Palazzo Parigi does not pretend that luxury should be discreet. Its staircase, bright rooms and spa present Milan with a Parisian accent.
The entrance sets the tone. Beyond the door on Corso di Porta Nuova, the city gives way to a theatrical lobby. Palazzo Parigi was designed and is run by its architect-owner, Paola Giambelli; the idea of a private palace rather than a neutral hotel is palpable in the shared spaces.
The 54 rooms and 41 suites draw on Milanese and Parisian styles, but share something unusual in the centre: a balcony or terrace. This is where room choice really matters. For a break from the city's pace, ask for a garden-facing room; for a celebration, consider panoramic suites and Duomo views.
The Grand Spa gives the stay another tempo: an indoor pool, hammam, seven treatment rooms and a 300-square-metre gym. Caffè Parigi and the private garden make it possible to stay in without feeling shut away. Brera and the Fashion District are close by, so the hotel works when you want to alternate Milan with a genuine retreat.
The trade-off is part of its character. If you want a minimal boutique hotel, the decoration may feel too grand. A room category alone cannot guarantee quiet or a panorama: confirm the outlook, floor, balcony size and spa access before booking.
