The Fullerton Hotel Singapore suits those who want to sleep in a monument: from November 2026 it starts at S$356 for 2 adults, the lowest seller’s price on Google for one night taken alone. Courtyard rooms have no street window, so ask for another view if daylight matters.

A Loft Suite’s verandah at night: armchairs and a plate of fruit between Doric columns, Marina Bay Sands lit across the water
  1. The room to request

I would ask for a Heritage Room: 38–45 m², the category tied to the building’s years as post office and government offices. 3 returning guests, writing between April 2024 and August 2025, found one huge, quiet or lovely.

  2. The week that costs less

Consider 6–12 December 2026: nights taken alone, for 2 adults, ran from S$363 to S$372 on Google, read 13 October 2026. Booked as 7 nights from 16 November 2026, the only seller Google priced asked S$1,167 a night.

  3. Parking and the bill

Parking costs S$1.30 per 10 minutes on weekdays from 7.01am to 6pm and S$6.90 per entry at weekends, GST included. A single bill of S$100 at The Courtyard or Jade makes it free.

  4. Bags checked in at the hotel

On Singapore Airlines flights between 5pm and 7am, bags can be checked in at the hotel from 7am to 11am, a day earlier for flights between midnight and 7am. Flights to the United States are excluded.

What The Fullerton Hotel Singapore is

Work on the Fullerton Building began in February 1924 and it opened on 27 June 1928 as the General Post Office, with the Exchange, the Chamber of Commerce and the Singapore Club under the same roof. The post office left in March 1996. The hotel opened on 1 January 2001, after a restoration that The Age puts at S$400 million, and the building was gazetted as Singapore’s 71st national monument on 7 December 2015.

The ground floor still reads as a public building. The Courtyard fills the atrium, with afternoon tea in 2 seatings and a harp from Thursday to Sunday; Town Restaurant runs its buffets on a terrace by the river; Jade seats 120 among the original Doric columns. The 3 have a page of their own. The Lighthouse, on the roof where a beacon once guided ships into port, now takes events only, and the hotel’s site lists no bar.

Upstairs there are 16 types of room in 400 keys. The hotel says on every room page that rooms of one category are «uniquely configured», because the building is a monument: 7 types are sold as a range of sizes, and courtyard rooms look into the atrium. The 8 Loft Suites are on 2 levels, with French doors onto a verandah between columns 20 feet high.

The platforms give it 4.6 out of 5 on Google from 9,306 reviews, 4.7 on Tripadvisor from 11,434, 9.2 out of 10 on Booking.com from 4,199 and 9.4 on Expedia from 1,417; The Times gave 9 out of 10 in April 2024. It holds no MICHELIN Key: the guide lists it, and the 2026 Key went to its sister, The Fullerton Bay Hotel, 505 m away.

In the Lumina Guide

Lumina Guide 2027

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore stands at 1 Fullerton Square, where the Singapore River runs into Marina Bay: it is the city’s General Post Office of 1928, a national monument since 2015 and a hotel of 400 rooms since 2001.

How we choose the hotels

Those who come back

Among the Fullerton’s regulars, 5 write of the staff and the service. One, after a wedge-shaped room the year before, asked for a squarish one and was recommended a Courtyard Heritage Room on level 2. Another says every room tried so far has had its own architecture and view. A guest who wrote in January 2026, back after a stay during the pandemic, found kid-friendly touches ready for the children.

Our reading, point by point

What we found reading the hotel’s own pages, one thing at a time.

At the mouth of the Singapore River: the Merlion 5 minutes on foot, the National Gallery 8, the Esplanade 10, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands 21 to 29.

  2. Character

The General Post Office of 1928, a national monument: a roofed atrium, Doric columns on the fronts and a red pillar box in the Heritage Gallery.

  3. Rooms

16 types from 36 to 280 m², each with a separate bath and shower; the window faces the atrium, the river, the pool, the city or the bay, by category.

  4. Food and social life

Town’s buffets by the river, afternoon tea in the atrium and Jade’s Chinese kitchen; the roof’s Lighthouse takes events only and the official site lists no bar.

  5. Wellness

A 25 m outdoor pool open from 7am to 10pm, an ESPA spa with sauna and steam room, a gym open 24 hours.

The 5 things that matter, as guests tell them

What do The Fullerton Hotel’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.

  1. Location

9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. The Merlion, Boat Quay and Marina Bay are a walk from the door and Raffles Place MRT is round the corner; guests with a balcony write of fireworks over the bay.

  2. Room

7 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Guests like the space, the beds and the balconies over the river or the bay, and a filtered water tap in place of bottles; those less pleased write of carpets, bathrooms and furniture that show their years, or of a courtyard room without daylight.

  3. Staff and service

7 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Staff at the desk, at breakfast and in the club are thanked by name, and rooms given early and birthday cakes are remembered; others write of waits at check-in, slow answers and club benefits nobody explained.

  4. Breakfast

8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Town’s buffet is praised for its range, from Japanese dishes and Indian curries to eggs cooked to order; when the hotel is full, guests find the room crowded.

  5. Price

Guests who find the price fair name the position, the breakfast and the building itself; those who find it high set the age of the rooms and the service beside a rate of S$400 to S$600 a night.

The scores come from 500 Google reviews with text, left from 17 December 2024 to 4 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Singapore: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 12 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.

The hotels we weigh it against in Singapore:

Good to know before you book

  • Courtyard rooms look into the roofed atrium and have no window on the street. The Premier Courtyard and Straits Club Courtyard rooms are «Atrium view» in the hotel’s own index and Heritage rooms «City / Atrium»; a guest of April 2025 wrote of seeing no daylight in a courtyard room.

  • A rate quoted before charges grows by 19.9%: a 10% service charge, then 9% GST on both. The 2 figures are printed by the hotel’s offer pages and by Booking.com; prices marked «++» in the restaurants and the spa follow the same rule, and the hotel publishes no resort fee.

  • Parking is charged by the hour on the hotel’s own page: S$1.30 per 10 minutes on weekdays from 7.01am to 6pm, S$6.90 per entry at weekends. Expedia lists «Free self parking, plus valet parking»; the official FAQ prints no valet and gives free parking to diners who spend S$100 on one bill.

  • The official site counts 3 places to eat and no bar. The Lighthouse on the roof «now operates exclusively as an event venue» and Tripadvisor marks the Post Bar closed, while Booking.com and the MICHELIN Guide still list it; Booking.com’s own FAQ counts 1 restaurant, Expedia 2 and The Times, in April 2024, 4.

  • The Straits Club lounge is under «upgrading works … until further notice», its page said on 12 October 2026, without saying what they touch. The pickleball court at One Fullerton is closed for refurbishment until the fourth quarter of 2026.

  • Rooms of one category differ from each other, the hotel warns on every room page: the photograph may not be the room received and bed sizes vary. 7 types are sold as a range of sizes, the Straits Club Heritage Room from 37 to 71 m².

  • 30 of the 1,231 Google reviews with text since November 2022 call the rooms dated, tired or worn, 5 of them in the last 12 months. In January 2026 a guest mentions the carpet, in December 2025 another the bathrooms.

  • The hotel holds no MICHELIN Key. The 2026 Key in the family is The Fullerton Bay Hotel’s; the «19.0» out of 20 on this hotel’s MICHELIN page stands under the words «No verified stays yet».

  • The same Mercedes E-Class to the airport has 2 official prices, one way. The hotel’s transfer form says S$180 and its transportation price list S$260 nett.

  • How many rooms there are depends on who counts them: 400 on the hotel’s home page and in the MICHELIN Guide, 408 for Condé Nast Traveler, 399 for Expedia.

Questions before you go

How much does a night at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore cost?

Google Hotels, on 12 October 2026, for 2 adults and one night, with the 10% service charge and 9% GST inside the amount, showed S$453 on 31 October, S$362 on 22 November and on 1 December 2026, S$393 on 21 January 2027, S$392 on 7 March and S$413 on 18 June. The dearest nights read were S$1,771 on 3 November 2026, S$1,014 on 30 December, S$769 on 1 January 2027 and S$827 on 9 August 2027; 31 December showed no price.

The calendar gives the day’s cheapest seller, names no room and does not say whether breakfast is in. For 13 October it showed S$654 while the hotel’s own link carried S$759.57, S$126.06 of it tax and service, for a Straits Club Courtyard Room. The Age, in May 2026, gave S$610 a night as the starting price of a courtyard room.

What is added to a room rate at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore?

2 charges: a 10% service charge, then 9% GST on the rate and the service charge together, which makes 19.9% on a rate quoted before them (our arithmetic). The hotel’s offer pages say rates are «subject to 10 percent service charge and prevailing government taxes» and Booking.com’s fine print names the 2 figures. A seller’s total may already hold both, as Google Hotels’ amounts do. The hotel publishes no resort fee or other tax; the car park’s rates include GST.

Is there parking at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, and what does it cost?

Yes: a basement car park of 359 lots, open 24 hours. The official FAQ, read on 12 October 2026, charges from Monday to Friday S$1.30 per 10 minutes from 7.01am to 6pm, S$6.90 per entry from 6.01pm to 8pm, S$1.30 per 10 minutes from 8.01pm to midnight and S$8 per entry from 12.01am to 7am; on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays S$6.90 per entry from 7.01am to midnight and S$8 overnight. GST is included, payment is by cash card at the exit and there is no grace period. An hour on a weekday morning comes to S$7.80.

Diners park free with S$100 spent on a single bill, and there are chargers for electric cars, subject to availability. What a staying guest pays is not printed by the hotel: a guest of December 2025 wrote of a complimentary car park coupon. Expedia’s «Free self parking, plus valet parking (surcharge)» matches neither the hourly table nor the FAQ, which prints no valet.

How many restaurants does The Fullerton Hotel Singapore have?

3, by the hotel’s own FAQ: Town Restaurant by the river, The Courtyard in the atrium and Jade, the Chinese restaurant of 120 seats. The roof’s Lighthouse «now operates exclusively as an event venue». Other counts are older or partial: 1 in Booking.com’s FAQ, 2 on Expedia, 4 in The Times of April 2024. Hours, prices and which to choose are on the restaurants’ page.

Is there a bar at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore? Is the Post Bar open?

The official site lists no bar on 12 October 2026. Tripadvisor marks the Post Bar «CLOSED» and the bar’s own page on the hotel’s site answers with an error, while Booking.com and the MICHELIN Guide still list it; the date it closed was not found. The Lighthouse on the roof takes events only. The Courtyard, which has a drinks list of its own, stays open until 9pm, and the pool serves drinks from 10.30am to 7pm; Straits Club guests have cocktails in the lounge from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Is breakfast included, and what does it cost?

Only with selected rates. It is a buffet at Town Restaurant, daily from 6.30am to 10.30am: S$45 per adult and S$22.50 per child of 6 to 11 before the 10% service charge and 9% GST, about S$54 and S$27 with them. Straits Club rooms have a champagne breakfast in the lounge at the same hours. Expedia says children of 5 and under eat free. A press review of May 2026 called the buffet excellent and counted 9 Indian dishes.

Does The Fullerton Hotel Singapore serve afternoon tea or high tea?

Yes, at The Courtyard, in the atrium: daily in 2 seatings, noon to 2.30pm and 3.30pm to 6pm. From 15 August to 15 November 2026 it is the Antonio Bachour Afternoon Tea, at S$75 per adult and S$45 per child of 6 to 11 before charges, about S$90 and S$54 with them. Can you hold a wedding at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, and for how many guests?

Yes. The hotel counts 9 event rooms. The largest, the column-free Ballroom, measures 699 m² and takes 600 guests standing or in theatre rows and 480 at a banquet; The Straits Room goes up to 252 m²; The Lighthouse, on the roof, is now an event venue only; Jade takes wedding lunches and dinners and has a solemnisation package. The Straits Club Marina Bay View Room’s list names none. Among the suites, the Loft, Governor and Presidential open onto verandahs between the façade’s columns, the Presidential’s enclosed in glass, and the Fullerton Suite has a terrace. Where is The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, and is the area quiet?

The hotel gives Raffles Place MRT, Exit H, as a 3-minute walk; Expedia says 4 minutes and Booking.com 5.
