Why You & Me, for a holiday without children

An island planned for adults from its opening in 2019, with most of its life over the water and at the table.

The resort opened officially on 1 March 2019 under the name You & Me by Cocoon, on the island of Uthurumaafaru in Raa Atoll (Hotelier Maldives). It belongs to The Cocoon Collection, alongside Cocoon Maldives and Joy Island, and admits guests from 16 only, with no facilities for children (official site, FAQ). The island covers about 5.8 hectares, and its shore is a 13-minute walk round on OpenStreetMap.

Most of a stay happens above the lagoon. Of the 109 rooms, 99 stand on stilts, the Aqua Suites with Slide drop you from the deck into the water, and the spa’s 4 treatment bungalows sit over the sea with a porthole beneath the massage bed (accommodation, Aqua Suite with Slide, spa, fact sheet). A honeymoon couple in August 2026 write of sharks swimming round their villa at night (Google reviews).

The table does the rest: 5 à la carte restaurants on the plan, from Rising Sun’s teppanyaki to pizza at La Pasta, and H2O, 6 metres down, where chef Andrea Berton’s set menu is served to 20 guests at a time (dining, H2O). A couple who came for their honeymoon in July 2026 call the underwater restaurant well worth the visit (Google reviews).

The resort lists honeymooners first among the guests it is designed for (official site), and its reviews bear it out: of the 415 Google reviews written in 2026 and read on 5 October 2026, 74 mention a honeymoon, and the resort scores 4.8 out of 5 from 1,424 reviews (Google reviews). A couple in February 2026 rarely saw other guests except at mealtimes (Google reviews).

At Velana airport the plan opens The Cocoon Collection’s lounge at the seaplane terminal; the flight to Raa Atoll takes 45 minutes, and a chilled bottle of sparkling wine with canapés is waiting in the villa (Premium All-Inclusive, FAQ).
The day’s only breakfast, on a sand floor
The Sand cooks breakfast at its live stations and waiters carry the plates to your table; the same room, with its wine cellar, serves dinner too (The Sand, Premium All-Inclusive).
Paddleboards, kayaks and the first drink
The plan’s bar list opens at 10am, and snorkelling gear, kayaks and paddleboards are unlimited; the resort says the lagoon round the island can be snorkelled from the villas, and that its house reef is a short boat ride out (Premium All-Inclusive, FAQ).
Lunch by the pool or with your feet in the sand
Green Carpet serves lunch by the pool from 12.30 to 3pm; La Pasta, on the beach, makes its own pasta and pizza at lunch and at dinner (Green Carpet, dining).
Tea at Cheers Bar, or a cruise at sunset
Tea, coffee and snacks are set out at Cheers Bar from 4.30 to 6pm; a stay of 3 nights or more brings one sunset cruise on the plan, and 7 nights a catamaran outing as well (Premium All-Inclusive).
Teppanyaki, sushi or a seafood barbecue
Dinner is à la carte at Rising Sun’s teppanyaki, the Sushi Bar, La Pasta or The Sand, with 3 themed nights in the plan, one of them a barbecue of lobster, prawns and oysters; H2O, 6 metres under the sea, is the one table the plan leaves out (Premium All-Inclusive, H2O).
Live music until the plan closes at 2am
Cheers Bar has live music every evening, and the programme runs from the White Party and Boduberu Night to karaoke and film nights; a drink ordered after 2am is charged at menu price (Cheers Bar, Premium All-Inclusive).

Reserve H2O when you book, since it seats 20 at a time, and stay at least 5 nights if you can: the spirits and the cooking class start from the fifth night, the catamaran from the seventh.

The Lagoon Villa is the way in: 55 m² over the water, facing sunrise, for 2 adults and without a pool; for 16 to 19 November 2026 the resort’s own rate on Google was $1,038 a night for it, $1,204 for the Aqua Suite with Slide and $1,906 for the You & Me Suite, read on 5 October 2026 (Lagoon Villa, Google Hotels). For a honeymoon, the 80 m² Aqua Suite with Private Pool faces the sunset, with an infinity pool, direct access to the lagoon from the deck and a bath for 2 (Aqua Suite with Private Pool). Booked as a Honeymoon Getaway from 4 nights, a Manta Villa, the fact sheet’s name for the Lagoon Villa, can be moved up to a Dolphin Villa on request, subject to the resort’s confirmation (Honeymoon Getaway, fact sheet).

Each resort’s minimum age, meal plan and transfer, as its own website gives them on 5 October 2026.

The 6 resorts set beside You & Me each state on their own website that the whole resort is for adults, and they differ on the age, the plan and the journey.

The minimum age runs from guests above the age of 15 at Hurawalhi to 18 at Komandoo, Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa and Anantara Veli; OBLU SELECT Lobigili and Adaaran Prestige Vadoo print no age on their home pages. 3 of the islands are a speedboat ride from Malé: Lobigili and Vadoo in 15 minutes with the transfer included, Veli in about 30 (Lobi Plan, Adaaran Prestige Vadoo, Anantara Veli).

An area kept for adults inside a resort that welcomes children is a different holiday. At Lily Beach the deck of the AQVA bar is reserved for guests over 16 (Lily Beach FAQ); Anantara Veli’s guests may dine and use the facilities at Anantara Dhigu, the sister resort in the same lagoon that Anantara recommends to families (Anantara Veli); Kandolhu takes children from the age of 8 (Kandolhu FAQ); and when Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa reopened in December 2019, only its Platinum Island was for adults (maldives.net.mv).

What is the minimum age at You & Me Maldives?

16: the resort takes guests aged 16 and over and has no facilities for children (FAQ, fact sheet). Booking.com adds that the guest who checks in must be 18, that there are no cots and that an extra bed costs $255 a person a night; the seaplane charges its adult fare from 16 (Booking.com).

Booked as a Honeymoon Getaway, the one-bedroom villas and suites cost 15% less all year; stays of 4 nights add a bottle of wine, chocolates and an evening turndown, stays of 6 a candlelit dinner for 2 (Honeymoon Getaway). Ceremonies take place on the beach under a floral arch at sunset, at prices the resort does not publish (weddings).

Is You & Me Maldives all inclusive?

Yes, and only that: since 27 December 2025 every stay is sold on Premium All-Inclusive, which took the place of the All-Inclusive and All-Inclusive Extreme packages (meal plans). It covers the 5 à la carte restaurants and drinks by the glass from 10am to 2am; H2O, motorised water sports, the spa and the seaplane are charged (Premium All-Inclusive).

How much is You & Me Maldives per night?

On Google’s calendar read on 12 October 2026 a night for 2 cost $760 for 16 November 2026, $759 for 5 December and $1,721 for Christmas Eve, then $918 for 11 January and $969 for 10 May 2027; the calendar had no prices for the nights of 27 December to 7 January (Google Hotels). Premium All-Inclusive is the only plan the resort sells (meal plans); the seaplane is extra.

Is the seaplane to You & Me included?

No: it is charged on top of the room (Booking.com). The flight takes 45 minutes from Velana airport (official site); international arrivals after 3.30pm stay a night near Malé first, and the fact sheet offers late arrivals a 30-minute domestic flight to Ifuru with a 20-minute speedboat (Booking.com, fact sheet).

Does You & Me Maldives have a house reef?

The resort places its house reef a short boat ride away, says the lagoon round the island can be snorkelled from the villas, and warns of currents when the sea is rough (FAQ). The plan includes one snorkelling trip and the gear for the whole stay (Premium All-Inclusive). Among the adults-only islands, Adaaran Prestige Vadoo describes one of the finest house reefs in Malé Atoll below its villas (Adaaran Prestige Vadoo).
