Choose the moment

A drink in a room built around music

The appeal is the room, its musicians and a menu that gives you several ways into the evening.

Wood, velvet, worn-in leather armchairs and low lighting give Le Bar Américain its particular atmosphere. Hôtel de Paris traces its life to 1928 and tells of Frank Sinatra at table 34, alongside visits by Joséphine Baker and other performers. The room’s history is part of its appeal for someone who wants a drink with a sense of place. Come for the bar itself and leave room in the evening for its musicians.

Music is a daily part of that promise: the official description says musicians play live every evening, across jazz, swing, blues, soul and vocals. That is the reason to choose an evening visit if hearing a performance matters to you. Discuss the programme and your intended arrival with the team when planning a particular occasion; the bar’s noon opening also gives you a much earlier, food-led way to visit.

The signature-cocktail section of the digital menu takes its names from Monaco. Carré d’Or brings champagne, Rémy Martin VSOP, lemon and a cognac syrup with thyme and basil. Jardin Exotique combines rum infused with red pepper, pineapple, lime, passion fruit and anisette. Choose the first for its champagne-and-cognac direction, or the second when fruit and spice appeal. The current digital menu gives you a more precise starting point than simply asking for something local.

Larvotto uses gin with bergamot, lemon, rosemary and apricot liqueur; Le Rocher takes rye whiskey towards carob liqueur, orange and chocolate bitters and orange blossom. Marché de la Condamine brings tequila with carrot, cucumber, yuzu and agave, while Mareterra combines vodka, Orangerie liqueur, lychee and Timut pepper. Several of these signatures are listed at €32 each in the digital menu read on 17 October 2026. Choose by the base spirit and flavour you want.

The menu also makes a lower-alcohol section explicit. Jardin Princier uses chamomile-infused vermouth, lemon, cucumber, sugar syrup and tonic; Azur Ambre combines red vermouth, Saint-Germain, rhubarb syrup and sparkling water. Alcohol-free choices include Palomito with grapefruit and yuzu, a spicy virgin margarita and a virgin peach sour. These give people at the same table different ways to take part in the evening. Tell the team your preference for an alcohol-free drink when ordering.

Food changes with the hour. The digital menu’s daytime selection runs noon–7pm and includes salads, sandwiches, burgers, pasta, risotto and a veal Milanese main. A chicken club comes with fries and an option with or without bacon; the burger list also includes a vegetable version. That makes an earlier visit useful when you want a meal in the bar before an evening plan elsewhere in Monte-Carlo.

From 7pm to 11pm, the menu moves to a shorter selection of plates and snacks. Smoked salmon comes with blinis and sour cream; tuna tataki adds black sesame, pickles and ponzu. There are finger focaccia, a toasted finger croque-monsieur with summer truffle, mini burgers, poultry fillets and scampi tempura. Choose the evening food for the dishes themselves while making the cocktail and music the centre of the visit.

The evening has its own etiquette. From 7pm the bar excludes shorts, Bermuda shorts, sandals and sports shoes, and the piano-bar policy welcomes adults only. The information menu also asks guests to respect each other’s privacy by leaving photographs and video out of the visit. Those rules suit an evening where you can put the phone away and settle into the room. Plan your clothes and party accordingly before setting out.

Choose the hour around the reason you are coming

  • Know how access works

Reservations are available to in-house guests only. Walk-ins are welcome subject to availability, so visitors staying elsewhere should plan around the possibility that the bar is full when they arrive.

  • Consider the daytime food menu

The larger food selection runs noon–7pm. It gives an earlier visitor salads, pasta, sandwiches and other dishes in addition to the drinks menu.

  • Arrive dressed for the evening

Adults only are welcomed after 7pm. The dress policy then excludes shorts, Bermuda shorts, sandals and sports shoes; choose your clothes and footwear before leaving for the hotel.

  • Keep the visit private

The information menu prohibits pictures and video in respect of other guests’ privacy. It also excludes regular and electronic cigarettes and heated-tobacco devices inside the bar.

  • Check the size

The digital information menu welcomes small pets under 15kg. Keep that specific limit in mind if a dog is part of your visit.
