Fontainebleau Miami Beach spa is Lapis Spa, adults-only, built round a 75-foot mineral pool at 92°F and a jet bath at 104°F. The way in is a treatment of 50 minutes or more, from $195 for a Swedish massage on 11 October 2026, before a 20% service charge and tax.

Other Miami Beach spas

A long mineral pool, a hot jet bath and steam that smells of eucalyptus

Lapis Spa, its salon and the hotel’s gym answer on one telephone number, 305-674-4772.

The hotel’s wellness page says the spa was modelled on the hammams of Marrakech, and what that means in practice is that the water comes first. The brochure lists the Essence Mineral Co-Ed Pool, 75 feet long, jetted and kept at 92°F, with a suggested stay of 10 to 20 minutes; the Immersion Mineral Jet Bath, at 104°F, for 7 to 10 minutes; and the Eucalyptus Infusion Steam. Its suggested circuits add the Bleau Rain Room, an Energy Deluge shower and what it calls hammam benches, with fruit and juice between rounds.

Nobody simply walks in. The spa’s guidelines say every guest must buy «a 50-minute spa service or package» to use the facilities, and that a salon appointment does not qualify. Hotel guests without an appointment «can enjoy the facilities for an additional fee», which the page leaves unpriced. With a booking the water is included, and the spa advises arriving 30 minutes ahead to change and shower, or an hour and more to do the water circuit first.

The hotel’s pages and brochure describe the treatments without prices; the figures here are from the booking site, where we read 3 lists, massages, Ayurvedic rituals and facials. Its body-treatment list and the couples’ treatments did not load, so this page prices neither. On 11 October 2026 the Revitalizing Swedish Massage was $195 for 50 minutes, $265 for 80 and $335 for 100. The Masters Massage, which blends Swedish, deep tissue and hot stones, was $225, $295 and $400; Deep Muscle Therapy $230, $300 and $375; Hot Rocks $230 or $300. Mommy’s Bliss, for the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, was $205 or $275. The Tranquility Pro Sleep Massage, sold for jet lag and worked with soft brushes, was $249, $319 and $389.

The Ayurvedic rituals cost $210 for 50 minutes and $275 for 80: Abhyanga with warm herbal oils, a Chakra Balancing Massage that uses lapis lazuli crystals and a Kansa wand, and Abhyanga Shirodhara, 80 minutes with oil poured over the forehead. Facials start at $230 for 50 minutes and $299 for 80, whether Brightening & Resurfacing or Oxygenating Glow, the one scented with chocolate and marshmallow; the 80-minute Firming & Lifting Facial, with dermaplaning, is $375.

Then comes the bill. The spa’s page says prices exclude a 20% service charge and tax, and the brochure adds that the 20% goes to the staff as part of their pay, with a further gratuity left to the guest. On our arithmetic the $195 massage is $234 before tax. Add-ons such as hot rocks on the back or a foot scrub are $35 each and the Theragun add-on $50. The booking site was also showing «Spa Month Extended» prices: a CBD Swedish massage or a Radiance Revival facial, 50 minutes each, at $168, which it describes as 30% off.

For 2, the Bleau Paradise Ritual lasts 100 minutes in one of the oceanfront spa suites the brochure names Indigo and Azure: a scented soak for 2, a long massage, a paraffin treatment for the feet and a scalp massage. Couples’ treatments are booked by telephone, the treatment list says. The same list has a 30-minute Celestial Waters Passport through the jet bath, the shower and the mineral pool; the booking pages we opened showed no price for it.

Of the 2,000 Google reviews we hold, 33 mention the spa or a treatment, on our count, and they pull 2 ways. «Spa is incredible», wrote a guest in March 2026; another, in May 2025, called it «absolutely gorgeous, my only complaint is that it closes at 6pm». In September 2026 a guest on a third visit for «spa month» wrote that amenities which «used to be top notch were closed down» and that an appointment with the esthetician was cancelled an hour before; a second, comparing with 2019, found «the better half» of the amenities missing. A day visitor in August 2026 had «a wonderful experience» and then an $80 valet charge for collecting the car 15 minutes past the 5 hours.

From the booking to the last towel

  • Choose a service of 50 minutes

Book online or on 305-674-4772; a credit card is required to hold an appointment. A manicure or a haircut in the salon does not open the water rooms.

  • Arrive, shower, change

The spa asks every guest to shower before the communal water and before a treatment. Robes, slippers, a private locker and toiletries are provided; bring a swimsuit.

  • Steam, juice, pool, rain

The brochure’s first circuit, «Passage to Wellness», goes from the eucalyptus steam to a break for fruit and juice, the mineral pool, the Bleau Rain Room and the hammam benches.

  • Leave the robe behind

The spa’s robes, sandals and towels may not leave it, so pack clothes and shoes for the pool deck if the day continues there.

  • Give 24 hours’ notice

A change or cancellation inside 24 hours is charged at 100%. A late arrival gets a shorter treatment at the full price.

Shared water here, private saunas down the beach

3 other hotel spas in Miami Beach, each as its own page had it on 11 October 2026.

Lapis puts its guests in one pool together, in swimsuits. The Setai does the opposite: 7 treatment rooms, 5 of them couples’ suites, with dry saunas, steam showers and a cold plunge kept inside the men’s and women’s locker rooms, and Valmont products throughout.

Faena gives a size, which Lapis does not: 22,000 square feet on its third floor, under the name Tierra Santa Healing House, with a hammam; its page listed one evening ritual there, on 19 October 2026. Carillon, which calls itself a wellness resort, lists salt float baths and cryotherapy beside its massages.

Fontainebleau Miami Beach spa: your questions

Can you use the Fontainebleau spa without staying at the hotel?

Everything read points to yes, though no page says «open to non-hotel guests» in those words. The brochure speaks of «Miami day spa services» and «day spa guests», the spa prints a parking rate for spa guests, $15 for up to 5 hours, and a visitor in August 2026 reviewed a day there. The printed conditions are an age of 18 and a 50-minute spa service or package, which opens the water rooms.

How much is a massage at Lapis Spa?

From $195 for a 50-minute Revitalizing Swedish Massage to $400 for 100 minutes of the Masters Massage, on the booking site on 11 October 2026. Service at 20% and tax come on top.

Is there a day pass for Lapis Spa?

None is priced. The rule is a treatment of at least 50 minutes; the only exception printed is for hotel guests, at a fee the spa does not publish.

Is the spa included in the resort fee?

No. The resort fee of $59 a day covers the gym for registered guests. Spa treatments are charged from the spa’s own list.

What time does Lapis Spa close?

At 6pm every day. It opens at 9.30am according to its page; the July 2026 brochure has it opening at 9am from Friday to Sunday.

Do you need a swimsuit?

Yes. The mineral pool is shared by men and women and bathing suits are required. For the treatment itself the spa leaves the choice to the guest, who is draped throughout.

Is the tip included?

A 20% service charge is added to each service and passed to the staff. Anything beyond it is at the guest’s discretion.

Can pregnant guests have a massage?

In the second and third trimesters. Mommy’s Bliss is the massage designed for it, at $205 for 50 minutes, and the spa asks to be told the due date when booking.

Is the gym part of the spa?

It answers on the same telephone number, and it is covered by the resort fee: open from 6am on weekdays and 7am at weekends, for adults of 18 and over.
