The Ned spa: 20-metre pool, treatments and the day pass

The Ned spa has a 20-metre indoor pool, a wooden sauna, a marble steam room and 8 treatment rooms, open to adults aged 18 and over. Book your room direct for complimentary access, or arrange a treatment-spend day pass; the rooftop is a separate club space.

The choice, in short

Why choose The Ned

A swim and a treatment beneath the old banking hall.

When to look elsewhere

A massage booking alone does not automatically reach the day-pass minimum, and spa access does not include the rooftop.

Pool time depends on how you book

Choose between access with a direct hotel booking and a treatment-spend day pass.

The spa is open daily, 8am–8pm, for adults aged 18 and over. The treatment menu describes a 20-metre indoor pool, wooden sauna, marble steam room and 8 treatment rooms. Guests who book their room directly receive complimentary spa access during the stay.

For a day pass, you spend a minimum amount on treatments and gain access to the pool, sauna and steam room, subject to availability. At weekends the minimum is £350. For weekdays, the booking page quotes £200 while the linked treatment menu says £250: confirm the applicable total with the spa before choosing your treatments. The same documents disagree on Bank Holidays, so confirm availability and minimum spend for those dates too.

A Signature Massage costs £160 for 60 minutes or £195 for 90 minutes, with light-to-medium pressure. Deep Tissue is £195 for 60 minutes or £230 for 90 minutes. The 90-minute Salt Scrub and Massage is £220; a 60-minute Signature Facial is £165. Couples can book a room with 2 therapists: Signature Couples Massage is £210 per person for 60 minutes or £250 per person for 90.

The rooftop belongs to the club and has separate access rules. It is not an automatic extra with a spa day.

At a weekend minimum of £350, a single £195 ninety-minute Signature Massage falls £155 short of the stated treatment-spend threshold. Even the £230 ninety-minute Deep Tissue treatment falls £120 short of it. These are arithmetic examples using the published menu, not proposed packages or a promise that a cash top-up buys entry. Ask the spa which combination qualifies for your date and whether there is enough appointment time for everything you want. A pool visit organised around a spending threshold needs that answer before you commit to a single treatment.

A couples appointment needs a separate calculation: the 60-minute Signature Couples Massage is £210 per person, so the treatment costs £420 for 2 people. That total does not establish whether 2 day passes qualify, since you still need the spa to confirm how it applies the threshold to each visitor. State that 2 people want both the treatment and facilities when enquiring. If one of you mainly wants to swim and the other wants a massage, explain that too; before paying, ask the spa to confirm facilities access for each of you.

5 details that decide the visit

  • Book direct for complimentary access

The hotel offers free spa access during stays reserved directly.

  • Confirm the treatment-spend threshold

The weekend threshold is £350; weekday documents give £200 and £250. Ask which applies before selecting services.

  • Choose pressure and duration

Signature Massage is light-to-medium pressure; Deep Tissue medium-to-firm.

  • Give at least 24 hours’ notice

Treatments cancelled later incur the full charge. The Parlour’s hair services have a separate 48-hour policy.

  • Arrange club access separately

The spa day pass is for the pool, sauna and steam room in the spa; do not plan a rooftop visit on that basis.

The Ned spa: your questions

Can I use The Ned spa without staying?

Yes, through a day pass based on minimum treatment spend and availability. The weekend minimum is £350; confirm weekday and Bank Holiday conditions with the spa because its current documents differ.

Is the spa free for hotel guests?

Guests who book their room directly receive complimentary spa access during their stay.

Does a spa day include the rooftop?

No automatic rooftop access is stated in the spa day pass. The rooftop has separate club access rules.

How much is a massage?

Signature Massage is £160 for 60 minutes or £195 for 90. Deep Tissue is £195 for 60 minutes or £230 for 90; these amounts do not all reach the day-pass minimum on their own.

Can children use the spa?

The spa is for adults aged 18 and over.

How much notice do I need to cancel?

Give at least 24 hours’ notice for treatments to avoid the full charge. Hair services at the Parlour require 48 hours.
