I would start with the outlook: Coal Harbour for the view, or the pool for a room with a patio or balcony. Then I would book spa time before dinner at Botanist.

Is it for you?

For a stay together, I would choose Signature Ofuro. The bath and outlook give you a reason to return to the room before dinner.

I’d ask for
An upper-floor Signature Ofuro, with the outlook confirmed.
Worth knowing
Fairmont Spa costs extra beyond the room.
Signature Ofuro Room at Fairmont Pacific Rim

Like a regular

The Fairmont Gold Lounge at Fairmont Pacific Rim
  1. The bath to ask for

For a bath facing the view, I would ask for an upper-floor Signature Ofuro and confirm its outlook. A harbour-view room alone does not promise that bathroom.

  2. Book the spa

Choose the treatment before setting aside spa time: it comes with access after the service. Staying at the hotel alone does not give free entry.

  3. The right balcony

Deluxe Pool View gives you a patio or balcony facing the pool, but only some have an outdoor fireplace. If that is your evening plan, have it confirmed.

What Pacific Rim is

I would not choose the room by floor area alone. Several categories start at 37 m², but a city outlook and a harbour view give you different reasons to pause at the window. For a first Vancouver visit, I would spend on the outlook before extra space.

The reimagined spa gives the day a proper pause, with a salt sauna, steam and an outdoor terrace. Access costs extra even for hotel guests. Book a treatment or an access session rather than assuming a room key is enough.

The evening can stay in the hotel without staying in one setting: Botanist for dinner, The Lobby Lounge & RawBar for cocktails and live music. If seclusion is your priority, consider how much you want a lobby that also draws the city in for the evening.

How we choose the hotels

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do Fairmont Pacific Rim’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests like walking out towards the harbour, waterfront paths and city shops.

  2. Room

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. The suites’ space and the bath are part of the pleasure of staying in.

  3. Staff and service

Gold guests remember the lounge team and help with small problems along the way.

  4. Breakfast

Guests enjoy the food and service at Botanist and with breakfast in their room.

  5. Price

One guest found Gold’s food choice limited; another had to chase room cleaning.

185 guests said so on Google, from 18 February 2026 to 3 November 2026. Stored Google reviews dated from 4 November 2024; collections may stop at 300 or 2,000 reviews. The latest 500 with text, or every available text when fewer, are read the same way. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Vancouver: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 4 November 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against in Vancouver:

Price: for 2, the night of 4 December 2026, from 435 CAD on Google Hotels on 3 November 2026.

How the price changes

A pause in the lounge

A guest who also books Gold for work values the lounge as a change from the bedroom desk. On a stay with the children, breakfast, snacks and tea on the terrace stand out.

Seaplanes from the bath

A guest in an 18th-floor Ofuro room remembers watching seaplanes while unwinding in the bath. Food and cocktails also impress, with a higher floor recommended for anyone sensitive to sound.

A room that disappoints

One guest finds the bed uncomfortable and the room’s materials and carpet worn. The location and lobby impress, but do not outweigh that disappointment at the price paid.

Questions before you go

How much does a night at Fairmont Pacific Rim cost?

For one night for 2 adults: C$354 on 23 December 2026, C$486 on 18 January 2027, C$492 on 31 March 2027. These are the lowest seller prices for those dates searched separately; check the room, meals, taxes and cancellation in the chosen quote. Prices from Google Hotels, 3 November 2026.

Which room would I choose for the view?

Signature Harbour Mountain View for an outlook towards harbour, mountains or Stanley Park. If a bath facing the scenery is part of the trip, look at Signature Ofuro. Specify the exact outlook and floor in your request.

What does Fairmont Spa access cost for hotel guests and visitors?

Hotel guests pay CAD99 for 90 minutes. Visitors can book 90 minutes for CAD109, with sessions at 11am or 5pm. A booked treatment includes up to 2 hours of access afterwards.1

What is the difference between Fairmont and Fairmont Gold?

Fairmont Gold adds a lounge on the 20th floor and dedicated services. Gold rooms have different furnishings from the starting categories; views, baths and outdoor space still vary within Gold. Choose the room and check the benefits of the rate.

Are there rooms with 2 beds?

Fairmont, Deluxe City View, Deluxe Partial Harbour View and Signature Harbour Mountain View offer a king or 2 queens. Request 2 queens and confirm occupancy for adults and children, rather than inferring it from the beds alone.

Are the pool and Nordic Spa the same thing?

The pool and Jacuzzi are on the sixth-floor terrace. Nordic Spa uses part of the same area but is a separate paid 45-minute circuit for ages 14 and over; under-18s need an accompanying adult. The pool deck welcomes hotel guests of all ages.

Which suite has outdoor space?

Coal Harbour Corner Suite has a balcony; Pool View Suite has a patio or balcony with an outdoor fireplace. Fairmont Gold Corner Suite, Prime Minister Suite and Chairman’s Suite have their own terraces or patios, with different sizes and outlooks.

The Lobby Lounge serves breakfast daily from 7am to 11am. Botanist serves dinner daily from 5pm to 9.30pm, weekday lunch from 11.30am to 1.30pm, and weekend brunch from 11.30am to 2pm.123

Can you hold a small wedding at the hotel?

Star Sapphire Ballroom accommodates events for up to 500 guests.123 Valet parking is included for the wedding couple, with preferential rates for attending guests.1

Does Botanist host a New Year’s Eve dinner?

On 31 December 2026, Botanist offers 4- or 6-course tasting menus, with wine pairing available at an additional charge. Reservations are recommended.1

Are there packages with breakfast and parking?

Go for Gold includes Gold accommodation and self-parking for one vehicle, for stays until 31 December 2026. Bed & Breakfast includes daily breakfast for 2; both the booking and the stay must be by 31 December 2026.123

I would use it for a busy Singapore trip: the hotel connects to Suntec, Marina Square and Millenia Walk. A stay spent mostly in a large garden calls for somewhere greener.

Shangri-La Singapore

This is where I would leave time for the children to play and for the hotel itself. A trip built around quick MRT journeys and frequent stops back at the room suits a more immediate city base.

The Landmark London

A Marylebone base to come back to, with tea beneath the palms and room to settle in upstairs.

Wellington Arch and The Peninsula London beyond a green lawn

The Peninsula London

I’d start with a Grand Premier Park room and its view of Wellington Arch, then make time for the long indoor pool. The Deluxe looks into the courtyard. This is a London stay with room for the hotel itself: a morning swim, a walk and dinner upstairs.

The arched entrance to Corinthia London, with columns and small trees against the pale façade

Corinthia London

I’d leave an evening unplanned here: a swim, a table downstairs, then upstairs. I’d choose it for a London trip where coming back is part of the pleasure; for days spent entirely out, I’d book somewhere simpler.

A terrace at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park with pink sofas, breakfast on the table and a member of the team in front of the park

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London

I’d begin London with the park and decide the rest later. The Hyde Park outlook is worth paying for if you mean to enjoy it upstairs too; for a room used only for sleep, start with the courtyard.

A car outside the white portico and entrance to the Lanesborough

The Lanesborough

Dressing for dinner would be part of the pleasure here; I’d keep the morning free for the park. If you prefer a spare, understated bedroom, the fabrics and gilding ask for a different taste.
