Lily Beach restaurant by restaurant: Lily Maa, Tamarind, teppanyaki and Les Turquoise d’Aqua

Every Lily Beach restaurant question begins with the Platinum Plan, the only way the resort is sold: it covers every meal at the Lily Maa buffet, lunch at AQVA or Vibes and one Tamarind dinner per person per week. Teppanyaki at $150++, Les Turquoise d’Aqua and lobster are extra.

Lily Maa’s long, lit buffet, over a sand floor

The choice, in short

Why choose Lily Beach

You like a buffet that changes every night, with wine and Champagne poured and no bill to sign.

In the plan

When to look elsewhere

One à la carte dinner a week is included; teppanyaki, the tasting menu and lobster are extras.

Other Maldives tables

A sand floor, a deck over the lagoon and an iron griddle

Lily Maa feeds the island 3 times a day; the other tables are for the evenings you book.

Lily Maa takes its name from the local word for flower and is the resort’s main restaurant: a buffet on a sand floor, with live cooking stations, a grill and a barbecue. Dinner follows a weekly calendar. Monday is East Meets West, Tuesday the Seafood Extravaganza, Wednesday Asia and street food, Thursday the chef’s market, Friday the Maldivian night, Saturday the Mediterranean and Sunday ‘famous classics around the world’. The Platinum Plan keeps 20 European cheeses on the counter at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lily Maa also has a live lobster tank: you pick your lobster and say how you want it cooked, with a reservation and a supplementary charge whose amount the page leaves out.

Tamarind stands over the water, with open decks outside and a chandelier hung with a golden garland above the cooking station. Its menu is half Thai, half Indian: tom yam koong, pad thai with prawns, green curry chicken and black pepper beef on one side; butter chicken, lamb dopiaza, tandoori chicken tikka and naan 4 ways on the other. Mango with sticky rice or gulab jamun closes the meal. The Chef’s Special, 4 courses with half a lobster stir-fried in red curry paste, costs $65++ per person and sits outside the plan.

Teppanyaki is cooked every evening at AQVA, on an iron griddle with room for 12 around it, by chefs who flip and juggle as they go. The dinner menu is priced at $150++ and brings shiitake miso soup and hibachi garlic fried rice, starters such as salmon tataki and fried soft-shell crab, then reef fish or tuna, or Australian Angus tenderloin or Wagyu rib eye, and a matcha cheesecake. A full lobster tail is $75++ more. Les Turquoise d’Aqua is the fine-dining table: a 5-course tasting menu that goes from scallops with Beluga caviar to lamb loin, brown-butter sea bass, Black Angus tenderloin in truffle sauce and tiramisu bonbons. Its menu, headed Wine & Dine, names a wine beside most courses and prints $100++ per person; there is a vegetarian version. That file is dated 14 April 2025 and still prints 16% GST where the teppanyaki menu of May 2026 prints 17%, so confirm the price when you reserve.

At lunch the buffet has 2 à la carte alternatives. AQVA, on the sunset side beside the infinity pool, is a quiet zone for guests aged 16 and over; its lunch menu runs from reef fish tartare and beef carpaccio to a grilled seafood platter, the catch of the day and a shrimp risotto. Vibes, beside the 2 pools where the families gather, is the lively one, and twice a week a live band or a DJ plays there after dark. The Spirit Bar, with sand underfoot and shisha available, is the place for the first espresso and the last glass.

In the Google reviews collected on 5 October 2026 the buffet draws both the warmest lines and the sharpest. A guest writing in September 2026 loved Lily Maa and chose Vibes for lunch, and found some of Tamarind’s dishes too spicy. Another, in January 2026, ate at all 4 restaurants and calls the service at AQVA, Vibes and Tamarind impeccable and Lily Maa’s inconsistent, with used plates left on the table for more than 15 minutes. A one-star review of April 2026 found little choice at the buffet and liked the other restaurants better. A guest in March 2026 thanks the kitchen for its care over food intolerances and allergies, and one in August 2026 warns that the birds at AQVA help themselves to your plate.

6 things to arrange, from the flight to the last night

  • Send your diet ahead

The kitchens cook halal, kosher, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free meals. The resort asks to be told well in advance.

  • Reserve Tamarind first

Seating is limited and the restaurant’s page suggests booking at the earliest opportunity, through the front office.

  • Order at AQVA or Vibes

Both serve a snack menu from the end of lunch until evening, with cocktails, juices, tea and coffee poured without limit.

  • Ask for the dhoni table

The resort lays a private table on the beach under shade sails cut like those of a dhoni. A post of March 2017, still on its site, prices the lunch at $75++ per couple and the barbecue dinner at $185++ per person, with a 12% tax line that dates it; ask for the current figure when you book.

  • Read the 2 plus signs

A price followed by ++ is before the service charge and the goods and services tax. The teppanyaki menu states 10% and 17%.

  • Count the gala dinners

The festive supplements are mandatory. The resort’s FAQ, read on 11 October 2026, still gave the 2025 figures: $265 per adult and $135 per child aged 6 to 11 on Christmas Eve, $345 and $175 on New Year’s Eve, with under-6s free.

Lily Beach restaurant: your questions

How many restaurants does Lily Beach have?

The resort’s FAQ counts 4 restaurants and 4 bars. Its dining page names the restaurants as Lily Maa, Tamarind, Teppanyaki and Les Turquoise d’Aqua, and the bars as Vibes, AQVA and the Spirit Bar; the Platinum Plan adds a Beach Bar.

Is Tamarind included in the Platinum Plan?

Once a week: the plan gives each guest one à la carte dinner there per week of the stay. The Chef’s Special with half a lobster is charged separately.

How much is teppanyaki at Lily Beach?

The dinner menu is headed $150++, and the lobster tail added to the main course $75++. The menu prints no total and does not say whether the price is per person. By our own arithmetic, with the 10% service charge and the 17% tax it states, $150 comes to $190.50 if the 2 are simply added and $193.05 if the tax is charged on the service as well.

What time is dinner at Lily Maa?

From 7pm to 9.30pm. The theme depends on the day of the week, so a guest who wants the seafood buffet should be on the island on a Tuesday.

Can children eat at AQVA?

AQVA’s page keeps it as a quiet zone for guests of 16 and over, although the lunch menu filed under its name prints a kids’ menu. Vibes is the bar the resort points families to, Lily Maa is open to everyone, and Tamarind prints a kids’ menu of its own.

Is there a dress code in the restaurants?

Cover swimwear everywhere food and drink are served. For dinner the resort asks for what it calls island casual, and its FAQ gives tank tops as the example of what to leave in the villa.

Can Lily Beach cater for vegans or a gluten-free diet?

Yes, and for halal, kosher and vegetarian diets too, if the resort knows ahead of the stay. Lily Maa offers a special menu on request, and Les Turquoise d’Aqua has a vegetarian tasting menu.

Is the lobster at Lily Maa included?

No. Lobster from the tank is ordered by reservation and charged as a supplement, and a lobster tail at the teppanyaki is an extra as well.

Reserve Tamarind on arrival and keep Tuesday for the seafood buffet
