcohol-free drinks are €18. To go with them, the terrace menu runs from bites at €12 to €25 up to caviar blinis at €40, VAT and service included.
For dinner, go down one floor: Il Ristorante serves from 7 to 11pm and has its own terrace over the Mausoleum, with a tasting menu from €180.
After dinner has its own slot: for the evening of 29 September 2026 the booking system offered tables from 9 to 10.30pm, with earlier times on request only.
At midnight La Terrazza closes, but the night can carry on downstairs: the Bvlgari Bar on the ground floor stays open until 1am.
From the Bulgari’s portico the centre’s other hotel rooftops are all within walking distance: 4 minutes to Etere, 11 to Cielo, 13 to the Cesàri, 14 to Jim’s.

Staying the night after the terrace? Choose the room by its window: the best look over the square and the Mausoleum.

The rooms and suites, on the hotel’s pageWhat their pages promise, and how many minutes’ walk each is from the Bulgari.
Within a quarter of an hour’s walk of the Bulgari there are 4 more hotel rooftops, each with its own rules: Palazzo Ripetta’s Etere, 4 minutes away, opens from April to October; the Hotel de la Ville’s Cielo, 11 minutes, every day from noon with no bookings; the 9Hotel Cesàri’s terrace on Piazza di Pietra is 13 minutes; the Singer Palace’s Jim’s Rooftop 14. The bill changes too: a cocktail is €16 at the Cesàri and €26 at Cielo. Search for a rooftop bar in Rome and Google shows its map and the guides’ lists before any hotel’s own page, and on 28 September 2026 the Bulgari’s La Terrazza was nowhere among those results.

Of the 905 Google reviews read on 27 September 2026, 549 have text and 121 mention the terrace or the rooftop: 105 give 4 or 5 stars. Guests write about the view over Rome, the aperitivo and the cocktails, and the staff who serve them. Between 2023 and 2025 waits at the table recur too, and those who came up without a booking did not always get the table they wanted: tables are booked online, before you go up.
The season, the table, the bill and the view: what people ask before heading up to a rooftop bar in Rome.
No, according to the events page, which lists it as temporarily closed for the winter. The rooftop’s own page, though, gives only the hours, 6pm to midnight, with no season, and the booking system was taking tables until October 2026. When it rains it stays closed either way.
Yes, going by the reviews, which describe drinks up there by people who weren’t staying, and the online booking system is open to anyone. No page of the hotel puts it in writing, though, and it is worth booking a table before going up.
The Bvlgari Cocktail is €25. La Terrazza uses the Bvlgari Bar’s list, where house cocktails go up to €35 and alcohol-free drinks are €18; on the terrace menu bites run from €12 to €25 and wine by the glass from €20 to €85, VAT and service included.

The Mausoleum of Augustus, St Peter’s Basilica, the Tiber, the Pantheon, Piazza Venezia, the Quirinale, the Spanish Steps, Villa Medici and Villa Borghese, the hotel lists. The terrace seats 76, and tables are booked online.
Not in writing: neither the rooftop’s page nor the events page gives one. The Hotel de la Ville’s Cielo, a few minutes’ walk away, does ask guests to avoid sportswear, shorts and beach shoes.
Yes, for up to 100 people, and the terrace can also be set up for smaller parties, the hotel says. The price is not published.
It depends on when you go. On a summer evening, the Bulgari’s La Terrazza looks over the Mausoleum of Augustus, St Peter’s and Villa Medici from 6pm to midnight, with the Bvlgari Cocktail at €25, and 4 minutes’ walk away Palazzo Ripetta’s Etere opens from April to October, with cocktails from €20. All year, at lunchtime and with no booking, there is the Hotel de la Ville’s Cielo above the Spanish Steps, from noon to midnight. The 9Hotel Cesàri’s terrace looks over Piazza di Pietra and has live music on Fridays and Saturdays; the Singer Palace’s Jim’s Rooftop pours 1920s-inspired cocktails.
