How 4 people sleep at a luxury hotel in Paris or London

For 4 people in Paris I would book The Peninsula if your children are under 12, from €2,775 for 2 rooms. In London, Rosewood’s Family Room has 2 double beds: £780 a night with tax for 15 to 18 February 2027.

Chosen your hotel? Everything you need to go

8 hotels for 4, in Paris and London

Paris first, then London, each with the room that takes 4, its age limits, any second-room offer and a night’s price.

Premier Room with a double bed and a table beside the window

The Peninsula Paris

For parents of 2 children under 12 who want a door between the rooms, and it is the one I would book in Paris: €2,775 sits below the €3,250 and €3,500 published for 4 at Plaza Athénée and Shangri-La, and this offer has no end date.

The trade-off

The offer stops at children under 12 and you book it by email or telephone. If 2 small children can share a sofa bed, price Shangri-La’s Junior Suite first: I have no rate for it.

Why choose it

Family Moments1 takes 50% off the connecting room for children under 12, 2 children at most per room, and adds American breakfast for the family and the pool. It starts at €2,775 for the 2 rooms. The terms quote rates by the night, but ask them to confirm it, and what VAT and service add. City tax comes on top, and blackout dates may apply. 5 pairs qualify: 2 Premier Rooms, 2 Junior Suites, a Superior Suite with a Deluxe Room, a Deluxe Suite with a Premier Room, a Grand Premier Suite with a Deluxe Room. Outside the offer, Booking.com2 lists free cots to age 2, free extra beds from 3 to 11 and €110 a night from 12. A night for 2 costs $1,9043.

A sitting area with a pale sofa and armchairs, glass coffee table and lamps

Hôtel Plaza Athénée

For families travelling before New Year who want the price on one page, with only city tax of €15.93 per person per night to add, and a door they can count on: the offer guarantees interconnecting rooms.

The trade-off

Family Time ends on 31 December 2026, and its page gives 2 age limits, so have your children’s ages accepted before you pay.

Why choose it

Family Time4 gives the price per night for both rooms, second room at 50%, tax, service and American breakfast included, city tax on top: 2 connecting Deluxe Rooms from €3,250, a 2-bedroom Deluxe Junior Suite from €4,600, a 2-bedroom Superior Suite from €5,100. In a suite the second bedroom is an interconnecting room. The offer names 2 children under 12 at the top and 2 aged 18 and under in its terms, so ask, and it warns of blackout days. Outside the offer, an extra bed5 is free under 13 and €105 from 13, a cot is free for younger children, and each room’s guest limit still applies. In February, after the offer ends, a night for 2 costs $2,0826.

The Connecting Family Junior Suite at Shangri-La Paris

Shangri-La Paris

For parents of 2 children under 12 happy to share a one-bedroom suite, or families with teenagers who want 2 bedrooms on 1 booking.

The trade-off

Family Retreat ends on 31 December 2026 and covers only the 2 family suites, up to 60% off the connecting room. I have no rate for the Junior Suite alone.

Why choose it

The Junior Suite8, 55 m², has a king-size bed and a sofa bed for 2 children under 12 or 1 adult, with a separate living room. The Junior Suite Paris View, Deluxe Suite, Duplex Eiffel View Suite and La Suite Gustave Eiffel take the same 4. For 2 bedrooms, the Connecting Family Junior Suite7 measures 99 m²: a Junior Suite joined to a Deluxe Room, with a king-size bed, 2 twin beds and a bathroom each. It sleeps 4, with the option of 6, and its page sets no age limit. The Connecting Family Eiffel View Suite10, 97 m², does the same with the tower in the windows. Family Retreat9, 12 January to 31 December 202611, covers these 2 suites at up to 60% off the connecting room and starts at €3,500 on average per night, with breakfast, VAT, visitor tax and service included. For Shangri-La Circle members, up to 2 children under 7 eat buffet meals free with a paying adult, and from 7 to 11 they pay half. A night for 2 costs $1,82512.

A bedroom with a bed, purple seating and a desk

La Réserve Paris

For parents with grown children who want 2 king-size bedrooms and a lounge on avenue Gabriel.

The trade-off

I have no price for the 2 suites that take 4, and its week for 2 is already the dearest of these 8.

Why choose it

In this Atout France palace13, 11 of the 13 categories14 sleep 2, and 6 of those take a third on an extra bed. Only the Elysée Suite15, 170 m², and the Grand Palais Suite16, 220 m², sleep 4, each with 2 bedrooms and 2 king-size beds, and the Grand Palais page describes 1 marble bathroom, so ask how many you get. Otherwise you book connecting rooms17: a Prestige Room and a Premier Room for up to 4 in 85 m², a Prestige Junior Suite and a Premier Room for up to 5 in 95 m². They join by an interior door or a shared hallway, so ask which you are getting. Booking.com18 lists free cots to age 2 and extra beds at €200 per person per night from 3. I know of no family offer here. A night for 2 costs $2,49919.

A Family Room: 2 white double beds side by side, an armchair and a window with open curtains

Rosewood London

For 4 people happy to share a room, and it is the one I would book in London: 2 double beds, and children up to 16 sleep free.

The trade-off

There is no pool in the building, and 4 people share 36 m² and 1 bathroom, so a long stay may call for the second room.

Why choose it

The Family Room20 measures 36 m², has 2 double beds and takes up to 4. Children of 16 and under stay free in the existing beds, and a rollaway or a crib can be added. The hotel’s booking page21 asked £780 a night on average, taxes and fees included, for 15 to 18 February 2027, for 2 adults and children of 8 and 11, on its lowest rate, Advance Purchase, with no word on a service charge, so read the terms. If you want 2 rooms, Family Moments22 takes 50% off the second bedroom in a Family Room, with breakfast and check-out at 2pm, so ask which first room the offer needs. It is valid year-round for children up to 16, though blackout dates may apply, connecting rooms depend on availability, and it adds a 5% discretionary service charge. The spa23 has no pool. A night for 2 costs $65724.

A Family Room: 2 queen beds side by side and a children’s tepee by the window

The Langham, London

For families of 5, or 4 who want a pool: this room takes 2 adults and 3 children.

The trade-off

With 2 teenagers, ask: the hotel’s family offer28 stops at under 16.

Why choose it

The Family Room25 measures 39 m², with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. For 2 adults and 2 children in 1 room, the hotel’s booking page26 offered this room alone: from £873 for 15 to 18 February 2027, taxes and fees included, £829 for members. That has to be a night: 3 nights at that total would fall below the hotel’s cheapest rate. Ask about a service charge. Family Celebrations28 applies to Classic, Superior and Deluxe Rooms, which leaves this room out: 50% off a second room and breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children under 16, to 31 May 2027, with blackout dates and a 5% discretionary service charge. Families share the pool27 from 8am to noon and from 4pm to 6pm. A night for 2 costs $55929.

Two Bedroom Family Room: the king bedroom with a large wardrobe

The Savoy

For 4 or 5 who want 2 bedrooms on 1 booking without going up to a suite, and free breakfast for children up to 12.

The trade-off

The 51 m² face the courtyard, and I have no price for this room, so ask before you compare it with Rosewood.

Why choose it

The Two Bedroom Family Room30 measures 51 m²: a king bedroom and a second room with 2 double beds, for up to 5. The Luxury Double Double31, 39 m², puts 2 double beds in 1 room, a rarity in central London by the hotel’s account; its page gives no guest count, so ask, and ask there for connecting rooms too. Neither page sets an age limit. Among the offers32 I see no family rate. In the FAQ33 children up to 12 can have breakfast free in Gallery, and children’s pool times run from 9am to 5pm. A night for 2 costs $92834.

Contemporary living room with cream leather sofas, a dark marble fireplace with mirrored panels above, and a glass coffee table with a floral arrangement, softly lit by natural light through sheer curtains.

Claridge’s

For parents who want a suite to themselves and the children next door or nearby at no charge, from January.

The trade-off

The second room is free only beside a one-bedroom suite, which sets the whole bill, and no stay counts until 1 January 2027.

Why choose it

A Family Story35 gives a free room, connecting or close by, for children up to 16 when the adults book a one-bedroom suite, for 2 to 5 nights, with breakfast for the family. It runs to 30 April 2028, and 16 October to 31 December 2026 is blacked out. The connection depends on availability. The terms also say the offer applies to 2 rooms of the same category, so ask what the children’s room will be. Rates include VAT and add a 5% discretionary service charge. I have no suite price for a date the offer covers. A night for 2 costs $1,58636.

A price for 4 is the hotel’s own, and each line says what it covers. The night for 2 compares hotels: 7 nights from 15 February 2027, with taxes, and a room for 4 costs more. Prices from Google Hotels, 13 and 15 October 2026.

What decides where 4 people sleep

The hotel’s name decides less than these 4 things.

  • The beds. A single room for 4 is rare at this level. Rosewood20 sells one with 2 double beds, the Langham25 one with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed, and Shangri-La8 a one-bedroom suite whose sofa bed takes 2 children under 12. At La Réserve14 11 categories of 13 sleep 2, and 6 of those take a third on an extra bed.

  • The word suite. A suite with 2 bedrooms is often 2 units sold as 1. Shangri-La7 joins a Junior Suite to a Deluxe Room, and at Plaza Athénée4 the second bedroom is an interconnecting room. That is fine, and it is why you should ask where the doors are.

  • The children’s ages. The offers stop at under 12 at The Peninsula1 and at 12 at Le Bristol38, at under 16 at the Langham28, at 16 at Rosewood22 and Claridge’s35, and at under 18 or 18 and under at The Dorchester40, so ask there. With a teenager, read this line before the price.

  • The calendar. Plaza Athénée4, The Dorchester40 and Shangri-La11 end their offers on 31 December 2026. Claridge’s35 and The Connaught37 block every date until then and run to 30 April 2028, and the Langham28 runs to 31 May 2027.

4 more second-room offers, and what to send the hotel

Offers worth a call at 4 hotels I left off the list.

The Dorchester40’s offer runs until 31 December 2026: 2 connecting rooms from £1,320 a night for both, with VAT, plus a 5% discretionary service charge, or a free second room with a suite, with English breakfast, for 2 adults and 2 children, under 18 at the top of the page and 18 and under in its terms. It applies to Superior and Deluxe rooms, Park Suites and Dorchester Suites, and blackout days may apply. The Connaught37 gives the same free room as Claridge’s, with the same dates and the same blackout.

In Paris, Le Bristol38 takes up to 50% off a connecting room for 2 adults and 2 children up to 12, from 2 nights. It starts from €3,500, so ask whether that is a night or the stay, and what VAT and service add. City tax of €15.93 per adult per night comes on top. The George V39 takes 30% off a second room on selected dates from 31 October 2026 to 31 December 2029, for 1 to 9 nights, with breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children. You book it by telephone.

Whichever you choose, send the children’s ages with the first request, ask for the connecting door in writing and compare 2 totals for the same dates. Rosewood’s booking page21 wants their ages before it gives an accurate price, and so should you.

Questions before you book for 4

One room or 2, ages, prices and Christmas.

Can 4 people stay in one room at a luxury hotel?

Yes, at some. In London the Rosewood Family Room20 takes up to 4 in 2 double beds, and the Langham Family Room25 2 adults and 3 children. At Shangri-La8, 2 children under 12 can share a sofa bed in a one-bedroom suite; at the other 3 Paris hotels here, count on 2 rooms or a suite with 2 bedrooms.

When do I have to buy a second room?

When the room’s guest limit stops below 4, and an extra bed will not always save you. At La Réserve14 11 categories of 13 sleep 2, and 6 of those take a third on an extra bed. At Rosewood20 children stay free only in the existing beds, which is why 2 double beds matter.

At La Réserve, which rooms take 4?

Among its 13 categories, only the Elysée Suite15 and the Grand Palais Suite16 sleep 4. A connecting pair17 of a Prestige Room and a Premier Room also takes 4, in 85 m².

How much does a night for 4 cost?

In 1 room for 15 to 18 February 2027, £780 on average with taxes at Rosewood21 and from £873 a night with taxes at the Langham26. For 2 connecting rooms, from £1,320 a night with VAT, plus 5% discretionary service, at The Dorchester40 and from €3,250 a night with tax and service, plus city tax, at Plaza Athénée4, both until 31 December 2026, and from €2,775 at The Peninsula1, plus city tax; ask it to confirm that is a night. From €3,500 on average per night at Shangri-La9 for a family suite, tax included, until 31 December 2026.

Is a second room really half price?

Sometimes. It is 50% at The Peninsula1, Plaza Athénée4, Rosewood22 and the Langham28, up to 60% at Shangri-La9, up to 50% at Le Bristol38, 30% at the George V39, and free with a one-bedroom suite at Claridge’s35. At Rosewood the 50% applies to the second bedroom in a Family Room.

What is the difference between connecting and close by?

Connecting rooms share a door. La Réserve17 also counts a shared hallway, and Claridge’s35 promises a room connecting or close by, subject to availability. With small children, get the door in writing.

Do these offers work at Christmas?

Not at Claridge’s35 or The Connaught37, which block 16 October to 31 December 2026. Plaza Athénée4 and The Dorchester40 run to 31 December but warn of blackout days, and The Peninsula1 and Rosewood22 warn of blackout dates too, so ask for your dates first.
