An evening at VUE
At VUE, I would choose the CHF 39 Ascona risotto with ceps and Sbrinz; duck breast with a 4-spice jus costs CHF 54.12
Back at Bellevue Palace, I would stop at Le Lobby: a drink beneath the glass roof before heading upstairs.
A week here, month by monthFor more time upstairs, I would look at Tower Suite and its circular lounge. The gym is private, with space for a workout too.
The hotel websiteAs a couple, I would choose Deluxe Double for its Aare or Bernese Alps outlook. I would choose the king or twin bed with the room.

Your choices and answer, ready when you come back.

Only some Deluxe Junior Suites connect with a neighbouring Deluxe Double. If travelling together but wanting my own door, I would begin with that configuration.
A dog costs CHF 45 a night, excluding food. Dogs may stay in the lobby but cannot enter the bar, restaurants or terrace; during dinner, the hotel offers to look after them at reception.
The room is available from 3pm and must be left by 12pm. For an earlier arrival or later departure, I would agree the time with the hotel before travelling.

Distinctions
What do Bellevue Palace’s guests say? They write it in their reviews, even those who only came for a drink or dinner: we read every one and tell the 5 things that matter, from the location to the bill.
Nearly every guest who mentions it is happy with it. Guests like exploring Bern on foot. One staying guest, however, felt denied the river outlook without dining in the restaurant.
9 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. Space and fittings are appreciated, but the high bath edge caused difficulty for a guest’s 85-year-old mother.
8 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. A birthday breakfast is remembered for warm service. On another visit, the bill took 20 minutes to arrive.
7 in 10 guests who mention it are happy with it. The buffet felt small to a guest who only discovered on leaving that à-la-carte dishes were available too.
One visitor expected more from the drinks for the price paid; another guest considers the prices justified.
On location it comes ahead of the 4 other hotels it is compared with in Bern.
On the room it comes ahead of the 4 other hotels it is compared with in Bern.

269 guests said so on Google, from 2 January 2024 to 20 October 2026. The other hotels are the ones weighed for a stay in Bern: for each we read its latest 500 Google reviews with text, or all of them where there are fewer, as of 23 October 2026. The score is the average of what they say, from 0 if they speak of it very badly to 10 if they speak of it very well. Where only a few mention something, the score stays close to the guide’s average: a handful of voices does not make a reputation.
The hotels we weigh it against in Bern:
Price: for 2, the night of 23 January 2027, from 346 CHF on Google Hotels on 22 October 2026.

At Schweizerhof Bern, I would look up before going in: above the illuminated façade sits a small tower with the Swiss flag.

Trees grow right beneath Lenkerhof’s long balconied façade.

The Alpina’s towers glow among the snow-covered fir trees. I would arrive back after dusk.

At Mont Cervin Palace, I would swim beneath the little pool bridge, facing the broad windows.

At Riffelalp, I’d swim facing the Matterhorn.
