Other Sunday brunchesA buffet in the winter garden, on the lake side
What the hotel says about its Sunday brunch sits on 2 pages of its website, read on 11 October 2026. Here it is in full, with what guests add.
The room is Le Côté Jardin, which the hotel describes as a winter garden on the lake side of the building, opening onto a large terrace and catching the first sun of the morning. Its page lists 2 services: breakfast every day and brunch on Sundays. The photograph above shows the room: green iron tables and chairs, globe lamps and a stone wall hung with lanterns.
The brunch itself is a set of buffets, sweet and savoury, that change with the season. For the autumn and winter of 2026 the hotel names mature cheeses, charcuterie, hot dishes and recipes with autumn and winter flavours. The calendar entry is titled «The Brunch - Every Sunday» and runs from 20 September to 20 December 2026; a guest reviewing in July 2026 wrote of a «Brunch d’été du Dimanche», the one sign of a summer edition in what we read.
The price is CHF 110 per person and covers a glass of champagne, tea and coffee. Children from 3 to 12 pay CHF 55, half the adult price by our arithmetic, and those up to 3 eat free. One line under the prices matters at Easter or Christmas: «Special prices for our theme brunches». Neither page read gives the dates of those brunches or what they cost, so ask when you reserve a Sunday that falls on a holiday.
On the hours the hotel’s page disagrees with itself. Its «Opening hours» box says Sunday from 12.30 to 3pm; the paragraph about the brunch, a few lines lower, and the calendar entry both say 12.30pm to 3.30pm. The French version of the page carries the same 2 times. Plan to sit down at 12.30pm and the half-hour stops mattering.
Guests divide on the value more than on the food. In July 2026 one called it a «superbe brunch» and another, the same month, a real treat. A third that month found it «beau et bon», praised staff who looked after the table closely, thought the corner where it is served rather narrow and judged it not worth CHF 110 a head. In June 2025 a guest summed it up as «fantastic views and a great brunch». The harshest account is from January 2025: bread still frozen in the middle, and CHF 28 to pay on top of a voucher for 2 people.
From the reservation to the last coffee
- Reserve by email, phone or online
The hotel takes brunch reservations at restauration@lausanne-palace.ch and on +41 21 331 32 08. The «Book your table» button on the calendar entry leads to Côté Jardin’s reservation page.
- The buffets open
Both versions of the hours start here. Côté Jardin is inside the hotel at Rue du Grand-Chêne 7-9, on the side that faces the lake.
- The glass of champagne, then tea and coffee
These 3 drinks are in the CHF 110. The pages read list no other drink as included, so water, juice or a second glass are a question for the waiter.
- Half price from 3 to 12
CHF 55 for each child aged 3 to 12; a child up to 3 is free. The page says «up to 3» for the free place and «from 3» for the paid one: give the age when you book.
- The end, by one box or the other
The opening-hours box closes the room at 3pm and the brunch paragraph at 3.30pm. A guest in February 2019 wrote of a brunch from noon to 2.30pm, so the hours have moved before.
- Breakfast in the same room
From Monday to Saturday the winter garden serves breakfast only, from 7am to 10.30am: the Buffet Palace at CHF 49 or dishes from the card.

Saturday night, Sunday brunch

A Saturday night in the hotel leaves 2 hours between the end of breakfast, at 10.30am, and the start of brunch, enough for the spa’s indoor pool, which the hotel’s offers include. The pages read tie no room rate to the Sunday brunch, so it goes on the bill as a meal. The hotel guide has the rooms, their views and what they cost.
