Our verdict

The island from above: the pools, the beach and the marina

Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab opened in March 2025 on a man-made island between Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the Burj Al Arab, joined to the Umm Suqeim shore. It has 300 rooms and 86 suites, by the hotel’s own FAQ, plus 82 residences in a separate building. On The World’s 50 Best Hotels list it was 20th in 2025 and is 15th in 2026.

Rooms start at 67 m², terrace included, and rise to the 1,071 m² Pearl Suite. The Ocean side looks over the Gulf and the Burj Al Arab; the Marina and Promenade sides over the private marina and the towers. Suites include breakfast, a butler and Iliana Pool Club, the pool kept for suite guests. The Talise spa fills 3 floors, one of them for women only, with a 20-metre indoor pool for guests aged 16 and over.

There are 11 restaurants and 4 bars, plus the marina’s venues: Greek at Iliana on the beach, Italian at Rialto, French at Mirabelle, Indian at The Bombay Club, Japanese at Umi Kei and Kira, steak at The Cullinan, and Pierre Hermé’s pastries. On 4 October 2026 Kinugawa was temporarily closed and 1206, on the fourth floor, was due to open on 30 October.

On Google it scores 4.3 out of 5 from 1,335 reviews, 4.8 on Tripadvisor and 9.1 on Booking.com. Of the 511 Google reviews of the last 12 months, 431 give 5 stars: guests thank butlers and lifeguards by name and write about the breakfast, the beach and the sail in front of the terrace. The reviews also describe waits at check-in and queues at the island’s entrance gate, where there is a security check; the Burj Al Arab next door is a building site, closed for restoration from April 2026 to October 2027.

What makes it rare

A badge is an experience travellers look for, that is really here and that few hotels in the guide have.

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 7 July 2025 to 4 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Dubai: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 4 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

  • Atlantis The Royal
  • One&Only The Palm
  • Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach
