First, the Pincio
There is time for the climb: from the hotel’s entrance the Pincio terrace is 855 metres, 12 minutes on foot, and Piazza del Popolo 223 metres, just 3 minutes, measured on OpenStreetMap’s streets.
The Hotel de Russie’s Sunday brunch means Le Jardin, in Valadier’s terraced garden below the Pincio, 12.30 to 3.30pm, at €98 a head, drinks extra. Its page publishes no menu and doesn’t say whether you eat outside; in 2024 the MICHELIN Guide put it in the garden in fine weather.

You want a Sunday lunch outdoors, among the terraces of a garden in the middle of Rome, with Fulvio Pierangelini’s cooking and children welcome.
The brunchYou want brunch on a Saturday, with drinks included or for under €70: the Locarno does it on Saturdays too, at €65 with bottomless Bloody Marys, and the EDITION at €55 with prosecco.
Other brunchesThe garden starts at Via del Babuino and climbs to the Pincio, through terraces, plants and water. In fine weather brunch settles along that climb; in the colder months, the MICHELIN Guide wrote in 2024, it moves indoors.
Giuseppe Valadier designed it in the early 19th century, the hotel says: a terraced garden of grottoes, nymphaea and orange trees, climbing towards the Pincio.
In 2020 the architect Pietro Paolo Lateano gave it back its balustrades, statues and fountains, the hotel says, and in the evening it is lit up.
In 1917 Picasso and Cocteau walked here, and Cocteau wrote to his mother of a hotel inside a garden that climbs and looks over Rome, with oranges to pick from the window, the hotel recalls. Today the MICHELIN Guide gives it 2 Keys.
We came at Le Jardin’s brunch from 3 sides: 9 of the hotel’s official pages and factsheets, the 4 videos filmed at its tables, from the glasshouse to the frescoed room and the terrace, and the 924 Google reviews with text among the 1,908 we gathered. In the 22 that mention the brunch, the garden wins: 14 bring it up, and 7 describe what arrives on the plate. What people remember is where they sat.
Before you sit down, stroll to Piazza del Popolo: it is 3 minutes away. Then head back into the garden. The weather decides whether you eat outside: in 2024 the MICHELIN Guide said the garden in fine weather and indoors in the colder months.
There is time for the climb: from the hotel’s entrance the Pincio terrace is 855 metres, 12 minutes on foot, and Piazza del Popolo 223 metres, just 3 minutes, measured on OpenStreetMap’s streets.
At half past 12 brunch begins: Le Jardin serves it every Sunday since 20 September, from 12.30 to 3.30pm, in the restaurant that opens onto the terraced garden.
What reaches the table depends on who you ask: the restaurant’s page promises a selection of seasonal dishes by chef Fulvio Pierangelini, the hotel’s factsheet live cooking stations, and the MICHELIN Guide, in 2024, a buffet.
The bill is simple: €98 a head, €60 for children aged 3 to 12, drinks extra. For comparison, à la carte at lunch a first course costs €32 to €40 and a main €36 to €62, according to the menu.
Brunch ends at 3.30pm; to stretch the afternoon, the Stravinskij Bar, in the courtyard, stays open until 1am.
From Le Jardin the neighbourhood’s other hotel brunches are all on foot: 4 minutes to the Locarno, 5 to Palazzo Ripetta, 8 to the Bulgari; the EDITION, at 21, is a proper walk.

The brunch garden is there again from the Garden View rooms and suites, redesigned by Olga Polizzi: from the 33 m² Superior Garden View to the 70 m² Deluxe Suite Garden View. The Valadier Suite, 77 m², opens floor-to-ceiling windows and a French balcony onto the garden and the Pincio.

Of the brunches that publish a price, Le Jardin’s is the dearest: €98, against €65 at the Locarno and €55 at the EDITION. Around Piazza del Popolo you choose on foot. The Locarno, 4 minutes away, serves it on Saturday and Sunday, with bottomless Bloody Marys; Palazzo Ripetta, 5, on Sunday, as a buffet, according to one of its pages from 2025; the Bulgari, 8, on Sunday on its fifth floor, with a buffet and à la carte dishes; The Rome EDITION, 21 minutes, on Sundays from 11 October to 1 November, with free-flowing prosecco or mimosas. The Bulgari and Palazzo Ripetta keep their prices to themselves. And on Google, on 28 September 2026, a search for brunch in Rome brought up the map of the centre’s cafés and the guides’ lists first: the Hotel de Russie’s brunch was not on the first 3 pages of results.

Of the 1,908 Google reviews read on 28 September 2026, 924 have text and 22 mention the brunch: 20 give 4 or 5 stars. Guests praise the garden and the service. Drinks are charged separately, and in 2024 more than one guest found a “voluntary” 15% tip on the bill.
The day, the bill, the children, the table: what people ask before a Sunday brunch in Rome.
Not according to the most recent source: Le Jardin’s page, read on 28 September 2026, lists Sundays only, since 20 September. The hotel’s April 2026 factsheet and July activities brochure speak of weekend brunches, but the restaurant’s page is the newest and the most specific.
€98 a head and €60 for children aged 3 to 12, for chef Fulvio Pierangelini’s seasonal dishes; drinks, the hotel says, are charged separately. The bill may also carry a “voluntary” 15% tip, which you can decline: more than one guest reported it in 2024 (the reviews).
In fine weather, yes. Le Jardin has its terrace in the garden at the foot of the Pincio, and in the warmer months meals are served outdoors, the hotel says. The brunch page does not say where it is served; in 2024 the MICHELIN Guide put it in the garden in fine weather and in the indoor dining room in the colder months.
Yes, and for less: €60 from 3 to 12, the hotel says. Hotel guests also get the children’s menu of the Rocco Forte Kids programme (families). In 2024 the MICHELIN Guide also mentioned Sunday activities for children, which today’s page leaves out.
By email or phone: write to fb.derussie@roccofortehotels.com, including through the “Enquire” button on Le Jardin’s page, or call the restaurant on +39 06 32 88 88 70. There is no online booking for the brunch.
No. The restaurant’s page does not keep it for hotel guests, and more than one of the Google reviews comes from someone who dropped in just for brunch. If you do want to stay, the Garden View rooms look over the same garden.
No, but in its restaurants the hotel asks guests to avoid sportswear, shorts and beach shoes, and says most of them opt for smart-casual (Le Jardin).
It depends on the day and your budget. On Sundays, in Valadier’s garden, Le Jardin’s brunch at the Hotel de Russie costs €98, €60 for children aged 3 to 12, from 12.30 to 3.30pm; 4 minutes’ walk away, the Locarno’s Bloody Brunch runs on Saturdays too, at €65 with 2 dishes. For a buffet there are Palazzo Ripetta on Sundays and the Bulgari on Sundays on its fifth floor, with no published price; The Rome EDITION, near Piazza Barberini, does its own from 11 October to 1 November, at €55 with free-flowing prosecco or mimosas.
