Chewton Glen’s treehouses and prices: the 4 kinds, children and dogs

The Chewton Glen treehouses’ prices, on the hotel’s own booking page read on 18 October 2026, ran from £1,100 a night for 2 in the Studio Suite on 13 January 2027 to £2,000 in the Hideaway Suite on 17 November 2026, breakfast and taxes included, with a discretionary 5% added at departure. They are 14 suites of 4 kinds raised among the trees of the estate at New Milton, each with its own terrace hot tub and breakfast brought to the door: the Studio for 2, the Hideaway for 2 adults and 2 children, the Loft for a family of 6 and The Yews for 4 adults and 8 children, with dogs in selected treehouses at £35 a night.

Which treehouse, and what is inside

From the hotel’s own pages and its booking page, read on 18 October 2026, and from guests’ reviews.

The hotel’s own description counts 14 treehouses beside 72 bedrooms. They stand among the trees, set slightly apart from the house, which guests reach on foot through the grounds or, if they ask the team, with a lift. The booking page places the Studio, the Loft and the Hideaway in the tree canopy, their terraces 35 feet, or 11 metres, above the ground. Inside, the Height of Luxury page lists marble bathrooms with a deep freestanding bath and a walk-in shower, underfloor heating and a wood burner; each suite’s page adds an outdoor hot tub on a private terrace, breakfast delivered, tea and coffee, robes and slippers, and housekeeping every day.

The treehouses page sells 4 kinds, and the hotel’s own advice fits in a line: the Studio Suite for 2, the Loft Suite for families, the Hideaway Suite for romance and The Yews for the calmest stay. The Studio is open-plan, bedroom and sitting area in one space with a king bed. The Hideaway sleeps fewer than the Loft and costs more: one king bed and room for 2 children, and a guest who stayed in it in August 2016 found a lounge apart from the bedroom. The Loft sleeps 2 adults and 4 children, and the hotel warns that children under 4 may need help on its stairs. The Yews, which sleeps 4 adults and 8 children, appears on the booking page as one suite with 2 king beds and 8 single beds.

On the booking page, priced for 2 adults, Tuesday 17 November 2026 offered rooms in the house from £605, suites from £700 and the treehouses from £1,250, which was the Studio; the Loft started at £1,600 and the Hideaway at £2,000 that night. Each figure is the lowest rate of its night, and every rate the page showed included breakfast and taxes: for the Studio on 17 November the lowest was the Book Early rate, paid when booking, while bed and breakfast with free cancellation cost £1,275. The Studio moves with the calendar: £1,100 on Wednesday 13 January 2027, £1,345 on Saturday 13 February 2027 and £1,540 on Wednesday 11 August 2027. For Saturday 21 November 2026 the page offered no Studio at all.

The Height of Luxury offer takes up to 20% off for 2 nights or more with breakfast, a 1-night deposit and free cancellation until 3pm 2 days before arrival. Priced for 17 to 19 November 2026, with taxes included, it came to £2,028 for the Studio, £2,628 for the Loft, £3,268 for the Hideaway and £4,868 for The Yews, 2 nights each. The spa’s brochure keeps one treatment for treehouse guests alone, the Tree Top Tranquility ritual for 2: it opens with a full-body massage, lasts 90 minutes and is given inside the treehouse, for £550 between Monday and Thursday or £590 between Friday and Sunday. And the hotel’s smallest wedding, Just the Two of Us, can hold the vows in a treehouse, with a stay of at least 2 nights there, from £7,000, or from £8,000 on a Friday or Saturday.

Guests write most about the breakfast. It comes in a hamper passed through a hatch: in September 2022 a couple found it very substantial and discreet, in August 2023 a guest said it could have fed a small family, and in April 2024 a family kept it for lunch and ate a cooked breakfast in the house on the later days. The fridge and pantry come stocked, a guest wrote in August 2024, though a couple in August 2025 said the breakfast box woke them both mornings. The same family of April 2024 found the loft stairs hard for young children and less mobile adults, noted that the path is gravelled, so no wellingtons are needed, and rode the electric buggy to the restaurants; in July 2021 a family with children over 10 found the beds in their treehouse too small and advised checking which one you are given. The newest accounts are of occasions: a couple married in a Hideaway Suite in August 2026, and in July 2026 a couple back for their first anniversary found Champagne, gifts and cards waiting.

From the 3pm key to the 11am departure

  • Book the table and the massage

The hotel advises booking dinner and treatments before arrival; the treehouse massage for 2 is booked with the spa.

  • Check in at the house

The hotel aims to have the treehouse ready from 3pm; arrive earlier and the porter keeps the bags while you use the spa.

  • The spa, included

Every staying guest has the pools, the hydrotherapy, the heat rooms and the gym; a treehouse stay is no different.

  • Dinner, or the terrace

The Dining Room in the house, or The Kitchen 5 to 7 minutes’ walk from it; in October 2019 a guest ate in the treehouse and remembered a lobster curry.

  • The hot tub

Adults only on the terrace: the terms close the treehouse hot tubs to anyone under 17.

  • Breakfast at the hatch

The hamper is delivered to the door; in April 2024 a family swapped it on later mornings for the cooked breakfast in the house.

  • Out

Rooms are vacated by 11am under the terms.

Chewton Glen treehouses: your questions

How much does a treehouse at Chewton Glen cost?

It depends on the kind and the night. Read on 18 October 2026 for 2 adults, with breakfast and taxes included, the Studio Suite started at £1,100 on a Wednesday in January 2027 and at £1,540 on a Wednesday in August 2027; on 17 November 2026 the Loft was £1,600 and the Hideaway £2,000. These lowest rates are paid when booking, and a discretionary 5% comes on top.

Which treehouse is best for a couple?

The Studio Suite is the cheapest and made for 2. The Hideaway is the hotel’s choice for romance, with more room, 86 m² against 61 m², at £750 more than the Studio on 17 November 2026.

Can children stay in a Chewton Glen treehouse?

Yes: up to 4 in the Loft, 2 in the Hideaway and 8 in The Yews, beside the adults. They may not use the terrace hot tub until they are 17, and under-4s may need a hand on the Loft’s stairs.

Are dogs allowed in the treehouses?

Yes, in selected ones: all 4 kinds carry the hotel’s dog-friendly mark, and the team says which treehouse before you book. Each dog costs £35 a night.

Is breakfast included?

Yes. Breakfast delivery is on every treehouse’s list of what is included, and the Height of Luxury offer includes it too.

How high up are the treehouses?

About 11 metres: the booking page gives the terraces of the Studio, the Loft and the Hideaway a height of 35 feet above the ground.

Can treehouse guests use the spa?

Yes, like every staying guest: the pools and heat rooms come with the stay, and a treatment is booked and paid for on its own.

Can you get married in a Chewton Glen treehouse?

Yes, on the Just the Two of Us package for a couple or a very small party: at least 2 nights in the treehouse, from £7,000, or from £8,000 on a Friday or Saturday.
