Other wedding hotelsA ballroom with its own front door, 2 salons and a mezzanine
Capacities and details from each room’s page on the hotel’s site, read on 11 October 2026. Where 2 pages give different figures, both are here.
The Ballroom has its own private entrance on Brook Street. It is listed by English Heritage and has been restored to its art deco state, with a rediscovered 3-tiered ceiling, handcrafted chandeliers and re-gilded columns. At 243.5 square metres it takes 240 for dinner and 500 for a standing reception, and it opens into the Mirror Room, which Westminster’s ceremony guide recommends for dancing late.
The Ballroom Reception is the room adjoining it: 105 square metres of marble floor and mirrored walls in a 1930s style, sharing the private entrance and its cloakroom. Of the pages read, it is the one place where the hotel prints a ceremony figure: «Wedding Ceremony: 180». For drinks it holds 240. That suggests the order of a large wedding: vows here, dinner in the Ballroom next door.
For around 100 guests, the ground floor has 2 more rooms that open into each other. The French Salon keeps ironwork tassels by Basil Ionides, cherubs over the doors and a mural of a dancing couple uncovered at the last refurbishment; the Drawing Room, in 18th-century style, has 2 open fireplaces, daylight and the portrait known as the Lady in Blue. Each seats 96 for dinner and takes 120 for a reception. Westminster’s guide suggests one for the champagne and the other for the wedding breakfast.
Up the staircase, the mezzanine has 7 events rooms; the 2 whose pages we read are art deco in design and look onto Brook Street. The Clarence Room is the largest, 108 square metres for 100 at a reception; the Highgrove Room, which the weddings page calls one of its most intimate venues, seats 22 for dinner. The St James and Windsor rooms take 16 to 30 and the Buckingham Room 2 to 5, by the list of spaces. The weddings page itself offers «an intimate ceremony, just for two».
What the hotel adds is on its weddings page: flowers designed by Claridge’s Flowers, menus written for the day from canapés to the banquet, and Marius Caluser, the choreographer in residence, to take a couple through a waltz or a foxtrot. With 60 guests or more, the couple are given a suite for the wedding night, and their guests are offered rooms at special rates.
The only prices in print are in the Private Events Menu for spring and summer 2026, a PDF linked from the hotel’s social occasions page and not from the weddings page; its welcome speaks of menus «from wedding breakfasts to working lunches». A lunch or dinner is built by choosing one dish per course for the whole party: first courses from £40 to £48, among them the seafood cocktail of lobster, prawn and crab; main courses from £52 for roasted salmon to £70 for beef Wellington; desserts at £23 or £25. Canapés before dinner are £37 for 5 or £52 for 10 per person. VAT is included; a 15% discretionary service charge is added to all food and drink.
Couples who celebrated here write about the people as much as the rooms. One, reviewing in August 2025, described 26 hours from arrival to check-out in which the team handled flowers, cake and suppliers and the food was «of the highest calibre». Another, in April 2024, went to look at the function rooms out of curiosity, found that no other venue compared, and took extra lessons with the choreographer. A guest at a wedding breakfast in March 2026 thought the food lovely and the private room, at the back of the restaurant, less private than hoped. And in July 2026 a chauffeur wrote that doormen shouted at him to move the car when his couple, arriving from church, wanted photographs in front of the hotel.

A suite with the hotel’s compliments

The weddings page promises the keys to a complimentary suite for guest lists of 60 and above, without naming the category. A couple who held their celebration here, writing in August 2025, came back from the Town Hall to a suite prepared for them, and found that breakfast the next morning kept the standard of the day. The hotel guide shows the suites and what a night costs.
