Among the best hotels in Zermatt, I’d first decide how I want to get back in the evening: Riffelalp means taking the Gornergrat Railway. For several trips out and back to your room each day, I’d start with Zermatterhof and Mont Cervin Palace.

| Hotel | Suits | The trip | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Omnia | Couples choosing the room for its view | The Matterhorn Suite, with its Matterhorn-facing balcony | The Design Double has a bath or a shower: specify which you want |
| CERVO Mountain Resort | Leaving an afternoon for the spa | The outdoor onsen and Finnish sauna | For both a bath and a shower, I’d look at the Alpinist M |
| Grand Hotel Zermatterhof | Making time for a cheese supper | Fondue and raclette at saycheese! | The hotel is seasonal: choose your dates alongside its availability |
| Mont Cervin Palace | Parents who want a playroom at the hotel | Mini Cervin, the playroom furnished by My Little Room | The outdoor pool and lawn are for the summer months |
| Riffelalp Resort 2’222m | Skiers who want to go out with a guide | Skiing with the hotel’s guide, 4 days a week in winter | Children can swim, but the wellness area is for adults |

At CERVO, I would choose the house first: Alpinist and Huntsman are 5-star; Nomad is 4-star.

At Zermatterhof, choose a Matterhorn-facing balcony and keep the afternoon for Vita Borni: the spa reopened in December 2025, with an indoor pool and 2 whirlpools. The village is just outside, on Bahnhofstrasse.

At Mont Cervin Palace, I would swim beneath the little pool bridge, facing the broad windows.

At Riffelalp, I would keep an evening for Al Bosco: Italian cooking, from pasta and risotto to pizza.
