Breakfast at Marguita
Hotel guests choose between a buffet and dishes to order, until 10.30am from Monday to Friday and 11am at weekends; in summer it is also served on the terrace.
Baur au Lac restaurants are 2: Marguita, Mediterranean with a terrace in the park, and Baur’s, a brasserie with a bar. Read on 11 October 2026, Baur’s own site showed the brasserie «Closed until 11 October 2026» and Marguita’s announced a pause from 12 to 18 October.

Lunch on the park terrace at Marguita, or the Zurich classics at Baur’s.
Baur’s pricesDogs are kept out of every dining room, Marguita’s terrace excepted, and each restaurant has closures to check.
Other Zurich hotel tablesAll 3 are at Talstrasse 1, and all 3 take guests who are not staying.
The hotel counts 2 restaurants and adds Le Hall as the third place to eat. GaultMillau Switzerland gives Marguita 15 points and Baur’s Brasserie 14, and Baur’s Bar took first place as «Best Hotel Bar» at the Swiss Bar Awards 2025. Each has its own telephone and, Le Hall apart, its own website, which is where the menus are posted.
Marguita, which the hotel places on the edge of Lake Zurich, has a terrace in the private park for the warmer months. The menu on its site on 11 October 2026 is a file made in June 2026, with a chilled tomato soup among the appetizers, so it may still be the summer card. It heads its pasta «Care to share? Just ask!». It opens on a trio headed «Lobster Love», a lobster roll at CHF 37 and spaghetti alla chitarra in bisque at CHF 42 or CHF 66, then small plates such as arancini with truffle and Manchego, 3 pieces for CHF 24. Pasta comes in 2 sizes, linguine vongole at CHF 31 or CHF 42. From the sea there is grilled octopus with salsa verde at CHF 49 and turbot in beurre blanc at CHF 78; from the land a veal paillard at CHF 48 and a Wagyu tagliata at CHF 122. The showpiece is a line-caught wild sea bass baked in salt dough for 2, CHF 185, which the menu says takes about 50 minutes.
Baur’s is the brasserie, with works by Louise Bourgeois, Rashid Johnson, Rodney Graham and Rita Ackermann on its walls and a counter where dishes are finished in front of the guest. Its autumn card keeps the local canon under «Classics»: sliced veal Zurich style with rösti at CHF 59, kidneys on request, Wiener schnitzel at CHF 53, sole meunière at CHF 68 and beef fillet Stroganoff at CHF 58. From the counter come hand-cut beef tartare, CHF 36 or CHF 49, and salmon smoked in the house, CHF 26. Main courses run from CHF 45 to CHF 68, the grill apart. The grill has a Wagyu burger at CHF 45, a 400g rib eye at CHF 79 and a 200g Wagyu tenderloin at CHF 118, and a 450g chateaubriand for 2 is CHF 170. A business lunch of 2 courses costs CHF 54.
Wednesday is the night with a rule of its own. From 7pm the brasserie serves a Beef Fillet Wellington with duck liver and truffle sauce at CHF 79, and the card warns in Swiss German that it lasts «s’hät solangs hät», for as long as there is some. From the end of October the kitchen adds an Alba truffle menu, shaved over thin noodles or risotto. Baur’s Bar pours the Edigroni, its Negroni made with an Edinburgh gin and a splash of Montenegro, CHF 21 on the brasserie card, and an Alpine Daiquiri with a house alpine tincture at CHF 19.
Le Hall is the lobby lounge the hotel calls Zurich’s living room, open from 8.30am on weekdays and 9am at weekends until 11pm. Its card serves food from 11.30am to 10pm: a club sandwich with chicken, bacon and fries at CHF 38, a Caesar salad at CHF 25 or CHF 39 with chicken, a «Wagyu Burger Le Hall» at CHF 45, spaghetti bolognese at CHF 36. Breakfast is à la carte until 11.30am, from a croissant at CHF 6 to eggs Benedict at CHF 17 or CHF 24, and the teas, from the Swiss house Länggass, cost CHF 12 to CHF 18. Afternoon tea is seasonal, and its page, read on 11 October 2026, gave 19 October 2026 as the day it comes back. The 3 prices printed there each include a glass of champagne, CHF 99 with Philipponnat, CHF 109 and CHF 119 with the other 2; none is given for tea alone.
On 11 October 2026 the official pages did not tell one story about Baur’s. The booking panel on the hotel’s own site said the brasserie and its Sunday brunch were taking an interlude «from spring to autumn» and gave the bar’s hours as 6pm to midnight from Sunday to Thursday and 6pm to 1am on Friday and Saturday. Baur’s own site printed the brasserie’s full timetable with the line «Closed until 11 October 2026», and the bar from 3pm, Monday to Saturday. Marguita’s site announced «a little pause from 12 to 18 October 2026». «Closed until 11 October» reads to us as a return on Monday 12 October 2026, the day Marguita’s pause begins; neither site says so in those words, so ring +41 44 220 50 60 before setting out.
In the reviews we hold, a guest in May 2026 recommended «going for a drink at Marguita in the afternoon or for dinner in the evening» and wrote of the garden in the middle of Zurich. A guest writing in German in October 2025 found Baur’s shown as fully booked online and had a lunch table through the concierge. Of Le Hall, one review in April 2023 claims «den besten Burger der Welt», the Wagyu one. Reviews as late as June 2025 also speak of a restaurant called Pavillon, one of them as Michelin-starred; it is on none of the hotel’s dining pages read on 11 October 2026, and those pages say nothing of what became of it.
The park and the canal from the garden gate, Le Hall under its glass cupola, a Double Room, a suite with a balcony over the lake, a wooden launch on the Limmat and Zurich under snow.

Yes. The hotel says Marguita, Baur’s and Le Hall all welcome outside guests, and gives a booking number for each.
Baur’s site showed it «Closed until 11 October 2026», with hours from Monday to Saturday at lunch and dinner and a Sunday brunch after that. The hotel’s site was still speaking of an interlude from spring to autumn, so confirm on +41 44 220 50 60.

Only to Marguita’s terrace. A reviewer in December 2024 was turned away from the brasserie with a dachshund.
None of its dining pages mentions a star today; they give GaultMillau points. Reviews up to June 2025 describe a Pavillon restaurant, which those pages do not list.
