  1. The villa to ask for

I would ask for the Water Villa With Pool: from 81 m² inside and 120 m² outside, with an ocean view, a private infinity pool, netted hammocks on a tiered deck and direct water access.

  2. The weeks that cost less

In the calendar read on 12 October 2026 the lowest week runs from 11 to 17 May 2027: 7 nights at $2,667. From 11 January to 9 May 2027 nights run from $3,906 to $4,435; 24 December 2026 to 5 January 2027 shows no price.

  3. On top of the rate

The rate carries a 10% service charge, a 17% GST on rate and service combined, and a $12 green tax per person per night from age 2. The shared boat is $1,260 per adult return, according to Booking.com.

  4. Rabarbaro after dark

By night the Italian Rabarbaro turns into Rah Bar, with live music and signature cocktails until 1am; dress is casual by day, with shoes worn in the bar, and resort chic at night.

What Reethi Rah is

Reethi Rah stands on one of the largest islands in North Malé Atoll, 45 minutes by boat from the capital (official site): 44 hectares, 12 beaches to reach by bicycle and 6 km of coastline (official site, diving). In 2026 it holds 5 Forbes stars for the hotel and for the spa, and EarthCheck Platinum certification (official site).

The villas come in 9 types, from the 185 m² Water Villa, 81 inside and 104 outside, to the 1,193 m² Grand Sunset Residence (villas, Water Villa, Grand Sunset Residence). Beach villas open onto their own stretch of sand, water villas have steps into the lagoon, and a host looks after each villa (Beach Villa).

TAPASAKE serves Japanese cooking with Mediterranean influences, Botanica cooks outdoors in a garden, Reethi serves breakfast and dinner on its over-water veranda, and Rabarbaro does Italian food by the pool (dining). The spa has a vitality pool, crystal steam rooms and saunas (spa); there are 3 pools, among them a 37-metre adults-only lap pool (water activities).

On Google it has 4.7 out of 5 from 381 reviews (Google). The island is largely reclaimed and has no natural house reef: the nearest reef lies about 100 metres off the Beach Club (The Luxury Travel Expert). From the second half of April to early December 2026 the west side, beyond the bridge, is closed for works (À la carte).

What makes it rare

A badge is an experience travellers look for, that is really here and that few hotels in the guide have.

What the badges are

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do Reethi Rah’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write of a big, green island with beaches to cycle between, and of the boat from the airport: 45 minutes, with no seaplane.

  2. Room

7 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests write of large villas, on their own beach or with a pool, and of what they find inside: sunscreen, a hat, a beach bag and a well-stocked minibar.

The scores come from 195 Google reviews with text, left from 19 July 2013 to 29 September 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in the Maldives: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 5 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against in the Maldives:

Price: for two on the night of 11 May 2027, from $2,667 (seen on Google Hotels on 12 October 2026).

What a night costs, season by season

On 12 October 2026 Google showed single nights for 2 adults from $2,667 to $3,084 between 10 May and 5 September 2027, against $3,906 to $4,435 from 11 January to 9 May 2027 and $3,090 to $3,502 until 9 December 2026. I would look at mid-May 2027; for 16 November 2026, the reading of 4 October showed the hotel’s own site at $3,640 and the lowest seller at $3,304.
