What remainsDubai’s first waterpark, inspired by Juha
Wild Wadi opened in 1999 by the park’s account, in 1998 by Times of India’s; today Dubai Holding Entertainment runs it.
Its theme is the tale of Juha, a character from Arab folklore, and the park calls itself Dubai’s first. According to Hotelier Middle East it introduced cashless wristbands and the Master Blaster, the world’s first uphill water slide, and in 2007 won the World Waterpark Association’s innovation award.
For years entry came with a stay at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, 368 metres away: Wikipedia still says so, and Expedia sells it as unlimited complimentary entry. The official room pages no longer list it.
It is not the first long closure: in 2023 the park reopened after 6 months of works, according to Hotelier Middle East. In 2026 the annual maintenance break ended with the reopening on 14 February, and resident tickets at AED 149 (Times of India).
Then the park closed again. A hotel guest writes in August that works on the park and the hotel began in March; from 2 June to 25 August 2026, 10 Google reviews describe Wild Wadi closed, and more than one comes from guests who had chosen the hotel for the park.
