I would choose Amanzoe for quiet days around its 2,850 m² spa, with the lowest seller on Google Hotels showing one night for 2 from €1,367 for 3–11 November 2026. For a trip centred on walking to the sea, I would choose a seaside hotel: the Beach Club here is a 10-minute transfer away.

Like a regular

A colonnade with steps descending into a pool of water; beyond it a pedimented pavilion, olive trees and the sea.
  1. A terrace facing the sea

I would ask for the Pool Pavilion Sea View for its outlook over the Aegean: 210 m² of indoor and outdoor space, a 6-metre private pool and an expansive private terrace.

  2. The dated November prices

Read on 13 October 2026, the Google Hotels prices for 6–12 November ranged from €1,253 to €1,367 per night for 2. The dearest night shown was 22 June 2027, at €4,103; 11 April–21 June had no price.

  3. The yacht charter bill

For a private yacht charter, give 24 hours’ notice; its price includes the skipper, diesel, snorkelling equipment, soft drinks and snacks. Ask for the quote with those inclusions in mind.

  4. The early booking terms

The 3-night offer must be booked more than 30 days ahead, and the booking cannot be changed or refunded. Its late checkout is subject to availability.

What Amanzoe is

Amanzoe crowns the hill of Agios Panteleimonas, between Kranidi and Porto Heli, on the east coast of the Peloponnese. It opened in 2012, according to CNA Luxury, and Wallpaper names Ed Tuttle as its architect. The central buildings take their pediments, colonnades and reflecting pools from a Greek temple precinct, and Aman counts 38 pavilions, 3 Beach Pavilions and 12 villas around them.

People come for space and privacy. Every pavilion is a free-standing house of 100 m² with 110 m² of terrace and a pool of 6 or 12 metres; the spa covers 2,850 m²; the restaurants are spread between the hilltop and the shore, and the MICHELIN Guide gives the resort 2 Keys. The sea is at the Beach Club, on a private beach 5 km down the hill, 10 minutes away in the hotel’s cars.

The things to allow for are the journey, the season and the price. Athens airport is 2 hours 45 minutes away by road, the 13 October 2026 reading showed no price from 15 November 2026 to 23 March 2027; the Beach Club is open until 31 October 2026. The lowest seller on Google Hotels showed €1,367 per night for 2 for 3–11 November 2026, read on 13 October 2026; €1,253 on 12 November was a lone low night, and the dearest night shown was €4,103 on 22 June 2027. On Aman’s site, the 8 October 2026 reading showed €1,367 for 7 November.

What makes it rare

A badge is an experience travellers look for, that is really here and that few hotels in the guide have.

What the badges are

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do Amanzoe’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests describe the hilltop, the all-round view of the gulf and the sunsets; the Beach Club is 10 minutes away, with the hotel’s cars taking guests down and back.

  2. Room

Nearly every guest who mentions it is happy with it. Guests write about very large, light-filled pavilions, each with its private pool, its terrace and the view over the olive groves to the sea.

  3. Staff and service

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. What recurs is the attentive staff, who call guests by name, the housekeeping that calls several times a day, the spa and the days at the Beach Club.

  4. Breakfast

Breakfast, included in every rate, is served at The Restaurant from 7 to 11am, on the terrace above the gulf.

  5. Price

The rate covers breakfast, soft drinks and coffee in the room, group yoga and pilates and non-motorised water sports at the Beach Club; lunch, dinner and treatments are charged on top.

The scores come from 223 Google reviews with text, left from 16 September 2012 to 5 September 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay between the Peloponnese and the Athens coast: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 8 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against between the Peloponnese and the Athens coast:

  • Poseidonion Grand Hotel
  • AKS Hinitsa Bay
  • Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino
  • Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens

Questions before you go

The questions people ask before booking Amanzoe, answered from sources read on 8 October 2026.

What kind of hotel is Amanzoe?

An Aman resort on a hilltop near Porto Heli, on the east coast of the Peloponnese, built as a modern acropolis of colonnaded pavilions, reflecting pools and olive gardens. Aman counts 38 pavilions, 3 Beach Pavilions and 12 villas on its events page; the MICHELIN Guide lists 38 rooms, the hillside pavilions alone, and awards 2 Keys.

The resort opened in 2012, according to CNA Luxury; Wallpaper names Ed Tuttle as its architect, and Aman’s site credits him, with Marios Angelopoulos, for Villa 20. Google classes it as a 5-star hotel. The official pages we read give no opening year.

What are the pavilions and villas like, and how big are they?

The official pavilions page lists 4 hillside types, all free-standing and all 210 m² in total, 100 m² indoors and 110 m² of terrace under a pergola: the Pool Pavilion and the Pool Pavilion Sea View with a 6-metre pool, the Deluxe Pool Pavilion and its sea-view twin with a 12-metre pool. Each has a king-size bed in a marble alcove and an open-plan living area. The 3 Beach Pavilions are smaller indoors, 65 m², with 185 m² outside and a heated pool of 9.5 metres, 30 metres from the sea.

On the official booking engine, read on 8 October 2026, a night for 2 on 24 October 2026 cost from €1,889 in a Pool Pavilion, €2,002 in a Deluxe Pool Pavilion, €2,230 with a sea view and €2,400 in a Deluxe Pool Pavilion Sea View, taxes and fees included. On 10 July 2027 the 4 ran from €4,103 to €4,558, and a Beach Pavilion cost €4,558.

The 12 villas have 1 to 9 bedrooms, each with a heated pool, a chef and a host. The one-bedroom Villa 31 holds a Skyspace by James Turrell and a 22-metre pool; the villas of 4, 5 and 6 bedrooms have pools of 24 metres; Villa 20 sleeps 18 on 6 levels. No villa’s floor area is published, and the engine showed no villa rate on the nights read.

Where is Amanzoe, and what is nearby?

On the hill of Agios Panteleimonas, in the municipality of Kranidi, Argolida, postcode 213 00: that is the address on the official site, which places the resort near Porto Heli. Tripadvisor and the MICHELIN Guide file it under Kranidi, the town 6 km inland; Porto Heli’s harbour is 8 km away by road.

By road, calculated on OpenStreetMap on 8 October 2026: the Beach Club 5 km, Kosta, opposite Spetses, 13 km, Ermioni 15 km, the theatre of Epidaurus 52 km, Nafplio 74 km and Mycenae 94 km. The hotel’s experience guide gives 51 km for Epidaurus, 65 for Nafplio and 100 for Mycenae. The resort stands on its own on the hill: Kranidi is 6 km away and the port of Porto Heli 8, and you get about by car.

How do you get to Amanzoe, and how long does it take?

Most guests land at Athens (ATH) and continue by car: 2 hours 45 minutes, says the «Getting here» page, while the home page gives 2.5 hours and OpenStreetMap measures 199 km. The concierge arranges private cars; the 3-night Ultimate Discovery offer includes a one-way airport transfer per room.

A helicopter covers the distance in 25 minutes, by the official site’s figure; it is booked and paid through iFLY, the hotel’s aviation partner. Kalamata airport is a 3-hour drive, 215 km. The MICHELIN Guide adds a 2-hour hydrofoil from Piraeus, a route the official pages leave out.

Is there parking?

Yes. Google lists free self-parking, free valet parking and electric-car charging stations; Tripadvisor and the MICHELIN Guide also list free parking. The official pages print no parking charge.

The villas of 2 to 5 bedrooms come with a «garage or parking space», the 6-bedroom villa with a garage and Villa 20 with «extensive garage space», their official pages say. Down to the beach, guests ride in the hotel’s cars or buggies, reviews of 2026 report.

Is there a beach, and how far is the sea?

Yes, a private one, away from the rooms. The Beach Club lies in a sheltered bay below the hill, a 10-minute complimentary transfer or a downhill bicycle ride from the resort; the road measures 5 km on OpenStreetMap, and Google’s listing says 3 km. Only the 3 Beach Pavilions sleep on the shore.

The club has 4 pools along the beach, loungers in sun and shade, the restaurant Nura, a boutique, a 2-room spa and a gym. Kayaks, paddleboards, windsurfers and snorkelling gear are included; waterskiing, diving and boat charters are charged. In 2026 the club is open until 31 October: a couple who came in November 2025 found it closed, with towels left out for swimmers.

What are the pools like?

The main pool is on the hilltop, beside the Pool Restaurant and Akari’s terrace: an outdoor pool edged with loungers and looking across the Argolic Gulf. The official site gives no measurements for it; the family page adds a toddlers’ splash pool at the resort.

The Beach Club has 4 more pools running the length of the beach, 2 of them for children; the first 2 are «no-splash» pools, the family guide says. Every pavilion and villa has a pool of its own, from 6 metres at a Pool Pavilion to 24 metres at the larger villas, and the spa has a Watsu pool and a heated pool for private sessions. Google lists a lifeguard and an indoor pool.

Are the pools heated, and when are they open?

The private pools are heated. The booking engine describes the pavilions’ as a «private 6m heated pool» or a «private 12m heated pool», the Beach Pavilions page says the same of theirs, and each villa page lists a heated pool. A guest who stayed in November 2024 swam in the pavilion’s pool although the evenings were cool.

No official page says whether the main pool is heated, and none gives its hours. The pools follow the resort’s season, from late March to mid-November; the Beach Club’s 4 close with the club on 31 October in 2026.

Where do you eat, and until when?

The dining page lists 5 restaurants and a bar. The Restaurant, Greek, serves breakfast from 7am to 11am and dinner from 6.30pm to 10pm; Akari, Japanese, serves dinner from 6.30pm to 10pm by the main pool; the Pool Restaurant and Nura, at the Beach Club, serve lunch from 12pm to 5pm; The Bar is open from 9am to midnight. Bostani, a taverna in the kitchen garden, opens seasonally.

The restaurants take non-residents when there is room, and Akari requires them to book. Private dinners are laid in the amphitheatre, in the Library and on the beach. The menus on the site print no prices and note that prices include 13% tax, 24% on alcohol; guests report €45 for a lobster starter in September 2025 and €10 for a pot of tea in June 2026. Reviews written before 2026, and the photo captions on Akari’s own page, call the Japanese restaurant Nama.

What does the rate include, and is there half board?

Every stay includes daily breakfast, soft drinks, coffee and tea in the room, group yoga and Pilates classes and the use of non-motorised watersports equipment at the Beach Club, according to the accommodation page. The transfer to the Beach Club is complimentary, and so are the tennis courts.

No half-board or full-board rate is published. Lunch, dinner and drinks are charged; the 3-night Ultimate Discovery offer adds one 3-course lunch and one signature cocktail per guest. Villas come with a chef and a host; the official pages do not say whether the food the chef cooks is in the rate.

What is the spa like?

It covers 2,850 m², according to the wellness page: treatment suites indoors and out, a Watsu pool, a yoga pavilion, a Pilates studio with reformers, a gym, a finishing salon and a hair salon, and changing areas with a hammam, a sauna, a steam room and a cold plunge. The 2 floodlit tennis courts belong to it.

That page counts 7 treatment suites, 5 indoor and 2 outdoor, plus a facial room; the 2026 spa menu counts 9 rooms, one for Watsu and one for facials among them. A second, smaller spa with 2 treatment rooms and a gym is at the Beach Club. Only natural products are used, and the approach takes its cue from Hippocrates: diet, exercise, massage and sea bathing.

Is the spa included, and can outside guests use it?

What every stay includes are the group yoga and Pilates classes; the tennis courts are free too, the spa menu says. No official page prints a charge for the sauna, steam room, hammam and cold plunge in the changing areas. Treatments are charged, and so is «Private Relaxation», a heated pool and steam room reserved for 30 or 60 minutes.

Outside guests are admitted «upon request and availability», in the menu’s words; no day pass with a published price exists. A visitor in August 2025 spent an afternoon there with massages and the steam room, sauna and cold plunge. The menu’s age policy bars treatments for children under 13 and asks for a parent in the room from 13 to 16, while its own Aman Juniors list offers children a massage, a manicure and a chocolate body mask.

What are the spa’s hours, and do you need to book?

The spa is open daily from 10am to 8pm and the fitness centre from 7am to 10pm, according to the spa menu. It recommends booking in advance and arriving 15 minutes before a treatment, and asks for at least 4 hours’ notice to cancel.

Tennis courts are reserved through the spa reception. Some treatments can be given in the pavilion or villa for an extra charge.

Which treatments are there, and what do they cost?

The menu opens with Aman’s Grounding, Purifying and Nourishing rituals: a massage or a facial of 60 or 90 minutes, a body polish and wrap of 90, or a journey of 180. Amanzoe’s own are Anatripsis, 120 minutes of acupressure, dry brushing, cupping and massage with warm olive oil and beeswax, the Mediterranean Glow, 90 minutes, and a hammam ritual of 120.

There are also jet and radio-frequency facials, Cellgym altitude sessions, Thai and deep-tissue massage, prenatal treatments and a children’s list. The menu on the site prints durations and no prices, noting only that prices are in euros and include tax. A 3-day mobility and recovery programme combines training, contrast therapy and massage.

Is Amanzoe suitable for children?

Yes, at any age, the family guide says. The family page describes a children’s host who runs daily activities at the pool and the Beach Club during the summer months, a games room open from 9am, a cinema lounge, a toddlers’ splash pool at the resort and children’s pools at the Beach Club. All restaurants have children’s menus and seats, and babysitters come on request.

Ages vary by activity in the family guide: swimming, tennis and yoga lessons from 5 to 15, Greek dancing from 6 to 12, horse riding from 8. The Extend Your Stay offer lets children under 12 stay free, 2 to a room; from 12, the villa offers’ terms charge an extra guest €295.27 with tax, for room and breakfast. Children are asked to keep away from the fire pit at sunset.

Can you marry or hold an event at Amanzoe?

Yes. The celebrations page says the resort hosts weddings of all sizes, private dinners, business retreats and incentive trips, and can be taken whole: a full buyout means 38 pavilions, 3 Beach Pavilions and 12 villas. The venues are the amphitheatre, the Beach Club, The Restaurant, the Pool Restaurant, The Bar, the Library, a multipurpose room and the kitchen garden; the fire pit is offered only with the whole resort.

No capacities and no prices are published: the page invites a request for a proposal. A guest at a wedding in September 2025 wrote on Google that it was handled beautifully from start to finish.

Is there a New Year’s Eve dinner?

No: Amanzoe is closed over the New Year. The official booking calendar, read on 8 October 2026, offers no night between 15 November 2026 and 23 March 2027, and the offers stop on 15 November and resume on 24 March.

The evenings the hotel does stage fall in summer: Opa Night at the Beach Club, a Greek dinner with dancers and musicians from 7.30pm, runs from mid-May to the end of September, and Bostani hosts a farm-to-table dinner every Monday, according to the experience guide.

Is there golf?

No. No official page mentions golf, and Google’s list of amenities has none. Outdoors the hotel offers tennis on 2 floodlit courts, guided walks of 1.5 to 14 km, horse riding, diving, yacht charters and watersports, according to the «What’s on» page and the spa menu.

When is Amanzoe open, and when does it close?

It is seasonal. On the official booking calendar, read on 8 October 2026, the last night on sale in 2026 was 14 November, with 15 November marked as check-out only; the first of 2027 was 24 March and the last 6 November. The offers page gives the same dates: until 15 November 2026 and from 24 March to 7 November 2027.

The shore closes earlier: the Beach Club and Nura’s lunch run until 31 October 2026. No official page announces the winter closure in words. Inside the 2027 season the calendar showed 5 blocks of 3 nights without a rate, the first from 22 to 24 April; the engine gives no reason.

How much does a night cost?

On Aman’s own booking calendar, read on 8 October 2026, a night for 2 with breakfast, taxes and fees included, cost €2,741 on 12 October 2026, €1,889 on 24 October, €1,367 on 7 November and €1,253 on 12 November, a lone low night. What do the reviews say?

Google’s 606 ratings average 4.7/5, 91% of them 5 stars; Tripadvisor’s 282 average 4.7/5, first of 2 hotels in Kranidi, with rooms, cleanliness and sleep at 4.8, service at 4.7, location at 4.6 and value at 4.3. The MICHELIN Guide shows no guest score yet. All were read on 8 October 2026.

Guests praise the architecture, the views, the size of the pavilions, the Beach Club and staff who know their names. The reviews of 2024 to 2026 also come back to the 10 minutes by car between the pavilions and the beach, to the pace of service at the bar and the restaurant, and to the kitchen’s prices, which the menus on the site do not print: one review mentions €45 for a lobster starter in September 2025, another €10 for a pot of tea in June 2026.

Which taxes and charges are added?

The official booking engine prints «Including taxes & fees» under each nightly rate, and Google Hotels shows the same totals: for 9 October 2026 the official link on its card carried €2,286.25, of which €286.25 was tax.

One charge may still be asked at the desk: the terms of the Wellness Escape and of the villa offers state that a resilience tax of €15 per room per night «is payable at the resort and not included in rates». The same terms price an extra guest over 12 at €260 plus tax. Restaurant menus say their prices include 13% tax, 24% on alcohol, and the spa menu that its prices include tax; no service charge is mentioned on any page we read.
