The pool opens
The indoor pool and jacuzzi open early, from 6.30am to 10pm every day, so a swim before work is on. On public holidays the hotel may change the hours.
A Lausanne spa without the walk down to the lake: the Lausanne Palace keeps its pool, saunas and hammams inside the palace in the city centre. The Spa Suite with its copper bath is booked separately; if you are not staying, a day costs CHF 125.

You need a big spa in the middle of town, a walk from the train and the metro, for a day or a few nights, with La Table’s 2 stars under the same roof.
Le SpaYou picture your spa by the water: the Lausanne Palace is in town, and the shore at Ouchy is a 27-minute walk, all downhill.
Other spasLausanne runs downhill to Lake Geneva, and the Lausanne Palace stays up in town, with 2,100 m² of spa inside its walls and a copper bath for 2.
The Lausanne Palace opened on 19 June 1915, at the height of the Belle Époque, and has lived in the thick of the city ever since: the station, the metro and the cathedral are all a few minutes’ walk away.
Behind the façade, Le Spa spreads over 2,100 m² and works with 3 houses, the hotel says: Biologique Recherche for the face, Cinq Mondes for face and body, and Aveda for hair and the Head Spa.
Out of the water and on to the table: at the same address, La Table holds 2 MICHELIN stars and 17 out of 20 from Gault&Millau, and the MICHELIN Guide gives the hotel 2 Keys.
We came to know Le Spa through 11 pages of the hotel’s website, the price list in its voucher shop, 4 other spas in the area and the 2 clips the hotel filmed between the pool and the Spa Suite. Then we searched the 1,034 Google reviews that carry a text. 5, all in French, say that the saunas and hammams are separate for men and women, as the spa’s own page does. For 2, the Spa Suite is the only place to share a sauna.
Swim first, then decide whether to add a treatment or the Spa Suite. The pool and saunas need no booking; treatments and the Spa Suite do, through the spa.
The indoor pool and jacuzzi open early, from 6.30am to 10pm every day, so a swim before work is on. On public holidays the hotel may change the hours.
Treatments run from 9am to 8pm. On the spa’s voucher shop a Cinq Mondes massage is CHF 195 for 50 minutes and CHF 265 for 80, and Biologique Recherche facials start at CHF 130.
You need not leave the spa for lunch: the snack menu runs from 11.30am to 8pm, and Monday to Saturday the Day Spa bundles entry and lunch at the spa bar for CHF 140, or CHF 320 with a 50-minute treatment.
A spa in miniature, just for the two of you: a sauna, a hammam and a round copper tub. CHF 95 for half an hour, CHF 180 for an hour, CHF 300 for 2.
Saunas and hammams, one side for women and one for men, with the therapeutic bath, until 9pm; then the terrace, the veranda and the Silent Duvet Room.
Dinner comes early: La Table, with 2 MICHELIN stars, opens Wednesday to Saturday from 7pm and takes last orders at 8pm. On other nights there are Brasserie du Grand Chêne and Matcha Picchu.
Up in the centre, the Lausanne Palace; down on the shore at Ouchy, the Royal Savoy, the Beau-Rivage Palace and the Château d’Ouchy, between 17 and 24 minutes away on foot.

After the sauna, the window: the lake-side rooms look over Lake Geneva to the Alps.

The lake side faces south, the hotel says: a Deluxe runs from 35 to 50 m², some with a panoramic balcony, and the Junior Suite Lake View has 60 m² and a sitting room. The city side is cheaper and faces north, towards the cathedral. Every offer the hotel sells includes the pool, sauna and hammam; the Well-being Experience adds a massage each and half an hour in the Spa Suite.

Search for a spa in Lausanne and Google opens with its map, the Lausanne Palace’s Le Spa and the Beau-Rivage Palace’s Guerlain spa at the top, then the lists on Tripadvisor and Booking.com. The city’s other hotel spas are down by the lake at Ouchy, 17 to 24 minutes on foot, all downhill: the Royal Savoy at 17, the Beau-Rivage Palace at 23 and the Château d’Ouchy at 24, its spa closed for renovation from 31 August to 16 October 2026. The Beau-Rivage and the Château d’Ouchy belong, like the Lausanne Palace, to the Sandoz Foundation’s hotels. Out of town, Le Mirador on Mont-Pèlerin is 27 minutes by car. The Lausanne Palace has no outdoor pool, and anyone who wants to swim in the open air will be happier at the Royal Savoy; a visitor pays CHF 125 here, where the Royal Savoy and Le Mirador start at CHF 100.
