Four Seasons Firenze suits couples who leave room in a Florence itinerary for the spa and dinner at the hotel, with the lowest seller on Google showing one night taken alone for 2 adults from €1,020. For a trip spent sightseeing until bedtime, I would choose a simpler base.

Like a regular

The small temple and paths in Gherardesca Garden
  1. A king facing the garden

I would ask for a king Four Seasons Room in Palazzo della Gherardesca: 40–59 m², a garden view and a living area. The twin version looks onto residences, streets and the internal courtyard.

  2. The cheaper winter week

In the calendar read on 14 October 2026, one night taken alone from 28 November to 4 December ranged from €1,020 to €1,133 for 2 adults; 25 May 2027 was dearest at €3,598.

  3. The cost of a massage

Set aside at least €210 for a 50-minute Fusion by Sodashi massage, or from €240 for 75 minutes, at the menu prices read on 15 October 2026; the spa recommends reserving ahead.

  4. Before an early start

If Florence starts early for you, the room amenities list coffee and tea service from 5am to 8am. There is time for a cup before heading out for the first walk.

What Four Seasons Firenze is

Behind Borgo Pinti, the pace of Florence changes. Paths cross lawns beneath tall trees, passing a small temple before returning to rooms lined with frescoes. Four Seasons is a base for moving between the city and quiet hours outdoors, with room to pause when the museum itinerary grows busy.

Its catalogue lists 121 rooms and suites across 2 palaces, but the closures matter. MICHELIN reports Palazzo del Nero unavailable through 31 March 2027; Onde and Bar Berni confirm their own closure on the hotel’s website. Other public spaces, the garden, spa and pool continue operating. Palazzo della Gherardesca provides the palazzo stay during this phase.

Entry rooms look onto courtyards, streets and neighbouring buildings. For the garden, consider a king Premier or Four Seasons Room. Historic suites bring decorated ceilings and living rooms; the split-level Duomo View Executive has 2 bathrooms, while the Royal Suite extends through a windowed gallery and several living spaces on Palazzo della Gherardesca’s main floor.

The garden has a pool for the warmer months and a heated whirlpool open all year. The gym covers 205 m²; sauna and steam facilities have separate male and female areas. A 50-minute Fusion massage starts at €210. Non-residents seeking a pool day must book a treatment and pay a separate access fee.

Il Palagio serves dinner beneath decorated ceilings, with a MICHELIN star and seasonal tasting menus. Return to the Atrium for tea or an aperitif; on Sundays Il Palagio serves brunch 12:30 pm–3 pm. Check breakfast against the room rate: the Bed and Breakfast offer includes it, while other offers carry their own terms.

The scores come from 44 Google reviews with text, left from 12 June 2026 to 25 September 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Florence: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 15 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.
