Other Tokyo spasSwimming, bathing and a room of your own
The water and the skyline are the reasons to take your time here.
The heated indoor pool is 30 metres long, with tall windows looking across Tokyo. The spa occupies 2,500 square metres on 2 floors and includes traditional Japanese bathing, showers and steam rooms.
Each of the 8 treatment rooms has its own dressing room, treatment area, bathroom, steam shower and relaxation area. The seasonal journey combines a 30-minute scrub or wrap with a 90-minute massage using Japanese herbs, plants and teas. September to November brings Japan’s 7 autumn herbs, chrysanthemum, sansho and hinoki.
For movement, the gym uses Technogym and Life Fitness equipment; the yoga and Pilates studio has allegro reformers. Private instruction is available. Evening yoga combines light movement, meditation and breath-led exercises; Zazen meditation is guided by a Japanese monk.
The pool, baths and gym are included with a hotel stay. Treatments run from 10am to 10pm, with the last appointment at 9pm; the pool and baths open from 6.30am to 10pm. For the Misogi bathing ritual, you can arrive up to an hour early. Cancel during spa opening hours, with at least 6 hours’ notice, to avoid the full treatment charge.
If you book the 2-hour seasonal journey at 3pm and want the full suggested hour for Misogi beforehand, plan to arrive at 2pm and finish the treatment at 5pm. Allow 3 hours in total: one for Misogi and 2 for the treatment. The seasonal part is also date-specific: the menu assigns the autumn ingredients to September–November and switches to pine, ginger, yuzu oil, sake kasu and kuzuyu tea for December–February. Ask for the season that matches your stay, especially if one particular scent or ingredient drew you to the treatment.
The cancellation deadline needs its own place in your plans. For a 5pm appointment, 6 hours’ notice means contacting the spa by 11am; that falls inside the stated 6.30am–10pm hours for cancellations. For a morning appointment, confirm the cancellation deadline with the spa the previous day, within its opening hours. These are timetable examples applying the published rule. For a family stay, arrange the swim separately from the adults’ appointments: children 15 and under may swim with an adult, while spa treatments and the other facilities have a minimum age of 16. Infants wearing nappies cannot use the pool.

- Guest experiences at Aman Tokyo
A visitor writing in July 2026 singled out the large pool and its views, including Tokyo Tower. An October guest was less impressed, describing the spa and pool facilities as dated compared with other properties at a similar price.
