Mina Al Salam suits families who want separate bedrooms within a resort: the 90 m² Ocean Family Room joins 2 rooms, and Google’s lowest seller showed single nights from AED 1,184 for 2 adults. For evenings centred on Downtown, plan on a taxi: Burj Khalifa is a 15-minute drive without traffic.

A family on the Amal Lounge terrace, with the sea behind
  1. A room with benefits

For a sea view and time in the Amal Lounge, I would ask for the Club Ocean Room: 45 m² inside, a 7 m² balcony, and a king bed or 2 singles.

  2. The lower priced week

Read on 14 October 2026, the nights from 21 to 27 June 2027 ranged from AED 1,184 to AED 1,245; the calendar’s dearest night, 24 October 2026, showed AED 5,867.

  3. A treatment at Talise

At Talise, the 60-minute Grounding Full Body Ritual costs AED 1,000 in the winter menu read on 14 October 2026. Give at least 12 hours’ notice of cancellation or amendment; otherwise the full treatment fee applies.

  4. Shimmers with young children

With children aged 11 or under, I would book Shimmers for 5pm at the latest: that is their last seating, leaving time for Greek food beside the beach before the evening.

What Mina Al Salam is

Wooden boats cross green water below the balconies, passing sand-coloured façades and palms. Mina Al Salam belongs to Madinat Jumeirah, the resort on the Umm Suqeim coast. Between the beach, waterfront restaurants and paths along the canals, a day here can pass without a car journey.

The hotel counts 292 rooms and suites, with 12 types in its current catalogue. Deluxe rooms face the resort, lagoon or sea; Club rooms add the Amal Lounge. The 90 m² Two-Bedroom Ocean Family Room joins 2 rooms for parents who want a separate bedroom for the children. Suites have larger living spaces and include return airport transfers.

Club access has a timetable worth knowing before paying for it: breakfast at Hanaaya from 7am to 11am, tea at the Amal Lounge from 3pm to 4:30pm, and canapés with sundowners from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. It makes most sense when you expect to be back at the hotel in the afternoon.

Dining moves from Hanaaya’s international buffet to Greek cooking at Shimmers by the beach. With young children, book Shimmers early: the last seating for ages 11 and under is at 5pm. J Club has an indoor lap pool; treatments take place at Talise, the spa shared by Madinat Jumeirah.

The Google reviews collected on 4 October 2026 repeatedly describe helpful staff, spacious rooms and breakfast. A September guest remembers the slippers and toiletries prepared for their daughter; a July guest praises the beach and breakfast but also describes maintenance noise.

How we choose the hotels

Those who come back

Among the hotel’s regulars, a guest writing in July 2025 on a second stay praises being able to use pools and restaurants across the complex. Another 4 returning guests describe renovated rooms or a modernised hotel in reviews written between September 2024 and August 2025. A parent writing in March 2025, back for a third year with a 5-month-old baby, encourages other parents to travel with theirs.

  • 19 of the 706 reviews with text state an earlier hotel stay
  • From a second stay to a ninth visit
  • One writer describes returning for 20 years

Both returning-guest candidate lists were read; the base is all 706 reviews with text longer than 40 characters. Ambiguous visits and returns to the wider Jumeirah group were left out.

Our reading, point by point

What we found reading the hotel’s own pages, one thing at a time.

  1. Location

The beach, souk and waterways are your neighbourhood; Downtown means a car journey.

  2. Character

Sand-coloured façades, arches and wooden balconies above the water.

  3. Rooms

Rooms start at 45–46 m²; families can book 2 connecting bedrooms, while suites add larger living spaces.

  4. Food and social life

Hanaaya’s buffet, Greek cooking at Shimmers by the beach and Italian food at Cala Vista.

  5. Wellness

Temperature-controlled pools, J Club’s indoor pool and Talise within the resort.

  6. The stay as a whole

Club access is most useful when you stay for breakfast, afternoon tea and sundowners.

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do Jumeirah Mina Al Salam’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

Nearly every guest who mentions it is happy with it. Guests remember the beach and Madinat Jumeirah waterways as part of the holiday, with walks to the souk.

  2. Room

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Room space, balconies and sea views recur in the reviews.

  3. Staff and service

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests describe thoughtful service on the beach, at breakfast and towards children.

  4. Breakfast

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests describe a varied Hanaaya buffet with international and Arabic food; accounts of the service differ.

  5. Price

5 in 10 guests who mention the price find it fair. Guests weigh the beach, pools and service against the room price; restaurant meals add to the bill.

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 24 April 2024 to 29 September 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Dubai: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 14 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against in Dubai:

Price: for two on the night of 21 June 2027, from AED 1,184 (seen on Google Hotels on 14 October 2026).

What a night costs, season by season

The June-to-September part of the calendar contains the lowest prices, while February to early May shows single nights from AED 2,971 to AED 5,777. I would compare a whole stay before choosing dates: the calendar prices each night separately.

8 Nov 2026–29 Jan 20272,298–5,335

Lowest seller price on Google Hotels for one night searched alone for 2 adults, read 14 October 2026; room, meals and tax inclusion are unspecified. The calendar stops at 8 September 2027; its lone low on 21 July is AED 1,181. Some nights have no price. Booked as 7 nights from 16 November 2026, the lowest seller Google listed that day asked AED 2,461 a night; the hotel’s own listing, AED 2,694.

Mina Al Salam and Al Naseem
