I would give Beau-Rivage Palace a few days for Guerlain Spa and meals beside the lake; in January 2027, a night for 2 starts at CHF 419. For evenings out in central Lausanne, I would choose an address higher up in town.

Like a regular

Beau-Rivage Palace and its lakeside gardens
  1. The Lake Geneva balcony

I would ask for the Palace Junior Suite: 65–70 m², a sitting area and a balcony facing the lake; before upgrading further, I would leave an afternoon free to enjoy that spot.

  2. The December week

For 14 December to 20 December 2026, nights searched separately range from CHF 428 to CHF 452. The dearest night is 18 June 2027, at CHF 639.

  3. The pet charge

Travelling with a pet, I would add CHF 50 for each animal per night to the room budget and include it in the booking arrangements before arrival, alongside the rest of the stay.

  4. The children’s calendar

Travelling with children, I would check Canton Vaud’s school-holiday calendar: the kids’ club opens during those periods for children staying here, while babysitting can also be arranged separately for your stay.

What Beau-Rivage Palace is

I would start with the outlook. A 30–35 m² Superior City and Garden View faces the greenery or town; the Superior Lake and Alps View offers the same size range with the lake and mountains outside. A Palace Junior Suite has 65–70 m² and a lake-facing balcony. For a few days for 2, that is the upgrade that would tempt me to stay longer.

The hotel opened in 1861, as Lausanne was finding its feet along the Ouchy waterfront. Today, you can leave the gardens for the lakeside promenade and keep Guerlain Spa for your return. It has a sauna, hammam and ice cave, with heated pools indoors and outside. Spa hours are 6:30am–10pm, leaving room for a swim before or after exploring.

The table changes with the hour. La Terrasse serves breakfast over the lake; I would choose Café Beau-Rivage for a brasserie dinner. Kaigan serves Japanese cooking, sushi and teppanyaki. Pic deserves an evening of its own, Wednesday–Saturday. I would choose the dinner plans alongside the room: they are part of the reason to come.

In the Lumina Guide

Lumina Guide 2027

I would book a Palace Junior Suite at Beau-Rivage Palace for its balcony over Lake Geneva. Then leave an afternoon free: with that view, I would hate to fill every hour.

500 guests said so on Google, from 29 May 2025 to 18 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in the Lake Geneva region: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 19 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against in the Lake Geneva region:

Price: for 2, the night of 4 January 2027, from 419 CHF on Google Hotels on 19 October 2026.

What a night costs, period by period

For 18 April to 25 April 2027, nights taken alone range from CHF 536 to CHF 597. I would compare dates before booking, keeping an individual-night price separate from a longer-stay quotation.

PeriodCHF a night
20 October 2026 to 17 April 2027378–601
18 April to 25 April 2027536–597
26 April to 20 August 2027474–639
21 August to 14 September 2027474–574

Figures are Google Hotels minima for one night searched alone for 2 adults, read on 19 October 2026; room, meals and taxes are unspecified. The calendar stops on 14 September 2027. For the single night of 12 January 2027, Google’s lowest seller asked CHF 445 a night.

Your day

6.30am

Begin at Guerlain Spa

Guerlain Spa opens at 6.30am; I would come early to choose between the indoor and heated outdoor pools, leaving breakfast for afterwards.

At breakfast

Watch the lake over breakfast

For the buffet, I would choose La Terrasse facing the lake, a table worth keeping for a while before starting the rest of the day.

In the afternoon

Play a game outside

Between tennis and padel, I would leave time to move around the gardens; for an indoor workout, there is also the gym to return to.

Before dinner

Stop at the Bar

I would stop at the Bar for a cocktail before thinking about dinner, leaving enough time to enjoy the retro surroundings rather than hurrying through.

At dinner

Choose Kaigan’s Japanese cooking

I would keep a Tuesday-to-Saturday evening for Kaigan’s sushi and teppanyaki, leaving room in the order for something prepared on the hot plate as well.
