Canaves Oia Suites spa: a cave in Oia, the Rasul steam bath and the 2026 prices

The hotel’s wellness page places the spa in «a 17th-century wine cave», while the 2026 menu says only «a natural cave» and lists what it holds: 2 treatment rooms, a nail studio, a sauna, the Rasul steam bath and, outside, a treatment room for couples that looks over the caldera. The products come from 3 houses: Valmont, the Swiss skincare house, Cinq Mondes and Kos Paris.

Massage is the heart of the list. Armonia is the tailored one, with the pressure and oils chosen for the guest; the Oriental ritual works the whole body with hot, scented argan oil; Sparta, by Cinq Mondes, is a sports massage that the menu traces to Hippocrates and the athletes of the Olympic games, with a massage of the head and the nape. Each costs €190 for 55 minutes or €220 for 80. The Lava Shell massage, done with heated seashells, and the Candle massage, with warm wax, last 75 minutes and cost €210. A massage for mothers-to-be is €190 for 55 minutes.

3 rituals are sold by the couple. «Spa with a View» is the simplest: 75 minutes of full-body massage with a head and scalp massage «while enjoying the spectacular Caldera View», at €480; the menu does not name the room, and that it is the outdoor one comes from a guest’s account below. «Getaway in the Cave», 1 hour 40 minutes at €450, starts with body masks in the Rasul and ends in the couples’ room with a 55-minute Armonia, Sparta or Oriental massage. «Ultimate Couples Awakening» takes 2 hours 50 minutes and costs €800: the Rasul with a body mask, an 80-minute massage and a hydrating Valmont facial.

The Rasul deserves a word, because it can be booked alone. The menu credits its design to Paul Haslauer and describes a handcrafted steam chamber with ornate ceramics and a starlit ceiling, where an aromatic body mask is applied and the steam does the rest. It lasts 45 minutes, costs €60 for one person or €100 for 2, and the menu suggests it before a facial or a massage.

The rest of the menu is long for a small spa. Among the facials, Valmont’s «Hydration of the Bisses» is €190 for 50 minutes or €280 for 75, a facial for men €200 for 60 minutes and the 90-minute «L’Elixir des Glaciers» €440; a «Jet Lag Recovery» of skin brushing, body massage, eye mask and head massage is €250 for 75 minutes. Body treatments run from a 30-minute exfoliation at €80 to «Peaks of Slimness» at €190 for 1 hour 30 minutes. 2 packages join the spa to fitness and yoga: «Self Care», 3 hours for €350, with a personal fitness session, the Rasul and an 80-minute Sparta massage, and «Detox Retreat», 2 hours 30 minutes for €250, with yoga, the slimming treatment and a juice.

Guests who mention the spa on Google mostly praise the hands. In May 2026 one called it «a true highlight» after 2 treatments in 3 days; in July 2025 another wrote of the «best massage ever»; in June 2022 a guest spent half a day on the self-care package, with yoga in a private area, the steam bath with scrubs and a massage, and recommended it «to escape the sun». 3 accounts go the other way. In October 2022 a couple who had booked «Spa with a View» were told on arrival that the massage would be indoors because of wind, on a day they found calm, and thought the room tiny. In July 2022 a honeymoon couple who had paid more than €500 were unhappy with their treatments and wrote that nothing came of their complaint by email. And a guest in August 2025 asked about the spa before arriving, was promised a call from its team and never received one.

Canaves Epitome, of the same collection, offers treatments in the suite, on its veranda or on a floating platform in the suite’s infinity pool, beside a menu of Valmont and Cinq Mondes therapies of its own.

Andronis Luxury Suites, also in Oia, has Mare Sanus Spa: a cave spa for adults with 2 treatment rooms and no relaxation lounge, open daily from 10am to 7pm, where an in-suite massage costs 50% more and a cancellation needs 8 hours. Grace Hotel Santorini, in Imerovigli, gives its treatments «always» in the guest’s room, a Greek olive-oil massage among them.
