Both bars open
New York Bar opens its doors on the 52nd floor and the Peak Lounge turns into the Peak Bar. Before 6.30pm no cover is charged upstairs.
The Park Hyatt Tokyo bar most people mean is New York Bar, on the 52nd floor of Shinjuku Park Tower: open daily from 5pm to midnight, with jazz from 6.30pm, the minute a cover charge of ¥3,300 a head begins. It takes no reservations and lets in nobody under 20.

Tokyo at night from the 52nd floor, with a jazz band between you and the window.
PricesNo table can be booked, the cover starts at 6.30pm, and shorts, beach sandals and sleeveless tops stay outside.
Other hotel barsThe hotel reopened on 9 December 2025 after its restoration; the hours, prices and rules below were read on the bars’ own pages and menus on 11 October 2026.
New York Bar shares the top floor with New York Grill. The band plays with the city behind it, and on the walls are murals by the Italian painter Valerio Adami, inspired by Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall. The evening is printed like a programme: an instrumental half-hour at 6.30pm, then 4 sets, at 7.15pm, 8.30pm, 9.45pm and 11pm, the last ending at 11.45pm. The cover is charged from the first note.
The drinks list keeps one price for cocktails, ¥2,640, whether a classic or one of the 5 house creations; the 4 zero-proof cocktails are ¥2,200. 2 of those, Radio City and Carnegie Hall, share their names with the murals’ subjects. A third, L.I.T., is made with Japanese sake, sakura and peach liqueurs, cranberry and lime: Hyatt’s offers page says it was inspired by «Lost in Translation» and the scenes the film set in this room. The bar’s page calls its bourbon and whisky selection one of the most extensive in Tokyo; the list runs to whisky flights and to a private cask of Kuju under the hotel’s name.
You can eat properly at the bar. The snack menu goes from marinated olives at ¥1,650 to a smoked chicken quesadilla at ¥3,520, a truffle pizza at ¥4,400 and the New York Bar Wagyu burger at ¥4,620. The cheesecake, ¥1,980, has been on the list since the bar opened, its page says, and dishes from the Grill’s kitchen can be ordered through the evening. Food stops at 11pm.
The Peak Bar is on the 41st floor, the evening half of the Peak Lounge: a marble counter in the glass atrium, beside the bamboo grove where afternoon tea is served until 5pm. Its music is acoustic, a duo from Thursday to Saturday and a soloist from Sunday to Wednesday, in four 45-minute sets between 6pm and 9.45pm. Its page gives the dress code in one word, casual, though the hotel’s questions page rules out sportswear and sleeveless tops there too. It mentions no cover.
Its menu is the more Japanese of the 2. A set of cocktails called «Six Prefectures, One Skyline» costs ¥2,640 each; an Old Fashioned, at ¥3,960, is built on the Japanese whisky you choose, Yoichi, Miyagikyo, Hinomaru, Hakushu or peated Kanosuke. Hakushu 12 and Yamazaki 12 are listed at ¥8,250 and the hotel’s private cask at ¥7,700. To eat there are chicken karaage at ¥2,530, a pork katsu sando at ¥3,300 and truffle fries at ¥2,200.
Guests who write about New York Bar mostly write about the view and the band. A couple who were not staying went up as it opened in May 2026, were seated at once, and meant to leave before the cover began; the jazz kept them. A guest in April 2026 celebrated the 33rd anniversary of an engagement with cocktails at the bar: «Excellent drinks», «ok jazz». One in March 2026 found the bar «somewhat skippable», with a similar view from the lobby. A visitor on a stopover wrote in March 2026 that they were told the bar was reserved for hotel guests and left without a drink; the review does not say which bar or at what hour, and neither bar’s page states such a rule.
