You want the tower in the window, near and whole, for an anniversary, a proposal or a first visit to Paris, with a terrace if the season allows.
The Eiffel View RoomYou want the centre on foot or the view for less: Le Meurice, on the Tuileries, sold an Eiffel room with a Juliet balcony for €2,450 with taxes on 9 December, with the tower 2.6 km away.
Other hotelsRoland Bonaparte built here for his library and his herbaria a few years after the tower went up on the other bank; the view he had is the one the hotel now sells by the room.
Prince Roland Bonaparte, a great-nephew of Napoleon, bought the land on the Chaillot hill in 1891 and had the architect Ernest Janty build his house between 1892 and 1895, to hold a library of nearly 150,000 books and his collections of plants, French Wikipedia records. He died there in 1924. The State later used the building for its foreign trade office and sold it to Shangri-La in 2005; the hotel opened on 17 December 2010.
Across the river the tower had stood since 1889, when it opened lit by 10,000 gaslights, its operator recalls. Today the house holds Palace distinction and Monument Historique status, the hotel says, and keeps the prince’s former stables, where the spa’s pool now is, beside a garden with views of the tower.
To learn what the view is like from inside, we read the 1,124 Google reviews with text among the hotel’s latest 2,000, up to 1 October 2026: 123 mention the tower. Guests write of waking up to it, of dinner in the room to watch it sparkle, of a tower that is “practically in your room”, and in 2023 one guest saw it from the bathroom as well, the reviews say.
Times for 17 November 2026, when the sun sets at 5.08pm; on 9 December it sets a quarter of an hour sooner, and the sparkles keep the same hours.

On 17 November the sun goes down at 5.08pm. The tower’s golden lights come on by themselves within 10 minutes of dark, and the beacon starts turning at the top, its operator explains.
Its 20,000 bulbs flash for 5 minutes at the start of every hour from nightfall, the operator says, so the first comes at 6pm in November. Le Bar Botaniste, the prince’s botany turned into cocktails, opens at the same hour and stays open until 1am.
Maison Roland, the hotel’s bistro in the garden, serves from noon to 10pm every day. Several guests ate upstairs instead to keep the tower in sight, their reviews say; room service runs 24 hours a day.
At midnight the tower sparkles one last time and goes dark, lights and beacon together; in summer, when it closes at 12.45am, the last sparkle comes at 1am, the operator says.
Breakfast is served from 7am to 10.30am. The 17-metre pool of Chi, The Spa, in the prince’s former stables, opens to hotel guests at 7am and closes at 9pm.
The hotel stands on the Chaillot hill above the Seine; the tower is on the other bank, 15 minutes away on foot.

| Superior and Deluxe rooms | 36 and 40 m²; a courtyard or the glass cupola, the garden or the avenues, and no tower |
The first Eiffel category frames the tower in its window; the sixth-floor suite puts a terrace around it.

Both photographs come from the hotel. In the first, the Eiffel View Room’s French window opens onto the tower just beyond a wrought-iron rail, near enough to make out its girders. In the second, the sitting room of La Suite Gustave Eiffel catches it in the middle window, with the terrace beyond the doors on the right. Between the 2 sit the Terrace Eiffel View Room, 55 m² with its own terrace, and the Duplex Eiffel View Suite, whose windows rise 2 storeys. Every bathroom has a walk-in shower, a separate bath and heated floors.

Most of them stop at the hotel’s name. The table below goes one step further, to the room each palace sells with the tower in its description and what that room cost on the same night.
Shangri-La is the nearest. Further off, the tower becomes one part of a wider view: to the right of a balcony on avenue Montaigne, above the Grand Palais from avenue Gabriel, beyond the Tuileries from rue de Rivoli, at the end of the Seine from the Pont Neuf.

Which rooms, from where, at what hour and at what price: what travellers ask before booking a room facing the tower.
Those whose descriptions promise it: the Eiffel View Room (45 m²), the Terrace Eiffel View Room (55 m², with a terrace), the Paris Panoramic Signature Room (54 m² and a 43 m² terrace), the Duplex Eiffel View Suite and the Duplex Terrace Eiffel View Suite, La Suite Gustave Eiffel on the sixth floor, La Suite Chaillot, La Suite Shangri-La and the Family Eiffel View Suite. The Junior Suite Paris View and the Terrace Suite with Paris View get a partial view, the rooms page says.
It costs about €1,000 to €1,200 a night more than a room of the same size without it. On Booking.com, for 9 December 2026, the 45 m² Eiffel View Room cost €3,455 and the 45 m² Terrace Room, which looks onto the garden or the avenues, €2,273; for 13 January 2027 the gap was €1,000, €3,273 against €2,273. Both before 10% VAT. What the supplement buys here is distance: at 640 metres the tower fills the window, where from the other palaces it stands 1.1 to 3.5 km away. The choice is between that closer tower view and the Terrace Room’s outdoor space; the value of the supplement depends on how much time you plan to spend in the room.
From the rooms and suites that face it, yes. The tower sparkles for 5 minutes at the start of every hour from nightfall until midnight, and in summer, when it closes at 12.45am, until 1am, its operator says. On 17 November 2026 the sun sets at 5.08pm, so the first sparkle is at 6pm and there are 7 before the lights go out. From a Superior or a Deluxe room you will not see them.
No. The Superior Room, 36 m², looks onto the courtyard or the glass cupola, and the Deluxe, 40 m², onto the hotel garden or the surrounding avenues, the rooms page says. 2 guests write of upgrades in their Google reviews: in 2020 to an Eiffel Tower view, and in 2024 from an Eiffel View Room to a duplex with a terrace.
The marble bathroom of the Paris Panoramic Signature Room is advertised with a glimpse of the tower. That bathroom view is not specified for the other categories. In the Google reviews, a guest in October 2023 had the view from the bathroom, and a guest in 2019 describes terrace rooms where the terrace, the bed and the bath all face the tower.
1,089 metres, about 15 minutes, from the hotel to the foot of the tower on avenue Gustave Eiffel, crossing the Seine, on an OpenStreetMap walking route measured on 4 October 2026. Place du Trocadéro, the esplanade facing the tower, is 528 metres away, 7 minutes. In a straight line the tower stands 640 metres from the hotel.
On Booking.com, read on 4 October 2026 for 2, room only, with free cancellation: €2,545 on 17 November 2026 with a 20% autumn discount (€3,182 without it), €3,455 on 9 December 2026 and €3,273 on 13 January 2027, each before 10% VAT and a city tax of €16 a person a night. With breakfast for 2 the same room cost €3,309, €3,582 and €3,400. The Terrace Eiffel View Room cost €2,909, €4,182 and €3,727 on the same 3 nights.
From the garden, yes: the hotel speaks of a secret garden with Eiffel Tower views, where Maison Roland serves lunch and dinner, and guests in the Google reviews describe tea and lunches on the terrace facing it. The Junior Suite Paris View gets a partial view. For the other rooms, the view depends on what the category’s description promises.
