At The Woodward, every suite has a fireplace. I would keep the living room for returning from the city.

The hotel website

Is it for you?

For 2, I would choose Collection Suite: 65 m² and 2 balconies over the harbour.

I’d ask for
Collection Suite and the balcony arrangement.
Worth knowing
The gym opens around the clock.
The Collection Suite living room open to the balcony and the lake

Like a regular

A suite’s arched doors open onto the balcony and the lake
  1. The suite’s lift

Prestige Suite and Royal Suite have private lifts. For a stay spent mostly upstairs, I would weigh that beside the floor area.

  2. Bringing a small dog

For a dog under 7 kg, allow CHF 50 a night. It stays out of the Guerlain spa and smoking room, and in its carrier in the restaurants and bars.

  3. The breakfast bill

At Le Jardinier, continental breakfast costs CHF 45, the healthy breakfast CHF 55 and Woodward Breakfast with eggs CHF 65. That would help me choose the stay’s rate.

What The Woodward is

The 1901 building is by François Durel; the hotel opened in 2021 with interiors by Pierre-Yves Rochon. Auberge Collection has run it since 1 February 2025.1234

In the Lumina Guide

Lumina Guide 2027

Leman Suite’s living room sits beneath the dome, with a Baccarat chandelier; I would stay a little longer.

How we choose the hotels

Our reading, point by point

What we found reading the hotel’s own pages, one thing at a time.

  1. Wellness

Guerlain spa over 2 floors, 1,200 m².

  2. Food and social life

Le Jardinier serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily; tasting menu CHF 150.

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do Woodward’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

Guests like the lake beyond the windows and the position on Quai Wilson, close to the centre.

  2. Room

Guests like the spacious suites, marble, large windows and lake views.

  3. Staff and service

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests praise the welcome and attentive staff, from the valet to the spa; one bar visitor describes a lack of courtesy.

  4. Breakfast

One guest praises Le Jardinier and advises allowing extra for breakfast.

  5. Price

One guest finds the price high but in keeping with their Deluxe Suite; a lounge visitor values the position and view while finding the prices inflated.

36 guests said so on Google, from 9 February 2025 to 12 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Geneva: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 23 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against in Geneva:

Price: for 2, the night of 26 March 2027, from 1,608 CHF on Google Hotels on 20 October 2026.

What a night costs, period by period

Your day

At breakfast

Start at Le Jardinier

Le Jardinier serves breakfast 7am–10.30am; in the suite it can be ordered from 6.30am. I would take a table before going out.

In the morning

The spa pool

After swimming, I would choose between 2 saunas and 2 steam rooms; there are also Swedish baths and snow and ice showers.

In the afternoon

A fragrance to take home

At the Guerlain boutique I would choose a fragrance and have the bottle personalised.

At dinner

The L’Atelier counter

At L’Atelier Robuchon I would choose an evening Tuesday to Saturday, from 7pm with last orders at 9pm. Lunch is served Friday and Saturday.

Later

In the former vault

The Cigar Lounge occupies the former bank vault: open to guests 24 hours a day, with service 10am–midnight.

The Woodward reviews

The voices chosen here describe stays, the restaurants, the bar and the spa.

Yes, including taking over the whole hotel. The restaurants can be booked for a private occasion: Le Jardinier holds up to 26 guests and L’Atelier Robuchon up to 70.

Is it open all year?

Nights are on sale in every month through 14 September 2027.1

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix façade on Quai du Mont-Blanc

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix

The de la Paix opened on Quai du Mont-Blanc in 1865: the lake and Jet d’Eau lie beyond its windows. Start with the Lakefront Junior Suite for its balcony.

Il Four Seasons des Bergues sul lungolago

Four Seasons Hotel Des Bergues

At Four Seasons des Bergues Geneva, your day can begin with a swim above the rooftops and finish at IZUMI: on the terrace in summer, in the library in winter.

The pool terrace facing Lake Geneva

Hotel President Wilson

On Lake Geneva’s quay, the President Wilson pairs dinner at Bayview with an outdoor pool for the warmer months. I would start with a lake-facing room.

The outdoor pool in the grounds, with Lake Geneva and the Alps

La Réserve Genève

Here the park runs down to the lake: the outdoor pool sits among the trees, with Lake Geneva and the Alps ahead. I’d bring even the youngest, since La Petite Réserve takes them from 6 months, and keep an evening for Cantonese dinner at Tsé Fung.

The Junior Suite Lake View sitting area at InterContinental Geneva, with the lake beyond the windows

InterContinental Geneva

From a Junior Suite Lake View I would look out to the lake and Mont Blanc, with 45 m² for time indoors. This is the international district, convenient for the UN and farther from the centre.

The Bellevue Suite bedroom, with the Jet d’Eau beyond the balcony door

Hôtel d’Angleterre

At the d’Angleterre I would choose the Bellevue Suite: 70 m² with a balcony on the lake, and the Jet d’Eau in the doorway. There are 45 rooms on the Quai du Mont-Blanc, and the Leopard Bar has live music 6 nights a week.

The hotel façade at dusk, its sign lit in the Old Town

Hôtel Les Armures

Les Armures is a 17th-century house one minute from St Peter’s Cathedral. Its 32 rooms share the house with Geneva’s oldest café, where the evening means a moitié-moitié fondue.

The lounge with the fire lit and the murals of the city

Hôtel de la Cigogne

At La Cigogne, on Place Longemalle, the lounge fire is lit on winter evenings beneath murals of the city. Its 49 rooms are all different, a short walk from the lake and the Old Town.

An open French window onto the balcony, with the lake and the Jet d’Eau

Beau-Rivage Genève

At the Beau-Rivage I would choose the Junior Suite Lake View Panorama: 45 m² facing the Jet d’Eau, with balconies. There are 95 rooms and suites on the Quai du Mont-Blanc, and the same family has run the house since 1865.

Mandarin Oriental Geneva beside the Rhône

Mandarin Oriental Geneva

The Rhône runs beneath Mandarin Oriental Geneva’s windows: choose a River View room to see it from upstairs. Keep an evening for SACHI’s Omakase counter.

The Omnia lit at night above the glass-walled pool

The Omnia

At night, The Omnia lights the pool’s glass walls beneath the lodge. Above them are 30 rooms; the Matterhorn Suite’s balcony faces the Matterhorn.

The indoor pool at Victoria-Jungfrau beneath its glass roof

Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa

Begin at Victoria-Jungfrau with a swim beneath the glass roof: the indoor pool is 20 m long. Then choose Deluxe Double for a Jungfrau view from bed.
