Among the starters, the Scotch egg with herb mayonnaise and celeriac remoulade is £18, and the pâté royale with cherry and port chutney £26.³

Among the mains, haddock and chips with tartare sauce and minted mushy peas is £28, the Holborn Burger with smoked applewood cheddar £32.³

To finish, the Bramley apple and blackberry crumble with clotted cream ice cream and the pear tarte Tatin are £14 each; the British cheeses, at £28, are Pitchfork cheddar, Golden Cross, Tunworth, Baron Bigod and Stichelton.³
