Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru, in the Maldives’ Baa Atoll: 103 villas on an island of 18 hectares, an Ayurvedic spa and biologists who follow the manta rays.
A week here, month by monthLandaa suits families wanting a kids’ club and beach or water villas: from $2,212 for one night for 2 adults, the lowest any seller showed on Google. For a short stopover, I would choose an island reached without a seaplane.
Official siteDoes it suit you?
5 pairs of hotels, and the guide tells you whether this one suits you.
For privacy over the water, I would ask for the Water Villa with Pool – Partial Sea View: its 12-metre lap pool, daybed, swing couch and overwater nets are screened, with only a partial sea view.
On Google’s 12 October 2026 reading, 2–8 August 2027 runs from $2,218 to $2,231 per night for 2 adults. The highest single night shown is 25 December 2026 at $6,704.
From 11 January to 20 December 2027, Trans Maldivian seaplane transfers cost $480 per adult each way, with 28.7% service charge and GST added; this is paid on top of the villa.
Pack with the seaplane allowance in mind: 20 kg checked and 5 kg carry-on per person are included. Depending on the aircraft load, your luggage may travel on a separate flight.
The resort opened in November 2006 (fact sheet) on an island in Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and has 103 beach and water villas and suites (EarthCheck certificate 2026). The island clock runs an hour ahead of Malé (getting here); the MICHELIN Guide gives it one Key (MICHELIN Guide).
Villas run from the 168 m² Premier Oceanfront Bungalow to the 2,800 m² Four-Bedroom Landaa Estate, with its own pool and 80 metres of private beach (accommodation). Over the water the Water Villas with Pool measure 273 m², on the beach the Beach Villas with Pool 397 m² inside and out (Water Villa, Beach Villa).

Every hotel with this badgeWhat do Landaa Giraavaru’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.
Nearly every guest who mentions it is happy with it. Guests write about the clear lagoon, the white sand, the island’s greenery and Baa Atoll.

The scores come from 201 Google reviews with text, left from 27 October 2011 to 26 September 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Baa Atoll: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 5 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

From the resort’s Google listing, January to September 2026: a Beach Villa, divers, a full island that feels empty, an August stay and a boat.
The beach villa was large, with a spacious bathroom and 2 showers; the first breakfast disappointed, but once they said so the staff met every request.
A couple of certified divers chose Landaa to combine luxury with a first-rate PADI centre: service and villa were superb.
In July the sea was 29–30 degrees and the resort fully booked, yet it felt like only a few people on the island; the dive centre offers scuba, freediving and even mermaiding.
Everything was outstanding, one guest writes, except the sandflies, which they had never met and did not at first recognise.
4 stars: everything good for a 5-star, but the private boat’s crew chatted on their phones, and only the captain worked at the mantas.
