Who Soneva Fushi suits as a family

Why choose it

Children of 4 to 17 who want a club, a bike and a reef; parents who want a beach villa with a pool and a separate room for the children.

The club

When to look elsewhere

You need a communal pool, a budget below $1,800 a night, or open sea from every villa: there is no shared pool, and the sunset side faces the inhabited island of Eydhafushi.

The other clubs

Why the whole of Soneva Fushi, beyond the club

Around The Den lies an island of jungle, beaches and treat rooms.

Kunfunadhoo measures 1,400 by 400 metres, and every villa comes with bicycles and tricycles, child seats and helmets on request (your journey). The house rule is “no news, no shoes”: heels stay at home.

The cheese, chocolate and ice-cream rooms are open around the clock, and the restaurants number more than a dozen (dining). The Observatory and the open-air Cinema Paradiso fill the evenings (experiences).

The coral on the house reef is partly bleached, but the fish are plentiful (Luxury Explorer). From May to October the resort runs boats to Hanifaru Bay for the manta rays, and the lagoon is calm, without currents (your journey, Mr & Mrs Smith).

A family day at Soneva Fushi, hour by hour

The club opens the morning, the reef fills the afternoon and the evening ends under the stars.

08:00

Breakfast

Breakfast is included at Mihiree Mithaa, spread over several rooms; in 2026 children eat free on breakfast, half and full board (meal plans).

09:30

The Den

The children head for the 8-metre pirate ship, the 2 pools and the Lego room; qualified childminders are there all day (The Den).

11:30

The reef from the beach

The house reef is reached from 4 access points on the beach (Mr & Mrs Smith), with reef sharks, turtles and eagle rays (immaldives).

13:00

Lunch in the treetops

At Flying Sauces lunch is served high in the trees and reached by zip-line (Soneva Fushi, dining); on full board, lunch is at Mihiree Mithaa or Out of the Blue (meal plans).

16:00

A workshop

The Den runs a weekly programme of cooking, nature walks and island adventures, all included (The Den).

20:30

Films and stars

Cinema Paradiso shows films outdoors in the jungle, and the Observatory’s resident astronomer reads the sky on set evenings (experiences).
