The pool, in summer
The 22 m pool is outdoors, kept at 27°C, and opens from June to the end of August; it is now closed until next season. Hotel guests swim free; weather and private events can close it.261625
At the InterContinental I would take a Junior Suite Lake View: the lake and Mont Blanc in the window, and 45 m² for time indoors. It is the hotel for anyone working with the UN, in the international district; if you want the old town on foot, you will be happier on the lakefront.
A week here, month by monthI would choose the InterContinental for the UN, with a night for 2 from CHF 318 on 19 February 2027. For lakeside walks straight from the door, I would look for a waterfront address.
The hotel websiteWould you go?
Keep it among your hotels and see it on the budget globe, month by month.
I would ask for a 45 m² Junior Suite Lake View for its king bed and large windows. When travelling with children, a connecting Classic or Premium room can be requested.
From 19 to 21 February 2027 a night runs from CHF 318 to CHF 327, each taken on its own. The night of 28 January 2027 reaches CHF 1,430; I would try other dates before choosing.
Arriving by car, I would allow CHF 40 a day for parking. A shorter visit costs CHF 3 an hour; I would keep track of the time as well as the restaurant bill.
In summer the pool stays open until 9pm on Fridays, later than on other days. I would save that swim for before dinner, allowing for changes due to weather or private events.
Lumina Guide 2027
We choose the hotels of this guide ourselves, one at a time: no one pays to be in it.
How we choose the hotelsWhat we found reading the hotel’s own pages, one thing at a time.
Convenient for the UN, less so for exploring the centre on foot; construction complicates arrival.
Lake views and beds earn praise; other guests find bathrooms small and furnishings dated.
Breakfast staff remember orders, while the concierge team offers advice for exploring the city. Some guests report finding the pool closed for private events without advance warning.
Breakfasts and brunches win praise for variety and freshness; one guest instead describes a lukewarm morning buffet.
Of 13 comments on value, 4 are positive, 8 negative and 1 mixed. Some guests find rooms and bathrooms dated for the price; the praise also includes brunches and pool days.
What do InterContinental Genève’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.
7 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Convenient for the UN, less so for exploring the centre on foot; construction complicates arrival.

500 guests said so on Google, from 10 August 2025 to 19 October 2026. The comments include hotel stays and visits to the restaurant, bar, pool and spa; they are not all overnight stays. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.
From October 2026 to March 2027 a night runs from CHF 281 to CHF 670, each taken on its own, with an isolated high of CHF 1,430 on 28 January 2027. For nights from 14 April to 2 May 2027, at CHF 324–547, I would try shifting the stay.
| Period | CHF a night |
|---|---|
| 19 Oct 2026–31 Mar 2027 | 281–670 |
| 1 April to 13 April 2027 | 350–1,117 |
| 14 April to 2 May 2027 | 324–547 |
| 3 May to 14 September 2027 | 360–803 |
CHF 281 on 8 January 2027 is an isolated low, and the calendar runs to 14 September 2027. Each figure is the lowest price for 2 adults of one night taken alone, whatever the room. For the night of 12–13 January 2027, the cheapest seller asks CHF 366 a night and the hotel’s own listing CHF 422 a night.

Public transport worked for the conference and city centre, but journeys took time.
We could see the lake and Mont Blanc from the Junior Suite, and the bed was particularly comfortable.
At breakfast they remembered our orders without us having to repeat them.
There was a wide choice between the buffet and hot dishes made to order.
For the price paid, the rooms and particularly the bathrooms felt dated.

At Four Seasons des Bergues Geneva, your day can begin with a swim above the rooftops and finish at IZUMI: on the terrace in summer, in the library in winter.

On Lake Geneva’s quay, the President Wilson pairs dinner at Bayview with an outdoor pool for the warmer months. I would start with a lake-facing room.

Here the park runs down to the lake: the outdoor pool sits among the trees, with Lake Geneva and the Alps ahead. I’d bring even the youngest, since La Petite Réserve takes them from 6 months, and keep an evening for Cantonese dinner at Tsé Fung.

Above Vevey, Le Mirador puts Lake Geneva in front of the pool and the Junior Suite Prestige terrace. I would choose the modern wing for a break up here; for evenings walking by the lake, I would stay in Vevey.

Lake Geneva stretches to the Alps beyond the Junior Suite balcony. I would choose those 45 m² at Royal Plaza and leave an afternoon for the indoor pool; someone wanting more contemporary bedrooms may prefer another hotel.

The turreted corner building dates from 1895 and holds 22 suites. I would choose a 60–65 m² Deluxe, with a king bed and whirlpool bath.

Curhaus towers above Zurich, art in the corridors and warm water facing the city.

Lausanne climbs behind the palace; from the right rooms, the lake appears beyond the rooftops.

In Schönried the brine pool runs outdoors; inside, the Stuben and cake table slow the day.

The palace Gstaad looks up to, from fondue in an old vault to music at GreenGo.

From boat to ridge, Lake Lucerne returns in the view from the warm pool.

A park between city and lake, Le Hall under glass and Zurich just beyond the trees.
