Rosewood London: Monet’s afternoon tea in the Mirror Room
At Rosewood London, afternoon tea means 3 paintings by Claude Monet rebuilt as cakes by Executive Pastry Chef Mark Perkins, served in the Mirror Room. The artist changes: before Monet, in 2025, it was Hokusai.

Who the Mirror Room tea is for
Why go
The tea list runs to 2 yellow teas and to Ya Bao, a white tea limited to 2 kilograms a year (£10 supplement).
CaviarWhen to look elsewhere
If you would rather spend the afternoon on savoury food than on a pastry chef’s cakes, The Pie Room, in the same hotel, is the savoury alternative.
The cakesSavouries, scones and the bar
There are 5 savouries: a camembert custard tart with pear chutney, a lobster and prawn profiterole with forest fruit tea jelly, egg mayonnaise with King’s Imperial caviar in a brioche bun, roast chicken with tarragon mayonnaise, and cured salmon with trout roe.3
The plain and raisin scones are baked every day in the hotel’s pastry kitchen and come with Cornish clotted cream, homemade lemon curd and English strawberry jam; lemon and vanilla madeleines with jasmine tea cream come with the art cakes.3
Among the tea’s cocktails, The Cliffs mixes manzanilla en rama sherry, pistachio eau de vie, rose and Champagne; the alcohol-free Zen uses Seedlip Garden and Martini Floreale. Champagne by the bottle runs from £145 for Billecart-Salmon Réserve to £495 for Dom Pérignon 2013.3
The festive tea
- Festive Art Afternoon Tea
£85 a head, with a caramelised onion and Stilton tart, roast bronze turkey on a milk bun with cranberry sauce, and mince pies beside the scones; it is a sample menu and may change.5
