The pleasure of this house is being able to stay in without dropping out of the city. Bring your laptop downstairs, work alongside people from the neighbourhood, then stay for a meal. The bistro, shared tables and events bring different lives under one roof; your room gives you somewhere to retreat.

21 House of Stories has 2 Milan addresses, Navigli and Città Studi. This one stands on Naviglio Pavese, in Via Ascanio Sforza. I would choose it to spend time south of the centre, around the canals, and for a trip that mixes work with days off.

Good to know before you book

  • The unheated pool’s season runs until 31 October, weather permitting. In November hotel guests retain access to the 8th-floor terrace; I Mirador returns in spring. Conditions

What does a night cost?

Can I stay with a child?

Children up to and including 7 stay free in Creator, Wizard, Hero and SuperHero rooms, but extra beds are unavailable. These room types list a maximum of 2 guests: include every guest in the booking.

Is the minibar included?

All 5 room types include a complimentary minibar.

Can I work here without staying overnight?

Yes. Coworking is open to people staying elsewhere, with an individual booking required. Hours are 9am–6pm Monday to Friday and 10.30am–5pm at weekends; water and coffee are included.

Where can I eat if I stay in?

Domenica Bistrot is on the ground floor: lunch runs from noon to 2.30pm and dinner from 7pm to 10.30pm daily. Sunday brunch is 11.30am–2pm. I Mirador’s next season begins in spring.
