For a holiday with a private terrace above the Mediterranean, I would choose an Eden-Roc Junior Suite. For a November 2026 stay, I would choose a hotel with a later closing date.

  1. A terrace above the water

For outdoor space, I would choose an Eden-Roc Junior Suite: 49 m² in the Eden-Roc Pavilion, a king-size bed and a living area, with a private terrace facing the Mediterranean and Lérins Islands.

  2. The high-season cancellation fee

For a high-season stay of more than one night, I would check the deadline: cancellation more than 30 days before arrival returns the deposit less €200; less than 30 days before arrival, the whole stay is charged.

  3. Clothes for the evening

For an evening at Bar Bellini, I would pack trousers and closed shoes: the hotel requires both for gentlemen, while casual clothes are allowed during the day.

What Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc is

The Grande Allée runs from the white façade towards the Mediterranean. The historic house has rooms overlooking the grounds; the Eden-Roc Pavilion stands above the sea. Choosing the building makes a tangible difference: gardens and salons in the old house, a terrace over the water in the pavilion’s junior suites.

The pool was carved into the rock in 1914. Swim in heated seawater, then retreat to one of 33 cabanas beneath the pines. Further up the grounds, 5 clay tennis courts and a pickleball court under the glasshouse offer a break from the coast.

The day starts at Eden-Roc Restaurant, where breakfast runs from 7:30am to 10:30am. Lunch stays by the water; dinner moves to Louroc, The Grill or Giovanni’s. Non-residents can book lunch; the pool is reserved for hotel guests.

Families should plan around the Kids Club calendar and pool rules. In 2026 the club ends on 31 August; children at the pool always need an accompanying adult. For couples, a pavilion terrace and a morning at Dior Spa may be enough to shape the whole stay.

What do Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests remember the Mediterranean views and the gardens.

  2. Room

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 8 September 2018 to 5 October 2026. The latest 500 reviews with text span September 2018–October 2026 and include restaurant visits. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay on the French Riviera: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 17 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against on the French Riviera:

  • Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four Seasons Hotel
  • La Réserve Ramatuelle - Hotel, Spa and Villas
  • Cheval Blanc St-Tropez
  • La Réserve de Beaulieu
