Le Spa
2,100 m² inside the palace: the heated indoor pool under a wavy ceiling pricked with small lights, the jacuzzi beside it, then saunas and hammams, the therapeutic bath, the terrace and a rest room.
Lausanne is all ups and downs, and Lausanne Palace, open since 1915, looks at it from above. From the right rooms Lake Geneva appears beyond the rooftops; from the others you see the city and its cathedral.
A week here, month by monthLausanne Palace suits a stay around its 2,100 m² spa and dinner at La Table, which states 2 Michelin stars: one night taken alone starts at €297 between January and April 2027, the lowest price any seller showed on Google for 2 adults. For a lakeshore wake-up, as at Ouchy, look elsewhere.

Keep it among your hotels and see it on the budget globe, month by month.
I would ask for a Deluxe Lake View room: 35 to 50 m² facing south over Lake Geneva and the Alps, some with a private panoramic balcony. The city-side Business rooms face north.
Read on 13 October 2026, one night taken alone is €301 on every night of 4–10 March 2027, against €374 to €444 for 8–14 July 2027. Booked as 7 nights from 16 November 2026, the lowest seller asked €368 a night.
Covered parking is CHF 40 per day. A limousine to the hotel costs CHF 125 from Lausanne station and CHF 300 from Geneva airport, in an S Class for up to 2 people with luggage.
Bar 1915, the lobby bar, with sofas, is open every day from 8am to 10pm; the hotel says locals and guests both come for its gourmet coffee breaks.
Here you head out downhill, towards the Flon and its pedestrian streets, and come home uphill, to a palace that opened its doors on 19 June 1915. Some rooms greet you with Lake Geneva beyond the rooftops, others with the city: best to know which of the 2 Lausannes you want to come back to before you choose the floor and the suite. And if your legs complain, the spa is downstairs.
Beyond the central address, the reason to come is Le Spa: 2,100 m² tucked inside the palace, with a heated indoor pool and jacuzzi, saunas and hammams for women and for men, a therapeutic bath, a terrace, a veranda, a rest room and a gym open day and night to hotel guests. For 2 there is even a private Spa Suite, with its own sauna, hammam and round copper tub. Visitors who are not staying pay CHF 125 for the day, CHF 75 for half a day or CHF 50 with a treatment of at least 50 minutes.
There are 4 places to eat: La Table du Lausanne Palace, with 2 MICHELIN stars and 18 out of 20 from Gault&Millau, open Wednesday to Saturday; Brasserie du Grand Chêne, in the Parisian style; Matcha Picchu, Japanese-Peruvian; and Côté Jardin, for breakfast and Sunday brunch. For a drink at night there are LP’s Bar and Bar 1915. Reviews praise the staff, the building and the location; light sleepers ask for a high floor or the lake side, because the street reaches the lower floors on the city side. And in August one guest found La Table, Matcha Picchu and LP’s Bar closed for the summer break.
Nearly 9 years of guests: of the Lausanne Palace’s 2,373 Google reviews we gathered the 2,000 most recent, back to January 2018, and searched the 1,034 with a text; then we calculated 8 walking routes on the map and chose 7 video clips by 4 authors, all on 27 September 2026. Among those who came to celebrate, a house habit emerged: 34 reviews tell of an occasion, from a daughter’s 13th birthday to a golden wedding anniversary, and in 23 the hotel had prepared something, an upgrade, a cake with a candle, rose petals, balloons.

We found the metro 2 minutes’ walk away and the station 7, rooms from the 30 m² Business to the 170 m² Coco Chanel Suite, an indoor pool with saunas and hammams, and a private Spa Suite with a copper tub.
What we found reading the hotel’s own pages, one thing at a time.
The city at the door: the metro 2 minutes’ walk (148 metres) away, the station 7 minutes (496 metres), the cathedral 8 minutes (599 metres). The lake at Ouchy is a 27-minute walk (2,044 metres) downhill; the metro brings you back up.
A Belle Époque palace from 1915 in the middle of the city, all marble in its public rooms, says the MICHELIN Guide, which gives it 2 Keys.
From 30–40 m² in the Business rooms on the city side to 170 m² in the Coco Chanel Suite. The lake rooms face south, the city rooms north, towards the cathedral.
La Table’s 2 MICHELIN stars, Brasserie du Grand Chêne and Matcha Picchu, and Sunday brunch at CHF 110. On the basic rates, breakfast is extra.

Nearly every guest who mentions it is happy with it. Central, with the metro a step away and Lake Geneva below the windows; from the station, though, it is uphill with luggage.
8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. If the room faces the lake, it is unforgettable: guests write about the view of Lake Geneva and the Alps, the balcony and the space.
8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Small kindnesses stay with people: a birthday cake, a better room unasked, the concierge’s advice; and so does the spa with its indoor pool.
7 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Breakfast is a buffet in the winter garden of Côté Jardin, from 7 to 10.30am: guests write about the fresh produce and the attentive staff.
Base rates leave breakfast out; at Brasserie du Grand Chêne main courses run from CHF 34 to CHF 78, and Sunday brunch at Côté Jardin costs CHF 110.

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 25 September 2023 to 27 September 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay on Lake Geneva: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 1 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.
The hotels we weigh it against on Lake Geneva:
Price: for two on the night of 28 February 2027, from €297 (seen on Google Hotels on 13 October 2026).
One night taken alone for 2 adults costs from €306 to €397 between 14 October 2026 and 27 February 2027, from €297 to €311 between 28 February and 11 April 2027, and from €301 to €444 between 20 May and 7 September 2027. I would choose a date between late February and early April 2027, where the calendar shows its lowest figures.

2,100 m² inside the palace: the heated indoor pool under a wavy ceiling pricked with small lights, the jacuzzi beside it, then saunas and hammams, the therapeutic bath, the terrace and a rest room.

A spa for just the two of you, with a sauna, a hammam and a round copper tub full of rose petals: CHF 95 for half an hour, CHF 180 for an hour, CHF 300 for 2 hours.

2 MICHELIN stars and a long window over the rooftops, the mountains and the lake. Wednesday to Saturday, menus of 4, 5 or 6 courses at CHF 228, 255 or 268.

A hammam of dark mosaic lit by a pierced lantern, and saunas for women and for men, with the therapeutic bath: open 6.30am to 9pm. The pool and jacuzzi stay open until 10pm.

Green iron chairs, globe lamps and big plants: this is the winter garden on the lake side, with its large terrace. The breakfast buffet every morning, Sunday brunch at CHF 110.

Whether the spa comes with your room, the hotel never quite says: there is no price for guests and every offer includes the pool, sauna and hammam, yet no page states in one sentence that access comes with every rate. Visitors pay CHF 125 for the day.
How long children may stay in the pool depends on whom you read. The spa’s page lets them in from the age of 3, with a parent, Monday to Saturday from 9 to 11am and 2 to 7pm, and on Sundays from 10am to 7pm; the hotel’s family offer, Booking.com and the MICHELIN Guide stop at 6pm.
The city rooms face north, towards the cathedral and the streets, and on the lower floors the streets can be heard. 3 Google reviews, between April 2024 and October 2025, and a guest on a lower floor on Tripadvisor, in August 2026, write of noise on the city side.
With a dog you set off without certainty: Expedia charges CHF 25 per pet per night, BringFido says 2 dogs of any size are welcome at no extra charge, and the hotel’s website publishes no rule.
Between April 2024 and May 2026, 9 Google reviews describe rooms or bathrooms not yet renovated, with furnishings that show their years; 5 others, between June 2024 and July 2026, write of renovated rooms.

Scores read on 27 September 2026
5 guests from August and September 2026: one couple had the corner room over the lake, another guest celebrated turning 40 in a suite with no lake view.
A couple in September: a corner room with a lake view, comfortable bedding and a thousand thoughtful gestures from the staff: “an address to preserve”, the review says.
A 40th birthday in August: warm staff and a gym worth “11 out of 10”. But the city-view Junior Suite had no lake view, the city’s roadworks could be heard in the room and at breakfast, and La Table, Matcha Picchu and LP’s Bar were closed for the summer break.
A first stay in Switzerland in August: a comfortable, clean room, an excellent breakfast buffet and 2 dinners at the Brasserie. The only drawback was street noise on a lower floor.
Near the metro yet in a quiet part of town, with lake views, very comfortable beds and air conditioning through an August heatwave. The letdown was the Brasserie: steaks and tartare below expectations.
A returning couple in August: a perfect welcome, from the valets to room service. The only downside, they write, was the spa, without saying why.
Prices, hours, rules: everything worth knowing before you book, read across every source on 27 and 28 September 2026.
On Google Hotels, read on 28 September 2026, the lowest price across all sellers for a night for 2 was €290 on Saturday 10 October, €293 on Wednesday 14 and €285 on Saturday 24 October, €283 on Saturday 7 November, €311 on Friday 13 November and €292 on Saturday 5 December; €306 for New Year’s Eve, and €349 for Saturday 10 July 2027. The lowest prices came from smaller sellers such as Super.com and Agoda; on Booking.com, Expedia and Hotels.com the same night cost more, and the hotel’s own website was not among the sellers. Basic rates exclude breakfast, and the city tax is CHF 7 per person per night, the hotel says.
Yes, if you want a spa and the centre on foot; if you want quiet, ask for a room on a high floor. On Google it has 4.6 out of 5 from 2,373 reviews; on Tripadvisor 4.6 from 1,601; on Booking.com 9.2 out of 10 from 1,652, with 8.7 for value for money. Among the themes Google counts, service, the building and the location receive the most praise; street noise reaches the lower floors on the city side, and reviews mention rooms awaiting renovation alongside refurbished ones.
4, plus 2 bars. La Table du Lausanne Palace, with 2 MICHELIN stars and 18 out of 20 from Gault&Millau, serves contemporary French cooking facing the rooftops, the mountains and the lake: open Wednesday to Saturday, for lunch from 12 to 3pm and dinner from 7 to 11pm, last orders at 1pm and 8pm; menus of 4, 5 or 6 courses cost CHF 228, 255 or 268, wine pairings from CHF 110. Brasserie du Grand Chêne is Parisian-style, with mains from CHF 32 to CHF 78; Matcha Picchu, Japanese-Peruvian, opens Tuesday to Saturday; Côté Jardin serves breakfast and Sunday brunch. The bars are LP’s Bar and Bar 1915. In August 2026 one guest found La Table, Matcha Picchu and LP’s Bar closed for the summer break.
Not in the basic rates, Google and Expedia show, and the Côté Jardin menu, read on 11 October 2026, prints the buffet at CHF 49, VAT and service included. The hotel’s offers, such as Suite Experience, do include it. Breakfast is served at Côté Jardin from 7 to 10.30am; on Sundays there is brunch from 12.30pm to 3pm or 3.30pm, depending on where the page is read, at CHF 110, or CHF 55 for children aged 3 to 12.
Generous: Le Spa covers 2,100 m² inside the hotel, with the heated indoor pool and its jacuzzi, saunas and hammams for women and for men, a therapeutic bath, a terrace, a veranda, a rest room, the gym, the Aveda Hair Spa and the private Spa Suite for 2, with a sauna, a hammam and a round copper tub for a rose-petal bath. The pool’s length and the water temperature are not published.
For guests, the hotel will not commit; visitors, on the other hand, are welcome. Those staying find no price: the gym is open around the clock “for hotel guests”, and every offer includes the pool, sauna and hammam, yet no page says in one sentence that access comes with every rate, and Perplexity says it is charged, applying the visitors’ price list to guests. Visitors pay CHF 125 for the day, CHF 75 for half a day, CHF 50 with a treatment of at least 50 minutes, says the spa’s page; the Day Spa, Monday to Saturday, includes lunch at the spa bar for CHF 140, or CHF 320 with a 50-minute treatment.
Every day from 6.30am to 10pm. The pool and jacuzzi stay open until 10pm; saunas, hammams and the therapeutic bath until 9pm; treatments run from 9am to 8pm and the snack menu from 11.30am to 8pm, and hours may change on public holidays. Treatments and the Spa Suite are booked with the spa, on +41 21 331 31 61 or online; the pages mention no booking for the pool and saunas.
A Cinq Mondes massage costs CHF 195 for 50 minutes or CHF 265 for 80, according to the spa’s voucher shop; the Grand Rituel of an hour and 50 minutes CHF 295, Biologique Recherche facials from CHF 130 for 30 minutes to CHF 350 for 60, and the Aveda Head Spa from CHF 130 to CHF 240. For 2 there is “An experience for two”, at CHF 590: an hour of the Spa Suite, day access to the spa and a 50-minute Cinq Mondes massage, without saying whether for one or for both.
Heated and indoors, and it is the only one: it sits inside the spa, with a jacuzzi beside it, open all year from 6.30am to 10pm. There is no outdoor pool; the length, depth and water temperature are published by none of the sources we read.
Yes, from the age of 3 and with a parent: Monday to Saturday from 9 to 11am and 2 to 7pm, and Sundays from 10am to 7pm, according to the spa’s page read on 27 September 2026. Other sources narrow the hours: the hotel’s family offer says 2 to 6pm, and Booking.com and the MICHELIN Guide, for children aged 3 to 16, say 2 to 6pm and 10am to 6pm on Sundays. No age limit is published for the saunas and hammams.
Yes, under cover, at CHF 40 a day, says the access page, which also mentions a large public pay car park open around the clock. If you would rather hand over the keys, Google and Expedia list valet parking, at a charge.
At Rue du Grand-Chêne 7–9, in the centre of Lausanne, above the Flon; as for quiet, it depends on the floor, because the street reaches the lower floors on the city side. The metro is 2 minutes’ walk (148 metres) away, the station a 7-minute walk (496 metres), the cathedral an 8-minute walk (599 metres) and the lake at Ouchy a 27-minute walk (2,044 metres). Nothing published yet for 31 December 2026: the hotel’s calendar, read on 27 September 2026, listed only the Sunday brunch, until 20 December. For New Year’s Eve 2025 a Lausanne weekly described the Lausanne Palace’s gala evenings, without a menu or a price.
Yes, organised by the hotel’s events team. The largest room, Richemont, with its crystal chandelier, takes 350 for a cocktail, 200 for a banquet or 280 theatre-style; Le Caveau seats 50 for a banquet. The price is not published: the last public figure is the packages of CHF 150 to 280 per person that GaultMillau quoted in June 2020.
142 rooms and suites, the hotel says; Tripadvisor and Expedia count 139, the MICHELIN Guide 146. The suites include 2 Presidential Suites, the Coco Chanel Suite and the Samaranch Suite. It is a 5-star hotel that opened on 19 June 1915, part of The Leading Hotels of the World and Swiss Deluxe Hotels, with 2 MICHELIN Keys.
Yes, according to every source; it is the price they cannot agree on, and the hotel’s website is silent. Expedia charges CHF 25 per pet per night, with service animals exempt; Booking.com and the MICHELIN Guide mention a charge; BringFido says 2 dogs of any size are allowed at no extra charge. The hotel has the final word when you book.
Yes: it is a city hotel with no seasonal closure announced, and Google Hotels showed prices for every month from October 2026 to August 2027.
