Jumeirah Beach Hotel suits families who want a kids’ club free with every room, for ages 4 to 12, and Souk Madinat 17 minutes on foot, with the lowest seller on Google from AED 1,122 for one night for 2 adults. A stay built around Wild Wadi, closed with no reopening date on 5 October 2026, may suit another address better.

Our verdict

Nuska Beach’s terrace on the sand, with the hotel’s wave behind

Jumeirah Beach Hotel opened in December 1997 on an island of reclaimed land off the old Chicago Beach, its wave shape a counterpoint to the Burj Al Arab’s sail a little further along. It is 93 metres high over 26 floors, designed by WS Atkins, and has 598 rooms and suites and 19 villas according to Wikipedia; Expedia counts 618.

Every room includes the pools, the private beach, the Jumeirah Circle kids’ club for ages 4 to 12, and access to Talise Spa and J Club, the gym with tennis, squash and padel. Non-motorised water sports, from kayaks to paddleboards, are free. The Ocean rooms are 50 m²; the Al Bahar villas, 130 to 350 m², come with a butler, a private pool and airport transfers.

2026 is a year of works. Wild Wadi, the waterpark next door that for years came with the stay, is closed: a notice on its own site says so, Google lists it as temporarily closed and Booking.com as closed until further notice, while Expedia still sells unlimited entry. Until the end of October the Kitchen Connection buffet restaurant and the Leisure Pool are under works; Nuska Beach reopens on 15 October and the Floor 24 bar is closed.

On Google it scores 4.6 out of 5 from 15,891 reviews, on Tripadvisor 4.6 from 5,871 and 8.9 on Booking.com. Of the 2,000 most recent Google reviews, since February 2025, 1,669 give 5 stars: guests praise the staff, the beach and the kids’ club. The 2026 reviews also speak of Wild Wadi being closed and of the works, which run until the end of October.

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 24 August 2025 to 4 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Dubai: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 5 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.
