Hotel del Coronado prices: a night month by month, and the $50 charge on top

The Google Hotels calendar for one night and 2 adults, read on 11 October 2026, held a price for 247 nights between 12 October 2026 and 1 July 2027. Each is the lowest figure Google showed for the night. It does not say which of the resort’s 5 neighbourhoods or which room it is for, nor whether the mandatory charge and tax are inside. The median night was $561 in the rest of October, about $562 in November, $532 in December, $492 in January, $493 in February, $533 in March, about $588 in April, $538 in May and $684 in June.

Winter is the floor. The lowest night was $453 for Sunday 21 February 2027, with $455 on 5 more nights of January and February; no January night went above $607. The ceiling is in June: $1,929 for Tuesday 8 June 2027, $1,344 for Saturday 5 June and $1,084 for Thursday 3 June, in a month where 11 nights stood at exactly $684. One autumn night belongs with them, Thursday 5 November 2026 at $1,656. The day of the week matters little: the median Saturday was $574 and the median Monday $536.

The calendar has gaps. 4 October nights had no price (15, 17, 19 and 20 October 2026), nor did 2 and 8–10 February, 4 and 5 May, or the Fridays and Saturdays of 11–12, 18–19 and 25–26 June 2027; after 1 July 2027 nothing was shown. The calendar asks for a single night and gives no reason for a blank. The hotel’s reservation policies do speak of minimum-night requirements, and single out stays on 19–20 June and 3–4 July, with no year given, for a 2-night deposit and a 30-day cancellation rule.

A few nights we had read before, on 28 and 29 September 2026. Thursday 5 November was $967 then and $1,656 on 11 October; Friday 16 October went from $603 to $653 and Sunday 29 November from $498 to $517, while Sunday 18 October eased from $520 to $509. For Monday 12 October the later reading listed the sellers: its $639 was Super.com’s price, and the link to Hotel del Coronado itself showed $701, the same as Expedia.

What comes on top is set out on the policies page. The advertised room rate leaves out taxes and a mandatory $50 per room, per night: a $35 resort charge and $15 for the Historic Preservation Fund. Room taxes and assessments stood at 11% on the day we read it; the same page had shown 11.80% on 30 September 2026. If the $453 of 21 February is a room rate in that sense, 11% adds $49.83 and the charge $50: $552.83, or $558.33 should the 11% fall on the $50 as well, which the page does not settle. Self-parking is $59 a vehicle a night and valet $79.

Guests’ Google reviews give the bill from the other side. 2 guests writing in August 2026 each put their room at nearly $800 a night, and one in July at $850, adding $52 a person for the breakfast buffet. Another July guest paid $1,300 for one night in an ocean-view room in the main building. Parking draws its own complaints: an August guest found a $79-a-day valet charge on the final bill for a service they say they never used, and a visitor who came for lunch in September 2026 paid $39 for 2 hours and advises asking the restaurant for its $15 validation.

January 2027 was the cheapest full month of the reading and never rose above $607. December 2026 sat $40 higher at the median and ended on $790 for New Year’s Eve. April added a spike, $902 for Friday 16 April. June was another season altogether: a median of $684, 6 Friday and Saturday nights with no price at all, and the year’s peak on the 8th.
